Because that is one more empty server we have to have for no GD reason.  I don't like the Arsha server either because it is a waste of a server.  Arsha is so empty, other that grinding in hadum orc or monestary...maybe fogans...it is the best server to PvE grind on.  I'm not against specialized servers per say...but I would like for them to be able to be set up in a way where they won't be empty and increase loads on the other servers.  

I will say the PvE server crowd does have a point about this game's playerbase not being all that about PvP.  Arsha with the PvP tag keeps so many people away...even with the 50% drop rate boost.  So much so that people in the know use it as the prefered PvE grind spots unless you are in the top grind areas.  And i think a PvE server at FIRST will be crowded AF.  But all the problems I have mentioned will make it a ghost server outside of a few super high geared people using novas to grief entire grind zones and it will be an empty server just like Arsha.   And all the other servers will get just a bit more crowded with more conflicts of rotations and the game will be just a bit worse for those of us who want to grind in peace. They won't add an extra server for PvE server, they will convert one of the normal ones to it.  Now, if they are going to do this and ADD a server...pretty much most of my complaints will go away...but you know they won't.

I 100% agree. I don't actively PvP because I just don't care for it but I've been PK'd a few times. Not a HUGE bother, really, but I can see where it might be frustrating for any new players that happen to be unlucky enough to come across multiple d-bags in one or two sessions. In spite of my distaste for PvP, I play this game to relax and have fun because it's one of the only MMOs out there with such a wide breadth of activities- life skills, bosses, sailing, etc. If a PvE only channel was available, I'd be on it toot-sweet, if for no other reason than NOT having the inconvenience of people pestering me in an area I'm fully geared for, asking me:

"DFS"?
"No... Just, NO, kid. I was here first and feel no compulsion to justify my presence based on a made up mechanic, even IF you feel you can 'farm this spot more efficiently'. Either gank me and take the karma hit or piss off ."

Anyway, here's the bottom line: PA is in the business of making money. A good business strategy will evolve over time to serve a wider customer base if it means more revenue, regardless of how many players may insist, "PvP is the spirit of the game". When it comes down to brass tacks, PA is running a company and they will do what makes them the most cash- whether that be bending the knee to whales or adding new features that might attract new players and thus, more Acoin purchases. I've played a lot of MMOs and most that have remained relevant changed over time to reflect a change in the attitude of their player base.

Thing is, I don't get all the 'never-PVE' diehards in the forums pitching a hissy fit and throwing out 5th grade insults toward anyone who mentions that they would enjoy playing on a purely PVE channel. It's just childish and rude. I mean, if these hardcore PvP-ers would never be caught dead logging into a PvE server anyway, why would their feelings be hurt so badly if there were a PvE channel added for those who want to play on it? No skin off their back... Unless they just get their jollies from griefing people.

Any reasonable person can draw that conclusion by talking to these toxic PK hungry players. That the only thing they have against PvE only servers. Is that their victims will then have a option to avoid them. Which means they have to fight other wolves like themselves or more powerful. Their one goal in this game is to grief live punching bags.

In a pvpve setting, players will tend to choose the safest way for their benefits ; if a pure pve appears and is available without restrictions, you can be sure that some players, confident in their gear or class, may see a pure pve channel as more lucrative and go there... Even if they have no problem with owpvp.

What's worse is that really highly geared players will be able to completely lock the best spots to make money, with well timed rotations, while others will watch and take the scraps.

That's how a pvpve game can be perverted, by bribing well geared players into going there even if they could defend themselves on regular channels. All for the sake of "trying pure pve settings" for an uncertain result? Going from the current set of tools to solve conflicts into a grinding speed contest is "better"?

The "path of least resistance" is the way to go for pvpve players, if they bring such a half-thought changes they would bring harm to their own game and pvpve core design.

If you hate owpvp to this extent, or if you want to be able to kill without consequences, you chose the wrong game. Any position between those 2 sides can find BDO interesting or even enjoyable, despite its flaws.

There's no magical phenomenon that makes you meet only aggressive overgeared players, you're even more likely to meet players from the same range of GS than you if you choose your spots carefully.
