I think we need more chat blocking. It's a feature already in the game and it should be encouraged under the right conditions.
So, no evidence that people are abusing the report function?
Okay. If the feature I described was in place then you would have the option to block people at the time you report them. If you chose "Y" then guess what you wouldn't see their "spam" any more. If you chose "N" and continue to report them each time then you're acting as a nannie enforcer and you want to see if PA is going to chat ban them after you had reported them.
So what happens to said "nannie (sp) enforcers?" do they get a special title?
I don't think people only report if they feel personally offended by the words and want to block the player at the same time. I already reported players for being out of line with some xenophobic sh... , but never did I feel personally targeted nor did it cross my mind to block the player only for that.
Reporting and blocking are 2 different things. It may happen to block someone even without a single foul word, after all.
And I don't see any problem in not blocking a player and report him repeatedly if that's justified. Turning a bling eye on excessive behavior is not good either.
And managing false reports is Pa's job, not ours.
I've never used it, but I have seen several complaints in chat group that they put the button right next to the "like" button and they hit it by mistake. Is there a confirmation dialog? If not, that could be a major issue, pretty much the opposite of a "like."
I will report all day, if I have to. Too many individuals are using chat as a personal sexting zone, and then diss people when called out, instead of taking responsibility. I don't read chat to see slurs all day - It's there for people to have a relaxing time, or for help.

Amen. Most of us don't want BDO chat to become a Twitter/X/4chan cesspool.
