It's not a PvP game and I think that kind of comment is a bit moronic to be honest.  Fortnite is a PvP game, CoD Online is a PvP game, etc.  When a game offers such aspects as lifeskills, trading, and has the first 50+ levels without PvP of any kind, how can you possibly class it as a PvP game.  Just having it as an end game scenario does not make it the complete game.  

A PvE server would only show how little PvP the game actually has as most people would migrate the moment it opened.  BDO would end up with probably 1 or 2 PvP servers and the rest would be PvE... it would also gain a much much healthier and permanent user total.  13 million subs to this game with around 20,000 active daily (according to steam).  That would quadruple, or higher if they added PvE servers.  It's a stupid business decision by Pearl Abyss to keep flogging a dead horse trying to make PvP a dominant feature of a game that would survive better as PvE.

Throne and Liberty might be the game to make Pearl Abyss rethink their current strategy as it has node wars, etc but it does not force PvP down your throat and make PvE players part of the game for cowardly PK'rs

Lol.  You missed the point. Congrats.  Call it what you want.  My point remains.  PA has already place MULTIPLE penalties on pk behavior.  None of those examples he cited happen with any frequency, and certainly not frequently enough to justify resources to further fractionate the population.  YOu may not call it a pvp game, but it has pvp and risk.  Get over it.

Where is your evidence to support that the population would quadruple with your suggestions?  Have you done the market research?  How is allowing pvp making it "a dominant feature?"  Some of you people are your own worse enemies, lol

I don't call it a PvP game and I have nothing to get over.  I play it all the time and rarely get involved in anything resembling PvP due to the fact that there isn't any.  There is the odd idiot running around knocking people off horses or killing tradeskillers, but apart from that generally it runs fine in it's pure PvE form.

Yeah, occassionally a see something going on with node wars and then some image on walls becomes another image.  Wow, how amazing!

A little icon at the top sometimes flashes to entice people to go to another place to take part in arena battles.  Awesome PvP when you have to go to a special little place to fight... mass scale PvP at it's best.

It's a PvE game and has risks otherwise it would be farmville... get over it.

Enjoy the game, lol.  The game doesn't need to become more pve friendly.  It's not worth the investment or the downsides.

And nothing runs really fine if they just shift from pk to ks. Nothing, sadly.

Lol, agree.  It does make a case though for a PvE server.  My point was that PvP is non existant but PK'rs and Griefers are a pain.  Remove the open world element and hey... make a ton more arenas, events, competitions, guild wars, node wars, etc.. but leave the people who don't want to be involved out of it (i.e PvE server)

It does not. PA tried several tweaks to the owpvp, including a server dedicated to FFA owpvp, and devs only managed to create even more players intolerant to owpvp.

When you try to correct something and make a mistake, several times, isn't there a moment when you think maybe the initial correction was not the right way to go?

And I hope that, when you talk about griefers, you include ksers. For sure, if you remove the open world element, you can remove any disturbance from other players... But is it still a real multi-player game? What about players who were looking for a open world experience, do they only deserve to be sacrificed to match the current trend of mainstream solo pve "MMORPGS"?

There is definitely a case for a PvE only server(s) regardless of how you feel this would effect other people's games.  The overwhelming example is the Olvia servers which are still full and often crowded with returning players.  Many of these players will hit the cutoff point of 30 days play on Olvia, and then wait it out until they can use Olvia again (I know because most of my friends use this system).

Then there is the popularity of the Season servers which would be massively overpopulated if they allowed for Mastery items for tradeskills.  Why would someone who loves tradeskilling and hates PvP want to leave a Season server except for the fact that TS is stunted by the lack of equipment to make TS viable.

You state that "why should people who enjoy open world combat lose this because of a PvE server".  This in itself shows that a PvE server is warranted due to your fears that everyone would leave the PvP servers and go to the PvE ones, otherwise your thoughts would be moot.  On the flip side of the coin, why should people who enjoy open world experience and cooperative gameplay be hampered by PvP's (notably PK'rs and gankers) who's only aim for the day to to make other people as miserable as they are!

There are far more arguments for a PvE server(s) than there are against it.  I believe it would increase Pearl Abyss's profitablity and attract more people back.  Why has Pearl Abyss gone a new direction also with it's lastest game engine (Blackspace) in creating a solo PVE RPG game over another MMO?  Surely if a PvP game was making them a lot of money they would have continued down that path.

Also, to be honest, Black Desert has never really been a true MMORPG.  I would regard this more as an MMOSPG (Mass Multiplayer Online Single Player Game) as the interaction between characters is limited by not being able to trade direct, give items or offer any meaningful help other than powerlevelling.  Groups and Guilds really do not have content to support any meaningful social interactions such as raiding, dungeons, etc.
