...............

To each their own........

My sister started playing because of Shai, and we've had tons of fun together.

Thanks for Shai, PA!

No thanks to the path you have been barreling down full speed these past couple years.......

I'm afraid PA is readying to sell the game to a company that will bury it under micro-transactions and gambling (moreso than it already is) or just shut it down.... . I could be wrong but it kind of feels like they're making it as attractive to outsiders as possible while ignoring feedback of vet players. Not just on the crystal thing but all the new changes kinda feel like they're spiffing it up all nice and shiny to attract a certain playerbase which is more likely to pay for gacha/gambling type items rather than older players and players who've played other (good) MMOs where players worked together towards end-game goals and the game itself wasn't constantly asking for tree-fiddy.
I hope I'm wrong but this has been the fate of SO MANY promising games and some of the changes BDO has implemented give me that warning vibe.
Note, this is just an opinion on the overal game and I'm not beefing with anyone.

The "you want to keep us divided" inane conspiracy theory was pretty entertaining to read. Equally funny was signing the post as if it represents "the community". While a few of the decisions regarding the pearl store seem questionable to many, I can assure you that there are many people out there who are happy with the overall direction that the game has taken in the last years.

It is perplexing to me how people think that their small echo chamber of a friend group represents "the community" and if most of them agree on something, then they think that is the opinion of the majority of the playerbase. Most of the changes that have created a small uproar among some players have also made many other players very happy. It is ignorant to simply assume you are in the majority without concrete data to back it up. Often when you say you are being ignored, you simply don't realize that you're part of a small vocal minority.

It certainly feels that way. That's what Tera did before they pulled the plug. They changed the tone of the game, along with a weird starter zone that had NOTHING to do with the overall story (Stepstone Isle), new space sci-fi area (level 65-70 zone), removed one-sided decs in GvG's, removed PvP from the game (open world and alliance), removed Nexus (fun group content that made decent gold), replaced Nexus with broken DOA content, made several items obsolete by changing mechanics or merging items (campfires, charms, fodder, feedstock, crystals, alkahest, ect), simplified (removed) quests, removed a lot of in-game mounts that you could earn, hyped up the game (a few months before shutdown if that) with 'we've got big plans for this game.' Sound familar? I too hope we're wrong...

Cron stone price increase (via outfit price increase) brought me to the forums. I am upset that inflation is everywhere in the world, including my gaming. I am upset that while crystals CAN be bought with silver and replaced when they break, oftentimes, they are unavailable and you must wait on a preorder to fill, or spend TIME rebuildling them from scratch.

This is the penalty for not playing perfectly at an end-game spot, catching a lagspike that one shots you, or having someone grief you by feeding you to mobs. Thier answer to this penalty is a pearl shop item, that is convienient to restore the lost crystal for a cost. I disagree with the money-grab tactic.

I don't like that they are increasing the pearl outfit cost on the market to entice whales to buy and sell them for silver. If they want to MAKE money, they need to increase the amount of pearls offered in thier pearl boxes, reduce the cost of real world money spent, making this an actual micro transaction game, so the masses of broke gamers are more willing to spend a couple bucks. People like me are deterred when looking at the "efficient" pearl boxes. I am not going to spend $80 over and over on a game. The price of pearls is absolutely insane already, and they keep making it worse and worse by instead offering multiple 4000+400 boxes rather than a single more efficient box. This reduces the pearls gained by the player, makes the player believe they got "more" because they see 4 boxes instead of 1 more effiecient box, and pads thier quarterly earnings report to sharehodlers, keeping the game alive for one more quarter.

The Risk/Reward idea is great, but all you gain from "risking" your crystals to a harder spot is the chance at a debo drop or slightly more silver/hour. If they are trying to stop players from grinding at spots below thier gear level for the sake of safety, then they need to reduce the risk or increase the reward at other spot without a pearl shop purchase solution.

I see the writing on the wall. I have enjoyed this game, and will continue to enjoy it while it lasts, but at the rate they are going, it will not last much longer.
