Hello there.


     Thank you for taking the time to read over this. As an 8 year veteran of BDO, I can say I've seen a lot and done a lot of different things. Luckily, I can say I saw it from the beginning. Things have changed, some for the worst, some for the better. I want to take a moment to layout something that has been on my mind for a while and wanted to suggest it to the community / devs. 

     This has probably been talked about before. I'd be shocked if it hadn't. But I want to talk about a path to allowing Trade for fishing while tagged. I remember when tagging became a thing. It was cool. I used the function to keep my Red Atl with me at all times. The perfect deterrent when someone tried to grief your spot, I pulled that character, and they left very quickly. I was there for the first EXP event when we could gain tagged EXP. I was blown away. I couldn't have imagined Black Desert allowing me to level two characters at the same time. 
     I also remember the frustrations that came with being tagged. It was great until you had a quest with specifics. Some cases, fish. How about coins? Those are still dropped and handed out in certain places in the world. Want to pack Imperial? Can't do that either tagged. Just forgot? Too bad. Maybe 4 years ago, I could see some of these restrictions, but it's 2024, halfway to 2025, and the 9th year of NA. 

     For me, I am a person who has been fortunate enough to be able to spend on the game. I have several... 192 slot characters, most from the days of needing those slots due to gear, scrolls or other items while grinding. (The good ol' days of scrolls in the desert) So sure, I could just use that character not tagged. But, I am a person who enjoys playing the class I main. For me, that is Valkyrie and Drakania. Drakania is my sudo-main right now, as she holds the real weapons / accessories, and have been having a lot of fun with her. But let's consider someone newer, or someone less fortunate than I. Someone who many can ONLY afford 1 character or only has one character, how can we improve this for them?
     What got this all started was me beginning to think about the water park fishing events. Those were always a fun and good competition with my guildies. Who could catch the most? Here is where the problem begins. I am the type of person who would min max run my fish. I have a ranked Trade metal on most servers. I've always tried to use my trade where I could. In this case, I'd trade my fish at Nampo. As someone who would want to AFK fish on my sudo-main at events, I'm forced by game design to not. 

     First let's see from a developer standpoint, let's ask why we don't let tagged characters trade?

- It allows safe passage from Point 1 to Point 2, if they switch.
- It could allow 2 sets of inventory to be moved at once.

Ok, so how can we fix this? 

- For safe passage -

- Disable the ability to use magnus.
- If trade item is on the current character, do not allow the ability to log on character #2.

- For double inventory - 

- If a player dies while carrying trade items on 2 tagged characters, destroy both inventories.


Ok, these are great, but there is another reason this also isn't possible by the Dev's eyes: Trade Crates.

     
Here is the messed up thing we need to address first of this: Trade EXP. Trade EXP is beyond an afterthought here. I will prove this quickly. Based on current EXP numbers, to get Guru 20 making crates every 5 minutes, in EVERY workbench in the game, would take 50 years. You have to produce over 625 Million, yes, million crates to hit that with 1,050% life exp. That's only Guru 20. Not G50 which is 26.5 BILLION crates. Let's not even talk about G100 which is probably closer to 750 billion, to1 Trillion crates on a ground guess by how the curve is designed.
     I mention this to say, they cannot use this argument on moving crates. As we can only carry at max around 12,000 crates total on our person. 12,000 crates is a drop in the bucket to 625 million. This means if Pearl Abyss wants to use potential of "for Trade EXP", this is void. Who cares at this point, not one of us, legitimately will ever see Guru 20 in the game's lifetime. So now that we have addressed that, let's point out what can be done to make tagged trading a thing!

- Allow tagged characters to at minimum fish / coins / sea treasures (We will give them trade crates for now, I can see a "reason" why)
- Prevent magnus travel to avoid just teleporting from X furthest point to Y trade point
- Do not stand behind the defense of Trade EXP, unless you rework the EXP system completely. Until then, give your players free reign.


     I know it's more complicated than just changing a single button. But spending a little time on this would be a massive win for the community. The point of MMOs is to play your fantasy, play role, become these characters. This limiting factor four years ago, doesn't make sense in 2024. 2016 when it was a race for master 2 trade and the desert trade buff, sure. I get that, but not not.



     I hope you all take this into consideration. You have done so many things, I would have LAUGHED your face off for even suggesting, back in 2016, but it's such great QoL. Let's add this to list of that very QoL, and allow trade for tagged characters. The point was to make us pick these two, let's give us more reason to keep them tagged.

but yes, i agree with part of what you're saying.   no, do not stop magnus travel with fish, we literally just got that a few months ago..

What they need to do is allow us to sell any "non-backpack" trade items while tagged.  period.  (yes, you touched on that subject)  So that would include fish, margoria treasure, ancient coins, etc, and exclude crates and regular trade items (which are currently disabled anyway).

Even with magnus travel of 2 characters with 192 inventory of fish from Valencia to Moodle, it's not going to break the bank and it's not going to suddenly make everyone G50 trading.  The trade skill exp curve is so astronomical past M11 that I'd probably have to fish for 50 years to hit G1.

As someone who just recently began using the tagged character system. I find this aspect of it very annoying. I can't sell my fish while I am tagged? Why? And for trading why would it ever matter if you walked across with trade goods on a tagged character ? You can just send them from storage house to storage house, right?

But as far as the fishing items, I can't put them in the bank so another character could sell them. I can't untag unless i travel to the other side of the map (wich is well out of my way) and even then i lose the marni fuel i spent to copy items, have to jump back and forth between characters, getting the exp and un-equiping the items. It's ALOT of hassle to sell some fish.

Please re-think it.

You can not use Magnus with trade items anyway already and yes please. I am a 1 character player and just have a tag for dungeon content and would love to be able to trade normaly.
