Can you guys please add a function where when you cancel a workers task you can choose for it to stop right away or after it is finished with the current task. That way you won't lose any materials. The way you changed it to stop right away makes us lose materials if we choose to stop the current task. The reason I ask for this is because I am nearing the end of my forest path wagon and I have a giant working on it and he has over 20 more to do which takes a long time. I would like to cancel the rest of his work and let other workers work on it too but I will lose materials if I cancel his work. Before I could cancel the work and it would finish what it had started so I don't lose anything. So please give us an option to finish the current task so we don't lose anything.
Honestly, I prefer the old behavior to the current behavior. Occasionally, canceling the current task immediately is useful, but in the vast majority of cases, I want the worker to cancel once they're done with the current task so that they don't waste the work that they've already done - or worse, waste resources if the task requires them. All in all, the change to how worker tasks are canceled seems almost wholly negative to me, and I don't understand why they would think that the new behavior is better.
That being said, I would think that the best of both worlds would be to give the player the choice whenever they cancel a task as to whether they want to cancel it immediately or cancel it once the current task is finished.
