at some point, when Naru gear (and beginner enhancement materials) was introduced, there were big changes to main quest and rewards.

one side effect i see is that old alts that were done with main questing (mediah was completed), were for some reason then given a quest to re-do the mediah quest line..???

okay so i think well, let's give it a try... it gives a lot of beginner enhancement material to make PEN Naru... and i hear there are changes coming so that players can exchange PEN Naru for Blackstar in next week's update... (for non-season characters) ...
sounds like a nice catch up mechanic for returning players with old alts that are waay behind on gear, and also a good replacement for those alts that are still using Oasis gear which we can assume Oasis gear may be vanishing at some point soon.

anyway... [[[[BUG]]]] the problem with this is that for old alts that predate Naru patch (that had already completed the Mediah main quest once before)... Fughar WILL NOT offer them the option to exchange the beginner material for any Naru gear...

so the question remains why was this quest line added back into the game for old alts that had already completed Mediah main quest... and why are old alts able to do it and gain tons of beginner enhancement material, if they can do nothing with it.

i would suggest some patch be added to solve this issue. but more importantly, perhaps make Naru and the beginner enhancement materials NOT be bound to character. (and consider to reduce the carry weight on it to zero because it is really heavy for an item that cannot be removed from the character's inventory!!! especially if we are expected to save these materials for future patch that may make these materials useful!)

perhaps give us a vendor that will allow us to buy/earn Canon and Naru gear and beginner enhancement material. and then let us exchange for Blackstar so we can have something once the Oasis gear is removed from the game. (otherwise the market for enhancement material and weapons will drastically skyrocket when Oasis is removed, and will be a massive pre-order mess where supply cannot keep up with demand.. and prices for even the most trivial gear will go up an be out of stock...)

i am only assuming, the reason this change to allow Naru PENs and Canon to be exchanged for Blackstar.. for non-season characters, is meant as a catch up mechanic, and also signals that perhaps "Seasons" are no longer planned going forward..

this is further signaled by the introduction of Sage before Season 3 ended - and rewards to level him up now, rather than announce a Season 4.

Same problem here. I'm a returning player. Can't get Naru gear to enchant and exchange for Narchillan gear on my 3 year-old Mystic.

You can work around the problem by creating another character, getting character-bound Naru gear on the new character, upgrading it to PEN, exchanging it for family-bound Narchillan gear (the weapons come in boxes, don't open them on the new character) and finally, transferring the Narchillan items to the old character.

However, I find it unreasonable to expect all affected players to spend a lot of time playing on a different character just to bypass this bug in the game.

After spending a few hours trying to figure out why I can't get Naru gear from Fughar, I submitted an inquiry about this issue and discussed with a GM.

I asked the GM if they can "fix" Fughar for my character so that Fughar gives me the option to exchange Beginner Black Stones for Naru gear. It turns out GMs can't / don't want to do this.

Then I asked the GM if they can manually place Naru gear in my inventory and take away the correct number of Beginner Black Stones (i.e. "simulate" buying the Naru gear at a bug-free Fughar), to which they replied "we are not able to open exceptions and make any manual changes to this, as it is working the same way for all of our players".

Developers, if your're reading this, I hope you understand that not every player has the time and is willing to do "whatever it takes" to work around serious, progression-hampering game bugs such as this one.

For a returning player with only one character and limited play time per day (such as myself), not being able to get Narchillan gear is a big disadvantage.

On top of that, I currently have 400 Beginner Black Stone (Weapon) and 800 Beginner Black Stone (Armor) sitting in my inventory and weighing me down. I can't move them to storage and I hesitate to get rid of them, hoping that this issue will get fixed soon and then I'll be able to use the stones to obtain and enchant Naru gear.

As I understand, all (non-seasonal) characters that completed the Serendia quest line before the introduction of Naru gear are currently unable to obtain Naru gear. This has been the case for at least a couple of months. I'm surprised that such a serious issue has not been fixed yet.

Also, as reward for the awakening quest line, I received a box containing a PRI Tuvala awakening weapon. My character cannot open this box because it's not a seasonal character ... so this is another gear-related bug with old characters.

Black Desert is a great game and I do enjoy playing on my Mystic, but experiencing these issues really put a dent in my enthusiasm.

Developers, thank you for making this awesome game, but please fix these bugs (at least the main one - "unable to get Naru gear")! They seriously affect the gear progression of "non-hardcore" players.

I guess they messed up somewhere and added the stones to ALL characters questline, because the new Mediah before actually didn't have them. Only seasonal characters did. This changed when they announced there would be no more new seasons & we would get Narchillian Gear once per family.

I guess that's why they don't want to change it. But, that's all it is. I'm guessing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Valid option could be to also put the Naru rewards in the Balenos/Serendia/Calpheon questlines, but for the characters who already done them there's no alternative right now. You could always sell them though, or trash... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have this issue. 

I returned recently due to some friends suggesting the game might get intresting with dungeons, decided to do the story line quest on an old character (Valk). I had leveled this character to 58 but had not done any of the quests. I mean 0.  Over the last few days I had gone through the quests: beginning journey  -> all the way to valencia, kept wondering when i'd start to get the naru gear.  After talking to some peers they informed me I should already have it...

was able to get and have the quests for exhchanging the naru pen gear for the narchillian, however Fughar does not offer the exchange option for that character. Which was the one I was intending to play going forward. Thanks to doing the quest is sitting on about 2k of each bound beginner stones that are completely useless it seems.

In contrast my guardain, a character who completed the questline before hand, can exchange for the naru gear despite not having access to the stones aside from breaking down the black armor and weapon stones.

Some peoples suggestion is to "just level another character and do the quests". I get for some this is reasonable, but for me it is a total deal breaker. If I had not already had cosmetics and other purchases for this specific character I would be considering the idea. But at this point I've decided to uninstall and am considering backcharging on recent purchases. 

Some might say its melodramatic, but I've had nothing but bad buggy experinces with this game over the 4 or 5 times I've tried to pick it up. 

VenHatred, it's not as bad as you may think.

You can still get Oasis gear, which is practically free and, apparently, only slightly worse than Narchillan gear. This gear is part of the Oasis "event", which has been going on for more than a year now (!). The catch is that, supposedly, all Oasis items will be removed when the event finally ends.

Also, you can obtain Narchillan gear on your main character. When you first get the Narchillan items from Fughar, they are not character-bound (and the weapons are in boxes). So you can get Narchillan on one of your alts and immediately move it to your main.

However, the (current) availability of Oasis gear doesn't make this bug any less important. It looks like all "old" characters are unable to get Naru gear, not only those which completed the Serendia quest line years ago. I suspect this is because all "old" characters are bound to follow the old, pre-Naru main quest line and Fughar's "Exchange" option appears only if a certain post-Naru main quest was completed.

Hello from Spain, i have the same problem, i can't get Naru gear with my main character because Fughar don't give me the option for exchange! However, I have a lot of beginner stones from quests and yes the quest for obtain Narchillian, that doesn't make sense, I don't have the Naru gear... I do not know what is happening but please, solve this problem now.

I came back to the game a month ago and I don't want to up another character right now much less because of this.

Guys, you need to understand that Customer support and the overall customer care from Pearl Abyss is the definition on how to waste your business by taking a big dump on your customers.
U guys are complaining about not being able to exchange beginner stones for Naru gear while a guy that was banned by Pearl Abyss had to open a reddit post, get on the all social media (YT,Facebook groups, Twitter) so he can get a response from PA after 1 MONTH !!!
The guy was banned by PA because their implementation of paymentwall is working with the same RNG they give us to grind infinite potion parts.
I thought Kakao had the worst customer support/care i ever met but i think Pearl Abyss went to "Hold my beer, Kakao" mode.

Coming to forums to submit issues/complaints/suggestions is the biggest waste of time u guys can do. Just look on this bloody forum how many times they responded to threads, interracted with people, answering questions, resolving issues, giving feedback/answers from Pearl Abyss KR, and so on. 
That pathetic excuse they bring with "We are overwhelmed by customer support tickets" is the biggest spit in the face they can give. 
y0 Pearl abyss HR dept. !! Hire some people, would you?? Oh ... that means u gotta pay wages, invest in infrastructure for these new employees, oh .. i see.

Im not hyped by that Elyon game release, but i will sure give it a try. If it has better customer support/care, some decent game story, gameplay and it feeds my mmorpg needs, that might be enough for me to leave behind this game.

And the end i want to tell you my recent experience with PA customer support: Once i sent a Customer support ticket where i wrote "f;asdfkl;sdaf gfa;kdfjdsakj fdlaskdlaks" <--exactly this text.
Their reply was from a guy named Charles with a copy paste text saying that they cannot find in game logs the issue i reported and at the end signed with name Michael. (Charles and Michael names are fictive used to point that there were 2 different names)
