So, after today's joke of a patch, I started malding and my hair just fell out right then and there, so I got around to writing this up instead of going bald to preserve what's left of my hairline.

 

Succession(Succ from now on) Zerker right now is a competitor for worst class in the game(in a world where Shai doesn't exist, but hey, Shai is still better at PVE). There is no reason to play succession over awakening, especially now with awakening having seismic blast. Succ has only 1 real big damage ability, and it's easily interruptible and on a relatively long cooldown at that. Awakening's seismic blast, a fast cast skill with a frontal guard and multiple flow options does more damage, and is way more protected, than sitting in raging thunder.

 

Down below is a list of serious problems the class has, and my suggested fixes, updated to include the stupidity from today:

 

 

Problem: Succ only has knockdown comboes in an RBF adamantine meta. CC reset grab removed(as per today's patch). It is presently impossible to 1 combo a 380+ DP player that is running adamantines with succ zerker, regardless of your own gear, which is a problem that The class lacks damage and the 2nd cc is the most resisted cc in the game.

 

Suggested Fix: Damage buffs are needed, to raging thunder in pvp, as well as a second cc that is not a knockdown. My idea is to have a float on BWS(beastly wind slash). Maybe a frontal guard float for BWS. As of right now, there is almost no reason to use the skill outside of hoping for a downsmash and as a prebuff. That would bring the skill into the kit nicely, without really being too strong. in different contexts.

 

Problem: There is no alternative to Raging Thunder for dealing real damage. Enter: Fearsome Tyrant. This skill is more or less completely useless, not really a cohesive part of succ's kit. There are no good ways to cancel into it, the damage is extremely poor, and the cd, at 40 seconds, is much too long for a skill that really doesn't offer much of anything aside from a slight heal. The new change where you can enter into 10 seconds of unprotected beast mode abilities is not only confusing for enemies(are you in beast mode and protected or in whatever the hell Fearsome Tyrant does and unprotected?), but it's also confusing for the player, because you have to play completely differently to normal beast mode.

 

Suggested Fix: Add frontal guard to fearsome tyrant. Reduce CD from 40 to 24 seconds or so. Increase pvp damage substantially. Add flows in and out of it, so it is easier to cast. In the new 10 seconds of beast mode post fearsome tyrant, apply super armors as per usual.

 

Problem: Rabams are awful. Aside from wailing beast, the rabams are more or less entirely useless. The slight damage buff in PVE for a few of the rabams does nothing. They contribute nothing to zerker's kit. Feral rage does less damage than spamming FD. Both Frenzied Winds and Frenzied Tyrant are completely and utterly useless in every facet of the game.

 

Suggested Fix: Scrap the existing rabams. Take inspiration from Guardian. A good pulling ability would be very nice to have, as well as some additional mobility.

 

Problem: Lack of tankiness, lack of damage, lack of protections. Succ simply put, is inferior to just about every other class that fills the niche of a melee bruiser. Striker, Mystic(post buffs), Guardian, even Warrior, etc... All those classes have something Succ doesn't have. Striker with less than 200ap can one combo a 360dp player while being untouchable. Meanwhile, Succ zerker, with 302ap, would need a similarly long combo to do the same amount of damage to the same player. An over 100 sheet ap difference. Mystic, after the buffs, does extremely good damage, all while being one of the tankiest classes in the game. Warrior, while not as tanky as either of the two aforementioned classes, gets the most robust kit in all of BDO with how well it can do anything and everything. Guardian, aside from the long distance mobility and lack of granular movement, is a very well equipped class. Succ Zerker simply doesn't have a real identity, nor any attributes that would make it excel in any field. There is always a better class at everything.

 

Suggested Fix: Re-examine Succ Zerker's kit, performance, in comparison to other classes. Succ Zerker's identity should be: Giant with two very big axes. Guardian-esque almost. Big AOE damage, less mobility, more protections, harder to kill.

 

I could sit here for hours writing all the problems with Succ Zerker's kit. It's in dire need of a rework or significant buffs.

Haha, no. It is by far the worst spec in the game, pvp-wise at least.

True. The SA buff was great for pve, did nothing for pvp, as the lateral strikes (Knockdown) do not retain it and only suicidal maniacs would start spinning in front of a non-CCed enemy (if they're CCed, they don't hit you, so SA is useless again). Besides, a spinning Berserker moves only at a normal pace - compared to others, which dash like mad in the meantime, it's as good as standing still = free grabs on him, cuz why not. I somehow understand, that buffing Raging Thunder might make it's BSR a little bit too OP, but giving it a dps/speed boost only on it's non-BSR version would require someone to think for more than 5 seconds about a dead class. Yuck.

Haha, yeah, that made me laugh well, seems like they're removing essential Succ Zerk's mechanics in favor of introducing some random ones. No. At least only for prime versions, since any changes to basic kit will buff Awa as well, which will then induce future nerfs in the basic kit to rebalane Awa and our Succ will be dragged from bad to mediocre and back to bad, like a bag of potatoes.

Eh, can we just skip Zerker's "healing" skills in pvp? It's just unpleasant to remember how useless they are outside of "run away -> heal -> go back". Each has more cons than pros. No real way to chain them, no real way to position yourself, mostly cannot be canceled without a lenghty, useless animation at the end. They feel more like rabams, than actual skills. Overall, they suffer from the same thing as RT - a solid total amount of numbers (here: healing) but laughably low numbers per second and pretty much suicide to use mid-fight.

Ah, also the unprotected beast form abilities are not "confusing" they're just a huge nerf, the only thing about the hamster is that the changed abilities have SA, because they lose all utility. No SA and no utility? Was that suggestion made by anyone who actually played this class? Please.

And again, whatever buffs should be applied only to Prime versions of the skills for reasons. Actually, a 10s beast form (without the movespeed buff) would be a great idea, but the CD would have to stay at 40s. Hell, imagine that: FT -> instant cancel after 1 stomp -> free 10s of beast form. Beast form ends? Next one in 30s.  feelsgoodman.jpg <- Santa, pls. Or S*tan? I always mix those 2 up.

Heh, you mean look at a class that's already good, take notes and make changes? Possiblen't. Like I said, it would take more than 5 seconds of thinking, let's respect each other's time.

Well, imagine making a class called Berserker and making it a cheap WWE ripoff (I already said so in another post, but it's important, so it has to be said at least twice). This class is meant to be garbage by design: completely flavourless and crap of all trades. It's initial OPness came from the mentioned WWE grabs, which were nerfed and then nerfed to hell in the last patch. The main strength of a dual battleaxe-wielding titan came from WWE moves. Just let it sink in...

Tbh, I am very fond of this this class, but given the fake hope we got with the previous buffs, seems like the only thing we'll receive is another PVE buff to a skill which is not used in PVE alongside a hearty "Shut up and eat your garbage" or "Berserker should smash with shoulder, so we buff shoulder" (btw. who the hell translated the last patch notes, smh).
This is especially frustrating, since they could buff the DK properly (I really enjoy watching my 2 friends duel from time to time, Lahn vs DK with DK having ~5 DP more, and the win ratio pre-buff was 90% for Lahn, now it's 50/50), so I can't read these "buffs" to Succ Zerk as a sign of goodwill, it's more like a somewhat good buff + some random stuff so we buzz off.

Eh, went on a rant again, gotta go find some garbage to eat.
