My boyfriend and I did the transfer for BDO around february/march and we did it together via call, step for step and we were successful.
We didn't play for a while but wanted to play today so we downloaded the game again (mine's still downloading btw) and his download was done and he wanted to play but his launcher says that he "has to buy it".
I thought that this can't be and I tried my account on his pc, because I thought that his launcher might be broken but it worked like a charm.
Now I'm wondering how can it be that his game updated after he logged in, even tho he "doesn't own it"?
I'm asking myself if it's possible for someone who doesn't own the game if they can still update the game and if not, how can it be that the launcher is able to update the game without giving a error popup that he "doesn't own it".
So he must own it when it's able to update the game?

I hope anyone gets my point.
I explained everything and we even screenshared and I watched every single click/step on his side and we both were 100% successful with the transfer.
The thing is, I wouldn't be able to play either if we would of done anything wrong, because like I said we watched each other doing the steps and we were successful.
He already contacted the support but maybe anyone on here can give us a quick reply, since this is very confusing and frustrating.

Edit:
So I have used this one: "https://www.naeu.playblackdesert.com/en-US/Adventure?region=EU&searchType=1&searchKeyword=Hajikiro#none" and couldn't find his characters and family name which is seriously f***ed up.
I don't know what he has supposedly done wrong, since this can't be but this account transfer must of been broken and also one of the most useless things ever.
In my POV, just another cashgrab for Pearl Abyss/Kakao if people who are busy with life and couldn't play have lost their game, bought ingame items, which cost A TON of IRL money and progress now due to this unnecessary transfer and have to buy it new.
I'm sorry, I love BDO but that's just f***ed up and I feel like Pearl Abyss picked random players and transferred their accounts on their own liking...
I'm saying it again, we have done it together, we saw each other doing it and now it's gone with the supposedly excuse "he hasn't done the transfer correctly" even tho Pearl Abyss knows exactly that they have done something wrong on their side.
He did, I helped him and I saw it, even the confirmation e-mails.
Like I said, I wouldn't be able to play either.

I'm sorry for the little vent but that's my serious opinion and I hope Pearl Abyss has a good explanation for their mistake.

If he did transfer Successfully, he saw certificate with his name.

Are you both playing through the same launcher? Or one is web launcher and other is steam? Correct region? Correct launcher?

Transfer it's not a "cashgrab" from Pearl Abyss. Kakao Games was owning all account datas, with transfering you agreed that you want those datas to be moved to Pearl Abyss. So its data protection. If you did not transfer and agree to it. Then Kakao Games exterminated those datas since they have not any agreement to move  them to Pearl Abyss.

Best he can do is to join BDO discord since it's easier to talk there and maybe we can figure out what he did. Or just wait for official support answer.

"If he did transfer Successfully, he saw certificate with his name."
We both received this (it's german):

This E-Mail is basically confirming, that we transferred it successfully.

"Are you both playing through the same launcher? Or one is web launcher and other is steam? Correct region? Correct launcher?"
Yes, we do play through the same launcher, no one of us bought it on steam, since we have the game since 2016.
Correct region and correct launcher as well!
Unfortunately we couldn't find his package on his account on here as well but mine shows up under "Package History" but of course, if he "doesn't own it", it won't show up anyways.

I know that they are owning all the account datas but you have bought it, you have paid for the game, their service and also paid for the ingame items.
You are owning the game as well.
I do understand that they wanted to basically delete unused accounts with this wipe but like I said, for very busy people that are currently struggling with their real life and can't play, it's seriously f***ed up and looks like a easy cashgrab to me.
As if they knew a lot are currently struggling due to COVID and don't have time.
"Let's wipe their accounts, we don't care if they don't have time to transfer it, let them buy the game again, as if they didn't pay 60 bucks and more for the game and ingame items.
We got their money, let's make more money!"

I hope you get what I mean with that.
I don't want to assume their intentions with it but that's how I feel about that and it's very frustrating and angering.

"Best he can do is to join BDO discord since it's easier to talk there and maybe we can figure out what he did."
We will do that, thank you!
