I have seen many frustrated new players who are hesitant to enter the desert due to a lack of vision to help them navigate this vast territory, and for more experienced players the ability to access the ruins of Aakman/Hystria from the portals.

With this I would like them to include a mission to obtain the treasure objects and be able to help: Lafi's improved compass and the archaeologist's map; similar to health/mana potions, via weekly quests to get small compass/map parts. As for the portal to the areas within the desert, it would be better for all of them if it gave them guaranteed access through a mission, without having to enter and randomly (for the moment Sage is the only class can enter free with the quest).
