This is a tale told of a man who delved into the unseen. It is the story of someone who sought Power above all else. Though, one might ask, what defines power? To Soren Kasai, power was not only one’s physical or magical abilities, it was Knowledge! For he knew that Knowledge governs all things within comprehension. Humble and meek, Soren started his beginnings at the academy of God’r Ayed. Amongst his fellow Wizards, he seemed hopeless in his study for unraveling the mysteries of the world.

One day, a star gallantly blazing across the horizon harshly beckoned the gaze of all who dwelled within the lands. This star was unlike any the world had seen prior. Its ominous presence seeped into the hearts and minds of all who were spiritually attuned. For its presence was not merely a fleeting coincidence. It was fate.

Soren affixed his gaze for the final time as the Star Shone its last display of eerie vibrance before a deafening explosion gripped the entire world as it crashed to the earth. After the initial impact, it was found that all life was decimated within its radius. Anything that was unlucky enough to survive just on the outskirts of the initial blast had been forever altered. The animals, the plants, the people... all corrupted and Afflicted by a wretched influence. The survivors of the calamity stood as affront to all life. As for those who were unfortunate enough to have witnessed this cataclysm could feel but one thing, speechless trepidation. For not only was the land itself scarred, but so were their souls. As such it was aptly named, the Black Star.

Thus, Soren set out on a journey seeking the truth regarding the Black Star’s ominous machinations. In due time many discoveries were made. However, some were more personal than others. For not only had Soren acquired treasures that bolstered his magical abilities, he had acquired the most important one of all. Perseverance.

The legends state that he who accomplishes all will be be rewarded by the God of Wisdom and Knowledge. As such, Soren pushes ever onward forever more, as an arrow shot into the vacuous eternity to accomplish his goal at the end of time.
