So as the title suggests I'm new to the game, and I have a few questions.

What server would be most recommended for a new player?

Is it easy to find people to play the game with while levelling?

Which guides if any do people suggest are good for players just starting?

Thank you for your time ♥

Doesn't matter, those are just isntances, you can switch between them. (New players can acess olivia for extra xp boost, and if you start a season character you can use that aswell for boost.)

No, it's a singleplayer game, there is no reason to party for leveling. Like you can get to lvl 61 within a day. (much less if you know what to do)

Google bdo leveling first results help.

But for a new player you probably should do the main quest line untill you uninstall. Mostlikely you not gonna reach the end anyway.

If you want to rush the leveling then tl.dr: do the main quest line untill like heidel, then start grinding mobs for level until like 57 (then do the chenga quest line) then do side quests in calpheon untill 59 then starsend direghan and kama quests to 61.

But the guides describe it better.

The next season server starts at June 29, 2021 (Tue). If you relly want to play, you shoudl start a character on that server, as it (usually) gives loot of free stuff.

Untill that you can just look around the classes etc, find one that looks good or idk.

Except they lied to you about the singleplayer aspect: you spend some days levelling alone (unless you play with friends or you get into a decent guild) then you can spend the remaining years of your BDO career grouping for various activities including grinding for levels.

Case in point, one of the most popular grinding spot in the whole game is called Mirumok and is a group grinding spot.

Just take anything that PlastikDK says with a grain of salt because they're a straight liar about many things as years of experience proved.

Personally to get a good introduction to BDO I would recommended a guild that is new player friendly. They should be able to answer directly to most of your questions, give actual guidance on how to progress and provide links to good guides.

"What server would be most recommended for a new player?"

I'd recommend Seasonal Servers.  They are a boon for new players, as I'm sure you're aware.

"Is it easy to find people to play the game with while levelling?"

Levelling in the main story-line is done solo.  Pretty typical of most MMO's, the starting questing is mostly a solo experience.  Levelling via questing is the most effective way to gain combat EXP up to level 61, so most players go that route.  You could grind mobs til level 61+, but it will take much longer.  Questing falls off after level 61, after which, mob-grinding becomes the fastest way to level up.  And nice thing is, if you're into grouping, Mirumok Ruins is the best EXP spot and is a group grind zone.

Finding people to play with in BDO, IMO, is good for grinding group zones, the new dungeon, social necessities, and for PvP.

"Which guides if any do people suggest are good for players just starting?"

Couple websites I have been using for years and a few YouTubers who I find extremely helpful.

- GrumpyGreen & BDFoundry.  These are your go-to sites for BDO guides from lifeskilling, to gearing, to enhancing, to PvP, to class guides, bartering guides, pretty much anything you can think of in-game, these sites have good general guides that cover them.

- YouTubers for guides:

>Chris Poli.  The man with the guides.  This guy will guide you through events, patch notes, questing guides, etc.  And he has a lovely accent, IDC what people say.

> EvilDoUsHarm.  The man with the levelling guides.  He'll show you the way when it comes to questing.  Def follow him on your journey to level 61 and beyond.  He also goes over patch notes, events, and does livestream on YouTube.  He's into lifeskills as well, so might be good to check out if you're into lifeskills too.

> Salt.  One of our community's most well-known enhancing guru's.  He makes good guides on enhancing, and stuff like content leaks.  He gives a very analytical, detailed, data-oriented, well-explained, and "scientific" approach to the game with a focus on min-max efficiency when it comes to silver and stuff.  Worth a check out.

Welcome to BDO :))
