Spoken too soon. Restarted game client since there were some additional updates since yesterday 16:00 CET.
Now I'm already at 8500 handles in few hours.
Oh well, back to waiting for this fix.
I have doubts on actually getting a fix.
These are the same guys that have yet to fix the game's UI from causing micro stutters,No v-sync ingame option, fullscreen prompt.Issues/QOL changes that should have been made and reported years ago.
There's still no sage sub forums under "classes" ffs.
I'm telling you right now.Everything under "Suggestions" is only there for PR/Legal reasons.
Do not expect a fix. Seems PA developers are not smart enough. Seriously, just using ProcessExplorer and looking at the handles will tell every average developers what is going wrong in just a few seconds (Hint: You are leaking handles to almost every process running, which is leading to the second question: why the hell are you sniffing in other processes ?!)

They are probably trying to see if you are using some illegal software on your PC. Not sure if they are even allowed to do so ... someone else with more law knowdlege might know the answer. But personally I don't care if they are looking at all of the processes on my PC, just somehow close those handles.
Just bumping this thread once again ... This is how it looks like when you don't restart BDO client from one maintenance to another. 725k handles that are just clogging PC resources and decreasing game performance.
I am not very tech savvy so I don't have much to say but I crash EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT. Sometimes I get lucky and use half of my fishing rod, other days I don't even get 10 durability down.
My takeaway is: I'll restart my game before going to bed and lowering graphics.. even if it's a temp fix..
well all i know is in about 12 hour after restarting bdo i am already up to 213,000
+1
I was wondering why I needed to restart my BDO after I get home from work.
After a clean reboot, everything works just fine.
But it is a bit bothersome to do all the time.

I also had those crashes over night, but ever since I moved to less popular fishing spots I don't have that problem anymore.
Also not that tech savy here, but I know a bug when I see one. No idea what's causing it or how it could be fixed, but I played many other games and never saw that kind of strange behaviour with game client.
To get the best performance while grinding, I have to restart my game client before I decide to grind ... not ideal at all.
Same here. I open game from "minimize to tray" after work, and I am getting 60 FPS at best.
I close the game fully and restart and I get 100s of FPS.
By the end of the evening I am right around 100FPS
By the next day when I sign back on and restore the game from "minimize to tray" I am getting 60FPS at best again, and restart.
In theory, performance should be consistent.
It seems like something was done about this with last update. I checked amount of handles yesterday before I went to bed, and today it's still around the same number (80'400). I also spend 2 hours today grinding at fogans, and it's still the same number.
Something was clearly done about this, and it got better, but with 80k handles it's still far from perfect.
But at least it seems like they are finally doing something about it.
