The enhanced controller support that was added in this patch was essentially porting the consoles controller support to the PC version. This utilizes their ring menus and new UIs which you're forced into using if you want to use a controller at all. Many players have been playing with the same controller setup for the last 4 years and are now given no option other than completely changing how they play without their consent, and for some it may not even be functionally possible. A sizable portion of people who choose to play PC games specifically on controller is because the controller accomodates disability much more easily than mouse and keyboard. Drastic changes without option may drive many of those to point they simply can't play the game they love anymore.

For quickslots, these ring menus are very clearly inefficient compared to the current system of inputting a bumper and it acting as a modifier for A, B, X, and Y. Quickslot 1 being RB + A. Quickslot 2 being RB + B etc. If the old quickslot system was usable with the new controller UI it'd allow for more options to those with disability.

The menu support is great if you're only going to be playing with a controller on your couch or something. If you've played a sort of hybrid setup where you do combat and other active functions with your controller and fiddle with your gear with your mouse and keyboard that's simply not possible anymore. Enabling the controller forces you into this controller only mode.

A really simple fix to this is just making this new full controller support an opt-in option in the menus. The previous menu overhaul was given an opt-in option aswell so why can't this? I'm sure this system will benefit some, while also being immensly detrimental to others who have already been using a controller on PC for many years.
