Today a friend persuaded me to come back to BDO to help him out with season and try the new class, even tho i had already told him that i didnt intend to play the game seriously i tought that maybe it would entertain me 2-3 hrs per day... ofc i was a fool, upon loging in i found my first problem, i couldnt pre create the new class as i had already maxed out on characters, every single one of my characters have a very specific function therefore deleting one of them wa out of the question, i dont have enough loyalties to buy a character expansion ticket (and i will go to hell before i spend almost a month worth of loyalties in something like that) and ofc PA has since a while ago decided that they want every single penny they can get so no free character slots, with that the 50% of my reasons to come back banished in thin air.

After that situation i tought to myself: "what a better way to celebrate a return than succesfully enhancing gear" and no, this is not a story of a failed enhancing attempt, no. its a much simpler yet pathetic situation, the market was completely empty of hard black crystal shards therefore i couldnt enhace, so i just placed a pre order and while organizing my storages a bit i waited.. and waited... and waited, 4 hrs later enhancing was out of the question.

With enhancing being my main source of income and grinding being so unrewarding, repetitive and boring i couldnt bring myself to even bother finding a grinding spot, so i went through my old list of "potential things to do":

Enhancing: we already know how that went.

hunting: even tho i like the activity the profit is absurdly low (not to mention how rare is to get a single breath of narcion) so that was a no.

Imperial delivery: i have food already cooked -i tought to myself- so i checked the the NPC in 3 different channels, all sold out... i guess thats TOO is of the question.

Bartering: after bouncing back a forth between islands litetrally thousands of times, trading 19454 items in total and crafting 2 carracks i have to admit that i would prefer to shave using wax than to do bartering. and dont get me wrong i am a sea content lover but hell the sea content in BDO is boring as hell.

i wont write the whole list here as i dont want the post to be THAT long but i think you guys get the picture, this game is soooooo overly complicated to play, be it pay walls, lack of materials in market, unnecesary limitation of imperial deliveries, lack of profitability balance between activities, or simply poorly designed boring content etc BDO is simply unable to light the faintest spark of fun in many of us, so my question is, why do BDO dont want us to play it? why cannot BDO simply be changed in a way that is fun? why cant it....

I think a lot of the answers you are gonna get can be boiled down to: "BDO is a very special game made by very special people for very special people".

Sums it up:

Not playing.

Returned to play at friend request -will  be playing oh 2 to 3 hours a day relaxing casual.

Maxed out on Characters each has special function 

Not happy about deleting a character to make a seasonal one to play with friend.

Doesn't bother with the rest of the op because 

I would of wiped out one character, made it my new seasonal and had fun with my friend.

I value playing with my friends more then a character. 

+1 Pretty much. You'd have to want a very dumb down RPG experience, that is mostly singleplayer until you get to endgame. Which is like 3,000 to 6,000 hours of actual hardcore grind, for the average gamer, that is not carriered by the Devs or their bank account.  BDO is like Elite Dangerous, a mile wide but only a inch deep.

You said, that u wont go deep in the game again and play 2-3h a day, so why dont just delite a boss char 

Cool propaganda, except quest gear allows you grind join Miru groups after a mere week of playing casually. Did I mention that this gear is free of charge ?

Lol imagine playing a MMO just to be confined to a single 100m by 100m grind spot for thousands of hours. If you don't want to get penalized for grouping. When you can just go play one of the many other MMOs out there where there are at least 20 or more areas and instances for you to grind with more than just 3 friends in. Without any penalties for grouping with each other.

Oh comeon i play since 2016, I got 7 character slots and dont sweat twice to delete 2 chars, 1 for the new class and 1 for new season. Ye sure it's a shame they dont gift any free character slots, but lvling is so fast nowadays, it's not a hassle to catch up characters into the same reason u use them for. 

In other words, since your singleplayer narrative fell apart you gotta move the goal post, got it.

Not gonna bother destorying your new narrative since you'll most likely move the goal post again rofl.
