I know a lot of people was excited to get their hands on the new class. A Pirate with big dreams. Sailor mains across BDO was hoping to maybe switch to it as their sailor character. Unfortunately Lahn is going to keep that position.
None of the movement abilities help her move from her boat to the wharf. As soon as she clears the edge of the boat she drops into the water like a rock. I've even tested out some of her cool water surfing abilities from a short pier. No dice. Unless the water is on the same level as your character you're gonna be swimming.
This brings to light a larger problem. Why do sailors have to get to the wharf manager to load and off load their boat? There's a mechanism in game currently that can be used to end this madness. When you go up to a barter point you drop anchor and have options to do your bartering or send your sailors out to do stuff. Why can't we when close to the warf manager on our boat drop anchor and be able to transfer our cargo to and from our ship, replenish rations and cannon balls, even repair?
Looks like the "Sailor" class isn't gonna be most people's sailor.
Side note don't like the swim feature. Have her in mermaid form under water with a set speed that's somewhere between base speed and fish/shark suit speed. This way the suit is still viable to get. I hate it when I'm swimming to a coral to harvest it and just before I reach it I transform and shoot past it cause of the speed and swaying motion. It's a nice idea but the reality can be annoying.
if anything i am way more disappointed at the leveling rewards, jesus fucking christ
I don't think PA ever said anything about that the new class would have extra abilities for Ocean things and I donth think it was made for only barter and Sea stuff.
Well she does come with an extra +1% ship stats thats 100mastery pts but yeah having to leave the wheel to repair and resuply is dumb also i hope they finally rollback the shrinking it doesnt help being a hobbit trying to get out of the mess of boats that plagues the wharfs

BDO has an extremely bare-bones physics engine for things that matter, like gravity, intertia and fluid interactions. Not sure what people expected. All dashes trigger the falling animation the moment they go off of a ledge or down a steep incline (unless the dash locks the character to the ground).
Transitioning from a pier into gliding on water would probably not be easy to even hard-code because of the engine. Just look at Lahn's "flight" - it's just an animation that is hard-coded to keep her at certain height for a set time. No intertia is maintained. If you're too high in the air you just drop vertically like a rock.
Kinda sad that even Vanilla WoW had a better physics unless we're talking boobs.
Update:
Someone has figured out how to get from the boat to the docks. You have to chain 2 abilities together to get it done and one is a Succession skill.
Prime: Wipe Out > Storm Surge
Below is a video of him overweight performing the action.

All dashes except corsairs which does neither of these things.
