Players who perish with less than 0 maritime sea karma will suffer an enhancing reversal penalty to equipped boat gear.
This means you lose boat gear progress when you die at a fixed rate. Much like going red on land but much worse.

Changes like this will kill all sea content for combat. This effectively removes the OWPVP aspect of pirate warfare.
We must voice our opinions here guys and get this REMOVED from BDO.

If this change goes through- we will see a unity of all red pirate players on the seas, we will no longer squabble among ourselves and instead, become one and unite to destroy all who want a "safe space" to sail...

PA needs to stop fighting the OWPVP and let it be.
You know i could of course agree to your point as i always support open world pvp however there is something to be said.
Those restriction are in place because people have difficoulties to use good sense.
For istance if you fight somebody for a challenge is all sport and games.
However cannonball someone in a fishing boat dosn't make you a pvper. It makes you just a griefer.
Pvp is a thing. Griefing is another.
And today people are not mature enough to play in a complete open pvp game so. The restrictions sadly are needed.
I hate getting killed by pirates while afk bartering, but this change really doesn't make sense to me. If PA is so against pirating, why not just disable PvP ship damage altogether? Or better yet, here's a suggestion.
Upon death:
Blue Karma: No loss of barter items or sailor health. Boat max durability goes down until repaired at wharf. Kahn cannons cannot be damaged by enemy ships.
Red Karma: Lose barter items and sailors become sick. Sailors now require 5x Elixirs of Regeneration to heal 1 sailor.
That way pirates can have their fun killing other boats, but blue players won't lose anything other than some time. On the flipside, if Blue karma players manage to track down and kill a pirate, then there's repercussions to their pirating activity.
They really dont get it. All they had to do was make trina axes 10-shot Carracks and it'd be fine, and make lvl 49 chars unable to repair ships.
Naval Karma shouldnt be a thing, it should all go off of your normal karma.
There needs to be some kind of mechanism that has to happen before gear degrades similar to losing crystals first, and thats the very least that needs to be added if this change is implemented. i.e all sailors have to be sick before there is chance to degrade.
Oh noes, please keep it going untill those griefers bring family wide karma into BDO, then you can banhammer them.
