I reported this as a ticket about 40 or so minutes ago.... and continued waiting around on Season 2 in case I could snipe a boss...

And now it has happened to a SECOND PERSON.

Here is my original report:

After 20 minutes, I did in fact see a shadow appear! BUT.... I still could not attack it.

Another 10 or so minutes pass, and another Corsair appears with a Sage. She summons and fights her shadow (I try to hit it, and as expected, I can't).

Then another Corsair appears.... and... NOTHING HAPPENS. She can't summon it either. Her black scale was also used.

I'm NOT alone... this IS a bug!

EDIT: I have posted here because a) there is no way to update my ticket before a GM responds, and b) wanted to give Shelly the opportunity to comment.

UPDATE: The other Corsair forfeited and re-did the quest, and I think it worked for her. She got another scale for sure, at least.

(I had previously not forfeited, because the scale was from 3 or more quests back in the chain, so I did not think it would be recovered.)

THIS is REPEATABLE.

Steps I took just now:

1) Forfeit quest

2) Get quest from Becao

3) Scale obtained! (YAY!)

3.5) wait for dark portal to not have anybody else near it

4) Interact with Dark Portal, and also Chat with it (R twice)

5).... shadow should appear.... however didn't.

So ... I'm going to forfeit again and try this quest for the 3rd time!

EDIT:

AND

1) Forfeit quest

2) Get quest from Becao

3) Scale obtained! (YAY!)

3.5) wait for dark portal to not have anybody else near it, also the 1 corsair fighting to finish off her shadow self

4) Interact with Dark Portal, and also Chat with it (R twice)

5).... once again, NO SHADOW summoned.

Going to swap to a non-season server for my 4th attempt...

EDIT 2: OH, in case it matters, I've been doing Fughar's accelerated main story quest... current one is "reach level 57".

EDIT 3: Swapping servers did the trick. Attempt 4, shadow was summoned.

1) Swap to a non-Season server

2) Forfeit quest

3) Get quest from Becao

4) Scale obtained! (YAY!)

4.5) Nobody around

5) Interact with Dark Portal, and also Chat with it (R twice)

6) Shadow APPEARED!

7) FIGHT!

we have the same problem

changing servers fixed the issue

Thank you for posting I was kind of scared to delete this quest as it is a major questline so I put a ticket in instead, I never got a response then found this, was 3 days that I waited and now I have completed it finally. :)

I'm glad my post was able to help someone. :D
