fishing can also be done active at hotspots

cooking is not afk  its actually considered semi afk at best due to weight issues and the speed of cooking cuz of mass cooking procs chewing through supplies  red sauce is pretty much the only thing u can afk on overnight cuz all its ingrediants weight so little

alchemy  same weight issue but u can def afk on it alot longer than cooking so ill give u that one  plus unless u minmax it to an extreme it can be hard to make profit off it

processing u run into weight issues as well since we got mass processing stones

training is in 2 parts   training ur horse is def afk or while u play another game  but taming horses is active  not afk

farming is not afk  its an active that u do for like 10 or 15 mins if that and then ignore till u need to do it again

sailing is an activity  usualy comboed with SMHing or sailies or with bartering

bartering is def boring  i wont argue there but its more semi afk than cooking is  just look at the oceans at people bartering and probably 90% of them are afk auto pathing to each and every island

hunting is def a good money maker if u put the time into upping ur mastery and it can easily rival the $$ of gathering if u know what ur doing... specially when it comes to wolf meat from featherwolfs..  plus hunting is better energy use than gathering due to u can do it for waaay longer

gathering is def boring as well  wont argue there   i usualy do roughly 6k meat a day and call it good since thats the bare minimum i need to reach the 200k wolf meat for a month of guru boxs

so yee  it mostly sounds like alot of the lifeskills u just dont like... and thats fine  not everyone likes the same stuff afterall

and i def agree alot of lifeskills need boosts to make them worthwile money wise but its a game in the end  if u like hunting  go do hunting  its simple as that

even if we go into the fine details about whether those activities are afk or semi afk the bottom line is the same, wich is the fact that we need more variety of fully active activities.

hunting is in a terrible position, the only decent place in the whole game (literally) is feather wolves , i have been dozens of hrs in several spots and feather wolves is by far the only one that is semi decent, now imagine having to stay there for the rest of your hunting life!!

the thing is that this game as many others is based on a core feature wich is progression, if that is gone then even hunting would feel meaningless, wich is why right now having all the day free i am replaying other games instead of playing bdo.

Since PvP in this game is an absolute joke in my particular case my options are grind+life skills, so what active options lifeskilling offer??

Throws out half of the game's content in one sentence

Also, few things you can try out; map discovery/knowledge gathering/questing/lore. You'd be surprised that BDO's world actually has quite a bit of content in it with regards to small details, especially around the older areas (Calp, ser, bal, mediah, kama to an extent).

And map knowledge always helps in most other activities :)

Its hard to maintain interest in the game when you hit the "Pen Accessory Wall"

Options:

Wait for 3 months to save up an item. (Grinding/lifeskilling about 1bil per day, like a 4-5 hours per day part time job)

Do this for 6 items.

18 months ..

Or

Quit

Thats it.

i dont rly have a problem with long term progressions, however if the content variety is so scarce i cant help but to get bored of it after few hundreds hrs.

to give feedback so that the game can be improved, unlike a leecher like you that just come here to provoke people and then benefits from the positive changes that feedback induced.

Calling feedback positive implies it has any value. Given the fact tha the premises are mostly wrong and based on misinformation, this is hardly valuable. Case in point, as anyone can witness by browsing my profile, I do lifeskill activities quite regularly and I usually never AFK unless I'm physically unable to interact with the game, which is almost never the case.

Same goes with Fearfull or EgoAstra whatever"s input: he probaly would derp around in useless places for 10 hours and then come back claming he's right. As an actual and social BDO player, I would conduct same experiment by going to popular places for 10 hours where people interact with each other and play together, as expected since BDO belong to the contegory of games that are fundmentally social by nature and called MMOs.

Fearfull already tried to spread same lies in the past in the same manner and went to places like Gahaz during an era where everyone was in Polly then stated with a straight face see I spent x amount of time at Gahaz and I met nobody therefore BDO is dead. HE was rightfully called out for his lies on top of his general lack of knowledge of state of the game which clearly doesn't prevent him to show up today and attempt to keep spreading them.

Additionally, his "BDO is only good for casuals" narrative clearly comes from the fact he never commited anything thus never achieved anything in several years in BDO and needs an excuse for his poor performance since he usually brags loudly about being a PGM with results and scores. At first he was highly delusional and ironically bragged about stating that BDO is best played ironically in the tray. See years after he's still a nobody bullied by grass beetles while more humble people yet harder at work got results.

This said, lifeskills as mechanics and activities still have room for improving but not the for misinforming reasons OP states. If they wished I would gladly teach them how to actively lifeskill in BDO. For example if you manage to believe that farming is an afk activity, it clearly means you're wasting your time waiting for crops to grow and get red for next to zero profits. This isn't how farming is done, as any competent player would tell you.

What makes BDO boring is the fact that there is no threat of attack anymore, OW PvP is too punishing that you don't have to worry about anything anymore, because no one wants to go red.  All the spice in BDO has been drained out of it by the carebears.

The only time open world pvp was actually a threat was within the first year with pvp death penalties, and that was gone pretty early.

For atleast 4 years (pretty much 80% of the game duration, OWpvp was more of an annoyance than anything else.

Besides, OWpvp is extremely rare to be a fair fight especially in a game with such power gaps (and im putting class balance aside for that), so its much morr of a ganking than pvp.

What the game lack pvp-wise are activities that put players that actually want it and know they had a chance to win there, be it special pvp grind zones with pvp objectives or more type of instanced pvp activities with more objectives than just TDM.
