Sadly the core game is based around enhancing. This feature is the least favorite of most players, and a major reason many newcomers quit.

Its just not going to last forever as long as you have a "chance" to progress and not guaranteed progression.

They are trying to make it better for example Seasons and the Pen accessory quest - they need to make everything like this in my opinion.

Remove RNG from enhancing and make it just only a grind like Caphras levels.

Soon as a new action MMO comes out that is good, alot of people who crave the action mmo feel are going to go and try it.

At that time if BDO isnt better anymore its going to decline rapidly.

Lets see what they can do.

Cash shop advantages generate the money for the company but also make people quit.

What keeps me here currently is the group of friends that i have been with over the last 3 years this also includes new additions to our guild over the past year. Those that understand leadership also have a responsibility to what they started along with those they stand next too, this is comaradery and Esprit De Corps for those that are Marines in the forums the above statement is not hard to understand. You cant replace the past with new but it is not hard to supliment an old feeling for a new one it just so happens that i found it in an unlickely source and place such as BDO.

BDO has its issue's those issue are intertwined with Korean politics as well as PA corp. politics, the Developers cant seem to get out of the way of there own game despite themselves and allow things that make the game popular to shine. That said regardles of what they do and how they operate BDO will continue to chug along missing 2 spark plugs out of 8, players that get to know and love BDO very but most keep coming back becouse no other game out there offers the Environment, Graphics, Combat sytem, stunning visuals and the full range of posibbilities of content that is here as it is regardless of how they control it.

There are no new MMO's on the horizon that will even come close to replacing BDO.

Lost Ark is a Top down not my fav type of gameplay soo nope.

Looks like Ashes of creations will end up being Tab combat sooo NOPE.

New World is gonna be a Micro transaction style game you guys bitch about BDO and cash shop well BDO will have nothing on New World but hey its Amazon they can screw up a wet dream.

Above were the 3 main titles coming, 2 of them this year and well lets be honest Ashes will be lucky in its current state to be out by 2023 at there current rate.

Old Title's like FF14 or WoW yah not happening unless PA shoots itself in the foot with Crimson Desert i dont see anything in the next 2 years pulling people away from BDO for extended periods of time Especially with all the catch up mechanics PA is pushing into the game.

I feel like New World is gonna be really good.

Also you know 100% the servers are going to be lag free, amazon owns like over half the cloud servers in the world

Well I don't see how a top down game like LA could beat BDO, but the facts shows that it did beat pretty hard in KR, their own home country.

It maybe just that the asian people have different taste. On the other hand, grindy P2W games like bdo ain't the western taste either, so...

And it's published by Amazon, so they probably fuck it up.

AOC not going to be playable realistically for 2years, but probably even more. Also that game is hyped for the nothing, and look more like a scam than a legit wow killer so far. Node system, crafting and what not... big words, but the overwhelming mayority of the players ain't like this kind of content. Politics suck, yeah there are some players playing eve, but that's the minority.

It will be also subscription based with a very expensive cash shop. Realistically it won't going to have large playerbase, and will be F2P within 2-3years release.

You are not right though. AOC will going to have action combat version aswell, it's just not in the alpha. On the other hand, the overwhelming mayority of the mmo players don't care if it's tab target or not.

It's alpha is so far just an asset showcase, they might just create a Connan Exiles server and call it an mmo, it would be pretty much the same as they show'd so far... (No connan is probabbly still better kek)

New World will be probably shutdown sooner than AOC releases, but I doubt it will be even close to being as P2W as bdo is.

Still Amazon don't even know what kind of game they develop, and they are 100% clueles what to do, and it will be disaster mostlikely.

Both wow and FF14 have much larger playerbase than what PA can even hope to have, and they are not just a mayority leecher playerbase, but monthly paying ones. Yeah wow is on down trend for sure, and I also shit talk it... but let's be realistic, even in it's current, terrible state, much more players play that game, than any other mmo...

What brings me back are new classes. I love playing multiple characters and a new class is a new adventure. I don't like the majority of classes but the ones I do I alternate.

Shai is my level 49 lifer that I use when I want to play but have to do other things at the same time because I can afk fish/cook/process and then come back and do active stuff like gathering.

I love Mystic because of her martial arts skills and her awesome speed. Closest thing in game to the Kung Fu Master from B&S which was insanely fun. She will be my main character if I ever have to pick a main otherwise she will just be my best geared and most used toon.

Nova is my summoner type which is the class I normally go for in games. She is a close second to Mystic and almost as used as her. She is the class I will use on difficult fights simlpy because she has the best survivability of all the toons I play.

Corsair is my pirate, though I hate sailing and water, lol. She will be my most used water toon. She will eventually be the best sailor of the bunch and my go to for water content and fights.

Guardian is my first toon and the one that has the most meaning for me. She has the first outfit I got when I bought the game and I enjoy her play style even though I haven't used her in a long while.

Musa is the ancient China type toon I like. And with the crescent blade I can enjoy some Three kingdoms/Dynasty Warriors themes. Love everything about that class and really enjoyable to play and just get lost in the content.

Some QoL changes I'd like to see and would possibly make me play more often are:

- Each class having their own quest log and the ability to turn off other classes quests. It gets confusing seeing quests from my other toons in my quest log.

- Ability to turn off the red outline/glow of low health. That has got to be the most annoying thing in game for me. Though it doesn't show up often for me it is also one of the things that makes me not want to play some times. At the very least give a slider I can adjust so I can drop that crappy warning to 1% health b4 it shows up.

- Smother animations. My Corsair gets stuck in mid air sometimes while getting attacked and I can't do anything but wait for her to touch land. Some of her skills also won't work if I'm moving and have to stop before I can use them which is a poor design imo.

- PvE only servers that are not season so I can continue to enjoy the game without worry of being ganked by some douche PvP greifer. I haven't been ganked yet but it is always in my mind and when it happens will probably just make me stop playing till the new season/class starts up so I can ONLY play on season and not worry about that crap. I play BDO for PvE not PvP. If I want to PvP I'll either look for a PvP server or play a PvP oriented game.

- If combat was a little more like Tera I'd just love the game completely but in BDO you're stuck in animations a lot of times where as in Tera you can cancel almost any if not all skills and dodge/block when needed.

To each their own.

Boredom, actually 2 days ago i re installed tera just to kill some time while season finishes and i can finally play my season character with real gear and i got instanly hookep up to it again, havent had so much real entertainment in a while, no chores disguised as dailies, not brain dead activities, no artificially created inconveniences, no stupid afk traveling, just action action and more action to the point where i didnt even log into BDO for the PEN accessory dailies.

Its a long term game, it makes me very happy to play.

1. Combat style, the actions/movement/capability. I don't just hammer one or two keys in a grind going in a circle. 

Thats boring, instead I use every action skill in a class with combat against the mobs. It makes me laugh and have fun.

Some skill utterly fail against certain mobs..Oops.

Other skills....

I got a big kick out of how the latest class Corsair could jump, bounce off a wall with her feet and land back in the middle of enemy. Spent a good hour entertaining myself in protty cave recreating that action over and over seeing if I could do it again and  what else I could do with it.

2. Lifeskilling/knowledge/quests.

I take the long route on everything, doing all the quests, journals etc. and its kept me in the game for lifeskilling/knowledge for over a year and 9 months now.

The more i do, the more challenges open up and show on the knowledge list and the more power my character gets in those game bonuses to stats.

I'm still not done yet. So much to do.

3. The RNG of the game doesn't bother me at all. I like it in many ways.

Key is zero expections from RNG.

My game is run on things i can depend on. 

Lifeskilling & combat, have a baseline always get results.  There is always silver for trash loot and selling crafting/trade/fish etc. items from lifeskilling and daily pay from black spirit in the safe.

My regular boss gear slowly gets upgraded by caphras, its all tet, caphras are dependable slow progress.

And yes, I'm doing the blackstar upgrade by those mats. I see the bonus and willing to go for it.

I also am doing the long term pen accessory and the future quests for fallen god armor as well.

It amuses me to play the game this way.
