Corsair Awakening and New Druid Class Ideas

So I've been thinking, and unlike many players, I really love the Corsair. I love water powers in games, so obviously the Corsair hit the mark for me. She is very fun to play with, and she has just enough flashy water powers to be fun to play over and over again. Also, I love that she can turn into a mermaid, it was the icing on top of the cake for me, and I am really eager for her awakening to know the rest of her story after the "cliffhanger" that was her Succession.

 

Speaking of the Corsair's awakening though, I would love the full pirate theme to be explored to the max: I'm talking about pistol/gun attacks, alongside maybe like falling treasure chests to deal AOE damage, or treasure inspired attacks, and since she now has her crew of otters back, she could call on them to fire cannons onto the battlefield! If creatively thought about, this approach has a lot of potential! This is what I'd personally love to see for Corsair's awakening.

 

On another note though, I would like to pitch the idea of a nature focused class, like a summoner/AOE damage dealer. In Black Desert, we already have a lot of variety in terms of elemental powers: we have the Maehwa and Musa with "wind powers" and their awakenings with ice and "fire" powers respectively, the Wizard/Witch with lightning and fire powers (the latter has an earth guardian and an Indiana Jones boulder type attack, but I wouldn't call it nature powers per say), Berserker's awakening also with fire powers, etc... Plus, these aforementioned elements are, in my opinion, insufficient to base a whole class on them. So, the only thing I really feel is missing is someone with nature/plant based powers, the only one that reeeeaaaaally barely scratches the surface is the Dark Knight with some flower themed attacks, but that's almost nothing. 

 

My idea would be to have a character that would summon plants to attack enemies and summon trees/vines/poison flowers/carnivore plants/plants in general to deal AOE damage. Maybe some polen attacks, or poison beam as basic attack (if they made them a ranged character). Finally, just add a little geomancy (maybe for the Awakening, or even in the main kit) and it would be a very interesting class to play with in my opinion!

 

Finally, the name that I suggest for this class is "Druid"!

i wouldnt mind if they didnt release a new class for a year and focus exclusively in making the game less anti-fun, 90% of it all revolves around wasting your time

 

- wanna do rifts? you better be rdy for at least 40 min of autopathing

- wanna do imperials, well you are kinda late buddy, how about you spend 2hrs hoping into multiple channels to sell your boxes?

- wanna do bartering?? i hope you have a nice plushy pillow close to you in case you want to take a nap before reaching your destination

- wanna kill bosses?? with that horse? bet you didnt know we have an offer for horse skill re-roll items!

 

like i dunno man, new clases are nice and all but unless you grind like 100% of your time i think the game needs some other fixes first.

Well I played with teh Corsair non stop for 2 weeks and Im pretty dissapointed. Half her attacks are the exact same skill and animations and the only usefull skills are the Mermaid skills which should be her awakening DUH. A mermaid with a trident or just the whales. But they crammed that into her succession skill set because they needed something to fill out the succession tree. I've been having much more fun with my Valky I used the time piece on.

I'd like a nature druid class.

 

I'd *love* a half-dragon humanoid race with wings and claws that can glide on its wings. PLEASE let the wings not disappear. 

Also, a class with a giant dire wolf as its pet. Archer had me so hyped, and then I was let down. I want a wolf combat pet pretty please. Or even better, a whole pack.

I love both ideas, The otters could come out like strikers clones or Nova's chest pieces. And if she got pistols like a true Corsair, I'd flip! The druid plant based attacks would be nice addition.

Oh jeez! The half-dragon humanoid seems like an amazing idea aswell!

Also I wanted Tamer to be focused on Heilang attacking instead of her attacking channeling it to attack herself, so any pet class would be welcome, which was somewhat what I had in mind with the Druid class aswell!

I wouldn't mind seeing another pet based class like Tamer, but with a more Ranger/Hunter theme to it like DragonFarmlands mentioned above.  I miss games like City of Heroes whose expansion had the Mastermind class which combined pets and support nicely with 3 different always available pet tiers and a variety of pets to choose from.  Something like that in BDO would be a lot of fun and something different.

 

Another thing I'd like is a true long range caster class similar to DnD Warlock.  Shooting long range beams and blasts from your hands is always nice.  Sage is interesting, but limited to short-mid range combat and some attack animations lack the punch of a long range caster.  For versatility it could include traps/devices/runes to help in close combat and for crowd control.  Themes could be flexible though it might be interesting to see an automaton class like a humainoid in stle of Khutum or the sentient machines in Hasrah.  Also might be nice to have the caster be an magical trickster combing illusion and stealth with long range blasts.  Unlike Witch/Wizard this would be more heavily focused on long range and arcane power (or moon themed) not elemental themed.  Could also have powers alternate between Sun and Moon themes.

 

Also, how about a telekinetic caster class as a druid who floats throught the air, sends weapons to attack enemies on their own, pulls, throws and binds enemies with mental powers and stops or reflects projectiles.  Maybe has a whip in hand, with sickle and daggers on belt to control mentally and/or in off hand

I would also LOVE a Moon based class, but I would say more on the lines of gravity, moon beams, moon slams, stuff like that.

About the telekinetic caster, I would love to see a Blademancer, like you said, but instead of objects throwing blades/swords.

Or even better, mix both! A Moon class with moon attacks and that uses gravity to control and direct blades!
