The port in Velia and other small locations that may have a parked ship.. it just takes up so much space because people do not put their ships away after done..

Making the ships ration decay while parked, I believe would somewhat help with those who actually have sailors on their boats and make them put the boat away when finished to prevent them from being sick.

Sure, this might suck in certain situations like you go to an island to do a quest and park it temporary, but perhaps make the rations decay at a slower rate while it is parked. or maybe only decay while in certain ports.

Atleast something should be done so there can be less ships parked in the harbors so you can actually reach the wharf or even access your ship and get out of the harbor...

Ive been saying this forever the docks are a ugly mess because people dont put their boats away. Honestly they should be force put away  after like 5- 10 minutes if they are parked in a major town/city.

Just let Rihuhu sink all ships that have been in port for longer than 15 minutes with no sea fame penalty. Problem solved.

Please no. This would be terrible for people who do stuff like fish with their boats. Sure, it would be great if PA figured out a way to discourage players from leaving their ships out at the wharf that actually worked, but this suggestion would screw over players who aren't doing anything wrong. Also, I question that it would actually work. I mean, unless you're dumb, you're going to refill your boat's rations before leaving whether you left it out or not, so all it would do is cost a bit of silver - and not enough to matter much.

What would make far more sense IMHO would be to simply make it so that if a boat were within some reasonable distance of a wharf manager without anyone at the wheel for 15 or 30 minutes or whatever, the boat would forcibly be put into the wharf for the player (possibly damaging the boat in the process if they actually want to punish the player for not bothering to do it themself). It wouldn't screw over players who actually behave themselves, and it would outright remove boats that get left out to boot rather than simply discouraging players from leaving them out.

This still wont punish people who just park sliightly outside safezone or wharf zone that will still just screw everyone going to the wharf.

Here's better, if the captain is further than a set distance from the ship, it will be remote collected to nearest wharf after like 15 min instead. And to make it less punishing, at the 10 min mark give a popup reminder that can extend ship auto collection by 5 min and the popup keep coming every 5 min. This is to not punish people who like forgot or got desynced away from their boat

Even better would be, if they would be charged silver as parking fee, if they remain in the safezone for more than 15minutes.

That would be even more realistic.

And for the fisher guy: you don't fish in a heavy trafic harbor, even in IRL, so that's not an argument.

That would get annoying very fast for anyone doing something like underwater gathering or grinding Sycraia. And doing anything as simple as going to the bathroom would then potentially cause you to lose your boat. For PA to do much of anything that affects boats not close to a wharf is going to be a problem. They need to do something that improves the situation around the wharfs without negatively affecting the rest of the sea content. Personally, I would much rather see the current situation continue than have general boat stuff screwed with just to reduce the congestion at the wharfs in a few towns. And while I agree that the current situation is a problem, moving to a less crowded server usually fixes the problem. So, screwing over general sea content just to try to fix the situation at the wharf seems like a terrible idea.

The ideal solution would probably involve other people's boats simply not existing for you in a safe zone. That would get a bit tricky given that you still need to be able to give other people rides on your boat for Vell or whatever, but in general, having other people's boats be visible to you or having collision with you at a wharf is just annoying. Maybe they could implement something similar to the option where you hide other adventurers except that it also removes collision so that the boats actually have no effect on you. Then you could toggle that to make all of the boats disappear from the safe zone except for your boat or a boat that you're already on.

Regardless, if they consider a solution that involves forcibly putting away boats or sinking them or reducing their rations or whatever, I would very much hope that it has no effect whatsoever when the boat is not close to a wharf, because otherwise, it will screw over the actual sea content rather than simply helping to fix the congestion at wharfs.
