the dungeon

out of interest (i quitted early coz i found only players instead of mobs): what do you think makes the place a "dungeon" ? i tried it, and it was just like a regular open world spot, with NO elements whatsoever of what i'd expect in such a thing.

 

e.g. put some quests on a hystria npc and add a summon scroll. what's the difference?

 

I actually like doing difficult content in a party, and was pretty hyped about it. i imagined something like AOB, with tons of trash mobs, mixed up with some bosses in between, a replacement for stupid rotation grinding. with a selected group of friends, away from the grief fest.

 

instead, my experience was: ported in, mobs all dead, full of players trying to killsteal each other and interfering with quest puzzle. NO difference to a random open world spot, and basically limited to 30 instances for the entire world (= servers)

Yea in truth, the content is simply not "worth it" in any capacity; normal more or otherwise. They simply need to remove the PVE death penalties in the entire dungon and it would be a 100% more enjoyable experience for most. Everything you said is true, you can iframe/dodge aoes and get through with a compitent team, but one....ONE mistake can cost you hundreds of millions in some cases. The risk vs reward is simply unrealistic to ask players to do. 

 

In PVE content there is almost always risk of losing crystals due to death however, if you say die at Blood Mo because of XYZ reason and you loose crystals the assumption is you can recoup that loss through continued grinding. Loosing 300mil in crystals for every billion you earn is an acceptable risk vs reward, and a system that works for BDO's core gameplay loop. This dungon simply doesn't fall into that and completely reverses the risk vs. reward mechanics that 100% of all BDO players are accustomed to at this point. That is why this content is doomed to fail because it simply doesn't work in it's current form in the scope of how BDO is structured. BDO is a Time = Reward structure.  Every activity in the game is broken down into $M/Hr. or XP/hr...and right now dungons are by far the lowest in both categories and it is really unfortunate.

 

TLDR: remove the PVE penalties and/or DRASTICLLY boost the XP rates (at least double of any other zone in the game) in the entire dungon and it will at least ensure there is a small core of BDO players who will do the content because they enjoy it. As of now, there is no reason to even finish it because it simply isnt worth it.

imagine, just imagine, you are below 600gs and you have to go ONLY normal, cuz elvia blows you hard.

 

I think you are misled by your gear.

You didn't mention musket, did u use it?

Did you use the potions for the horns? Did you like that there is only 1 npc that you can not teleport to, although you get horns in 90% of the dungeon.

Did you like the CC and dmg from puturum elite?

Did you like those flying stupid birds?

Did you like for normal monsters ignore your protection?

Did you enjoy getting knocked down by random spawning rock and then 2 others hit you on the ground to kill you (prolly not cuz they actually didn't hurt you I guess)?

Did you like the mechanic of the adds guy in the boss room? 

Did you like crystal destruction by random CC or some jackass who pulled 1 or 2 packs with puturum on us or something.

 

All of that is semi bad or plain bad and you never addressed it, what leads me to, you just got gearcarried + party carried.
