There are a lot of things about new world that are severly lacking, Yes i tried it and the battle mechanics were terrable and the PvP amounted to tap run away get a friend then the others run away. The combat animations are too slow and not fluid, quest system is worse than BDO and that is saying a lot.

Over all i give new world a 4 out of 10 at current closed Beta this is the final product maybe 2 or 3 years down the road it might be worth looking at again but at this point it lost me after the 1st 5 hours of game play.

I fully agree with you, New World needs a ton of polish. However, it's a fresh breath of air where combat isn't some stun-lock episode, where an MMORPG feels naturally social, and everything doesn't revolve around a depressing system to progress. You are also right that it might take 2-3 years for New World to become as polished as it needs to, but in the meantime, it's a nice reprieve from BDO.

In the meantime, I hope the devs look at the enhancement system as cancerous to BDO as a whole and make adequate changes. How likely is that to happen though? Revenue revolves heavily around melting costumes and other methods of using real cash. I don't see that system going away any time soon. You can tell everyone to just buy gear off the marketplace, but can everyone really do that? Nope, not even.

Yah I agree I can't fault a game in beta, there are a ton of games out in beta currently and some that prob should still be in beta.

New World in its current form is just not enough for me to invest time and money into and again I got fully involved with BDO 8 months to a year after it came out of beta and went live.

As in all MMO's there is a long period of development even after the game went live BDO got a remastered version 2 and a half years after publishing in NA and BDO is still getting updates rework and fixes.

This will happen with New World only time will tell what will happen after it goes live and what nit wit stuff Amazon comes up with. All you can hope is that the developer actually listens to its community unlike what it feels PA is currently doing .

This enhancement system makes them some serious money.  I have to assume they aren't dumb.  That they hire experts and professionals who specialize in squeezing as much dollars from your bank account as possible.  BDO's enhancement system, where it forces players to rely on pure luck for the large part, makes them money...a LOT of money.  Enhancing can be really frustrating, it isn't fun, and look....there's a cash shop that'll make enhancing easier (Crons) and more forgiving (Artisan's), banking on most human's tendency to want as little trouble as possible when it comes to doing things.

No one really likes the enhancement system as a whole.  A few may, like Salt and Biohack, but enhancing is what they do for a huge majoirty of their gameplay, and this style is highly unorthodox.  Most players grind mobs / lifeskill, buy or gamble for gains.  Salt and Bio have a system unattainable by the vast majority of players.

The reason they keep it, and do not try to ACTUALLY improve it, is simple = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

To the author of the topic: Nice rant. Well detailed at that. Is it really true this is yet to happen? :D If it is, I will just say this: Better don't change the enhancing at all. Waste of time.
