I really like it when people who think they are smart and clever give others advice: stupid, out of date and economically unprofitable.
Its just some methods of how to get the enchanting materials-advice of valks, crons, memory frags by from the game itself-doing combat (maybe some afk fishing thrown in) instead of spending *real money*.
Its the player choice on how they want to do something.
There's a variety of ways, get memory fragments from the marketplace,order costumes to melt down for crons, on and on, all for silver.
The key point is "not costing *real money* to the player*.

no, everything can be solved by grinding, you are just lazy and want to make the game easier, go play wow/ff14
The problem is, it's not enough to grind, I have 314 fs and still fail pen while some people get pens on 100fs. How is this fair ? I can't farm on better spot which puts me even in bigger disadventage. I did farm potion parts for 400h and only got 1 part, while people got hp pot after 40h.

I can't believe PEN and Dim tree is still pretty much endgame after all these years. I thought they would have added levels 21-5 by now. Looks like I didn't miss much.

Or just make clear separations between pve and pvp gear and allow high end pve gear to be more attainable. It seems the people who like the current system, IMO, are pvpers who have grinded for long periods of time to get their gs. So it stands to reason they wouldn't want someone to stay the game and get to where they are inside of a week. And I agree with that. But I purely pve and could careless about pvp. PVP is for the competitive, which I am not, PVE is for the casual no reason the way to enhance gear, and it's penalties, should be the same for both IMO.

The enchament system purposely built the way to encourage using the "convenience" store.
This is a korean P2W grinder. Either deal with it or leave.
FF14 awaits you with open hands.
As someone who plays and loves FF14 the grass is not greener on the other side its very easy to get bored of that game unless you find people you enjoy playing with

- Ehancement fails and the item losses an enhancement level. - Solved by buying cron stones.
Solved without spending *real money* by buying cron stones from the blacksmith for silver.
- Enhancement fails and 10 durability is lost - Solved by buying memory fragments.
Solved without spending *real money* by doing those scrolls dropped by mobs you did combat on in mediah, valenica and karmasylvania. Forbidden book, Ancient Relic Crystal Shard (what? you don't do fishing???) Scroll written in Ancient Language, Manshaum Voodoo Doll. Put 5 pieces together of a type, make the scroll, beat up the mob, get those memory frags. Make a party and have everyone bring their mob scrolls. Its happy memory frag overload in a party if all your buddies are combat nuts and have 50 scrolls each.
- Memory Fragments repair so little - Solved by buying Artisans memories.
See above about how to get multiple memory fragments. Get Artisan memory from loyalty shop with your loyalty points.
And I didn't list any of those things coming from the chests/black spirit adventure/events etc.
So you spend upwards of 50-100 mill silver to get those boss scrolls, only for the boss to give you 3 mem fragments. You can posibly do one or two Awakened bosses per day if you had to. At the end of the week you might have 20 memory fragments and then you'd go broke. you could take the easy route and have guildies give you all the silver or cheat and pay someone real money for the silver (I dont advise this). So you see I COULD spend every waking moment of my life grinding for silver to pay off the rediculous upgrading costs or suggest that the enhancement process needs to be inproved and less agregious. Which is why I made this thread here in the first place. If enough people voice thier concerns Pearl Abyss may adress this and improve the enhancement process.
I'm sorry I cant afford to cheat and buy Silver from Silver sellers with my moms credit card.
FYI I have been saving up all my free cron stones since 2016 and used ALL 3000 of them getting my 3 Tuvala weapons to PEN. So theres no more of that.

Each of these is why we HATE the enhancement system, they were deliberately put in the game to milk us of REAL money.
If PA took out even one of these horrible things the community would florish. This is what is killing the game.
Sometimes they loosen thier strange hold and give as an event to lessen the impact that enhancement has but it still returns to this horrible system.
This is why BDO is loosing players, PA is loosing customers, and thier respect was lost long ago.
Its a lottery where if you loose some one comes and kicks you in the balls.
You forgot :
- switch character to save FS is annoying, lets SELL FS save slot
- need more than 50 advise, lets SELL 100 advise in the cash shop.

You destroyed him... No one could say it better, u can spend money or invest a bit time, bdo is not a mmo that u play to the end gear in few month.
And on my side, bdo is my first mmo i was playing beyond soft cap some of my acc are hardcap, my weapons are beyond c15 and i did it with pain without spending money, my old guildys told me a crazy shai, when i ask for help on my 200pila scrols
