Is it though? I mean do you have a recording of PA's owner talking with Kako's owner as to why they cut ties with each other? Cause after all if it was just a matter of wanting to be independent from other companies why does mircosoft constantly make deals with other companies on a regular bases? There one of the biggest companies in the world why do they waste their time signing contracts and making deals with other companies and out sourcing work? Surely there big enough to do all the work themselves right?

Balance started to happen with the introduction of mystic, because at the time Witchards were strong, but when Striker/Mystic came along, they finally had something to counter them with Mdef, everyone was able to counter eachother. But then Witchards cried that they were no longer OP.

They're always cry that they're not OPed. I've literally seen casters asking for shai nerfs, because there no longer the only class in the game that can shit out group buffs and heals. I also see them asking for skills that make them immune to grab, as if there the only classs in the game that struggles against grab. And they fail to realize what their asking for is basically just easy zero brain win mode, sense without the ability to grab a caster there physically zero counter in the game against them.

Simply put this game PVP is dying fast because it ruled mostly by 5 classes witch, wizard, Ninja, guardian, and valk. 2 of these five classes are completely OP in ways that make zero sense with having the highest DPS in the game, the most and biggest AOE skills, the most protected skills in the game, the strongest utility in the game, the most CCs that are also completely protected, and if you play succ versions of them they have some of the best most protected movement in the game. The only counter to these 2 OP classes that we all know to be witch, and wizard is and equally broken mechanic called grab which the only counter to grab is stacking grapple resistance and praying to RNG that you resist the grab.
What left when the PVP scene completely dies is PVE but with Crimson Desert coming out this year which will be similar to BDO in design (sense it made by the same company) most of the people that enjoy BDO's PVE will flock over to that game than anyone who remains cause they feel invested will slowly trickly over to crimson dersert do too a dropping # in players on BDO.
Simply put if PA doesn't nerf the two OP classes in this game this year this game will die. But sense PA response on balancing this game in 2018 when they were laughed out of E-sports for think BDO was a balanced game was "We are aware that BDO isn't a balanced game and that some classes preform far better than others on multiple levels and in more scenarios. However, we have no interest at this time in balancing the game cause we are currently hard at work developing future content." (AKA making new classes to promote inventory slot sales and other character bound only items.) An that has been their stance on balancing this game since 2018 to now I can't see them fixing the issues pledging the PVP community anytime this year.
So when Crimson Desert comes out with a better more refined and improved PVE systems to BDO's I can't see this game surviving this year unless they some how completely fuck up Crimson Desert and it dead on arrival. But, hey maybe their plan is to kill BDO to make room for Crimson Desert, tbh I wouldn't be surprised sales for BDO cash shop have greatly decreased sense whales are now sitting at full PEN with nothing else to upgrade.
I mean you're not wrong. There's no reason to have a class that has OP ranged AOE damage, Protected movement, CC for days, Big AOE heals for days and Big AOE protection. It's literally all aspects you could want in a single class. The only reason not to play it is personal preference or challenge.
Wizards are typically 100% ranged AOE dps, squishy and with some utility. That's what balances them out. Balanced healers are best as either squishy powerful healers & support or tanky healers with less healing potency but better survivability and utility. Combining all of those things into a single class just makes it broken. I don't know how they can't see that this class is breaking their game and stagnating PvP. Sure we need a class that can protect a raid to do pushes. but those should be tank classes. Yes we need healers but those should be healing focused. and yes we need big ranged AOE but those roles need to be separated.
This is why the holy trinity was created and why it's such a good game mechanic and why it works so well because it fosters teamwork and cooperation and community. The reason why BDO is basically a solo mmo is because you don't need anyone else to do anything. It's honestly an isolating game in many ways unless you have a very active PvP guild with solid goals and charismatic leadership. And those are very few and far between. I've been in many "dead guilds" in this game where people barely talk to each other or do anything together accept for the occasional node war. And much of this is because there isn't really much need for cooperation to do anything. Its basically a solo grind wheel.

Actually there not, sometimes the service your buying is sometimes you paying someone to buy and manage your product for you thus kako published BDO an owned the servers for the game in the NA/EU regions and not PA despite, PA owning BDO it self. An there could be many reasons why they cut ties with each other beside it being cheaper for PA to own run the servers themselves. Maybe Kako didn't like how PA was developing the game and didn't want to be assoicated with it anymore. Maybe PA didn't like that Kako was running cheap ass poorly deisnged servers that barely functioned and wanted to take it over cause it made their game look bad. There could be a million reasons for the separation beside just money and cost.
The move to self publish was 1,000% with the intent to remove the middle men and improve their overall revenue. This doesn't mean the product will be any better, they will simply keep more money to the share holders/owners.
There is no other alternative reasoning. This one is pretty simple $$$$.
It's the same for every region. And it makes financial sense. Why bother paying another company for something they can provide? It's not customized software or something they can't do. They have reached a size at which they can self publish. They have enough employees and revenue while a smaller company may not.
That's why people use services like Steam. Steam provides exposure and sales, but takes a cut. However, Blizzard for example may not feel that type of service is necessary.
