So your using Shadow Arena as a way to promote some misguided idiotic attempt to claim BDO is going to die and he is right??

Yet you guys using steam numbers as justification for things makes little to no sense. Shadow Arena was popular as PART of BDO, The rewards were great and Having access to SA from BDO itself gave access to all players and really gave something else to do in game but of course speedhackers wrecked it.

Shadow Arena by itself sucks for a whole host of reasons one of them being it was never truly advertised within BDO, it was never linked or were there any events stating it was available. Since i dont use steam myself (i am website) i never even knew it was live until months after it came out of beta and that was a word of mouth from an old GM of a previous guild.

No one that plays BDO is going to spend $$ to buy another game that was at one point free to play when it was a part of BDO. IF they would of offered players within BDO to play for free or as part of a value pack or season pass you may have been able to get those numbers higher BUT again because it was removed from BDO and you get zero benefits for playing a fortnight style game it lost attention fast.

Crimson Desert is going to follow the same path, its going to be very popular for when it comes out BUT if it comes out on steam only it will lose 50% of the player base that doesnt use steam. Then when players finish the single player RPG portion the content will run its course when people realize that its not and MMO then interest will drop and you will have what has happened to Shadow Arena.

Steam numbers have been steady for some time if you want to look at the real steam numbers then lets look at the over all since it came out in 2017 then lets also note that the actual current numbers are up now especially on daily/last hour or peak but if you notice that the current level matches the level that the game started with and has gone up and down based upon what new games are out OR what updates/expansion to other games happened including games like WOW or others.

Now mind you this is NA/EU steam server base ONLY AND Steam numbers only account for those visible ANYONE THAT IS MARKED INVISIBLE ARE NOT COUNTED IN THESE NUMBERS and a lot of players are invis..  There are many players that play BDO that dont use steam those numbers we absolutely have no idea how many are online WORLD WIDE using the only indicator possible is PA P/L statements from 3rd quarter of 2020 there income from BDO is 96.2 bil KRW OR 86 mil USD per quarter looks roughly 45% was NA/EU income so 38.7 million or about 9.7 mil per month income from NA/EU alone. 

You can take that number any way you like and say every player buys a VP and other stuff to a tune of lets just agree on an avg of 100 usd per month (NOTE: i realize there are whales that spend more but there are those that spend nothing or little) this would lead you to say there are over 97k active players in NA/EU. 

Now that we have some sort of Base number rest of PA's income is just over another 55% you could justify that there are a possible ~213k active players playing BDO world wide.

NOW you can argue that there are Whales playing BDO that i can not disagree but there is an absolute avg. and my guess the total over all player base is in between 180k-220k active players purchasing Acoin or pearls per month world wide. Now if you want to talk about how dead BDO is and use games like WOW to justify popularity WOW current in game total is 202k logged in at the time of this post and it fluctuates between 160-350k.

IDK it looks to me that BDO is pretty alive and healthy, the numbers are consistent considering were you claimed the pandemic is crushing BDO i kinda think your completely wrong and you guys need to really drop the BDO is dying bit.
