[Feedback] A humble thank you to PA

To the Pearl Abyss Team,

I do not post on forums much for any game. I am more of a silent observer than a talkative supporter. However, I have noticed that you seem keen on feedback from the community about what we love/dislike about the game. As I very much enjoy BDO and wish for it to succeed I wanted to leave my feedback here in hopes that it is at the very least, read.

I have been playing on/off since BETA, and have always admired the gameplay and graphics. For an MMO with a vision focused on progression trhough grinding and PvP; the combat was the absolute main point you had to get right and you did so beautifully. Since BDO has been out I have been trying to find myself a class to main and eventually settled on Wizard as I have been playing only Mage classes since my early days as a child playing Runescape (Mage lvl anyone?). However I did not enjoy Wizard awakening at all, it was a massive shift in gameplay and since Succ did not exist at the time, stock Wizard was just way to weak to play in any form of high (at the time Susans) content. Yes, you could get away with doing it but you were handicapping yourself, especially when you had to duel for the spot.

Awhile later you added Succ and it was what brought me back to play. I loved Succ Wizard, and yet I hated it. It had to much in it's kit to be allowed to exist as a top tier 1v1 spec with all of the sustain and utility it had. For me personally it was the equilavent of having a LAN party with friends but my computer had all the best components and connection. So I left again, when I PvP in duels and won I wanted it to feel like it was because I outplayed my opponent, not because I could outsustain. I believe the majority of people here would agree classes with high amounts of sustain in any MMO are unhealthy unless they are a healer or have subpar damage (tanks). So I decided to wait for another class to release that could satisfy my desire for a magical themed class that was a great duelist. (Yes Sorceress existed but I wasn't a big fan of her I can't really tell you why, she just didn't click for me.)

Enter Awakening Sage.

This is the reason I play BDO for two simple reasons.

1) I love lightning spells, if there was a word for a lightning obsession like "pyromaniac" then that is what I am. Awakening sage brought with it the theme I have been waiting for so long in BDO, a true lightning Mage. I cannot express my joy to this day still that I love the theme, sound, and graphical design of this class, I do hope whoever the team was behid sage designs many more classes, they did a wonderful job.

2) My main focus is duels, I have never been a big BG player, I enjoy 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 fights much more. So as you can probably tell, I was worried when I saw awakening sage in the trailer that it would be AOE focused and be best for RBF, and I am happy that this is not the case. In my experience and from what I have seen from other Sage players, the Sage is an amazing duelist. If you can play it properly much like the way the Sorceress plays

These two concepts may sound simple enough, but there is no MMO out there currently that has both of these two points. Either there is no lightning mage, or there is and he/she is a terrible duelist. So while there are many things that make BDO fun for players, I wanted to highlight to you my own (and others whom I know who love the sage for these two reasons as well), since you are looking for feedback how grateful we are that the Awakening Sage is thematically Zeus who likes to 1v1.

I know there are many of us here who want BDO to be successful and there are many topics on what people think of the cash shop/p2w mechanics of the game. As a software developer myself, I know how it feels to recieve bad feedback on your code and ideas, which is what BDO boils down to when you get to the really fine details. So I wanted to make sure you had some good feedback to read as you look through the forums and know that there are those of us who are silent because we are enjoying what we have been looking for in a combat focused MMO.
