I think we seen these kind of event way to many times I stop to take part in them. I find hard to see any fun in them and it's a shame it turn out to be non social event but a afk event, I wouldn't even call it a event.
What PA needs to do is to get the GM into the game and let them make some events that are social and fun.
nah it keeps my gdrive warm even in tray.. full 3 weeks with no brakes. When everyone is crowded in 1 spot.
The spot where everyone is crowded is actually the worst spot. The furthest you can go while still being within the event zone gets much better bite times.
Well I don't want to be the guy, but they probably not gonna reset the quest for the bikini next year(like they didn't reset for years), or if they do, then it would require a different item (just as they did with the current reset due to reworked temiran).
Bikini quest has reset every year so far. This was my 3rd one.
Today my friend (same one mentioned in my prior post) said, he would recommend they change the fishing event for 5 to 10 different types of fish from all over the map. Such as catching piranha in Tarrif or Jellyfish Velia and this would spread the AFK fishers out over the map. I told him it was a sound idea, why not voice it to the developers?
His reply was, "They don't read the forums! Those are just there for less than 10% of the playerbase to vent."
I don't know how accurate his statement is, nevertheless I wouldn't know a developer posting here, if it bit me on the ass.
Have fun!

They have done fishing events that are spread out before. Like in the waters of all the major cities that wasn't Valencia for example. So, not sure why they don't do that more often.
@Franklins,
I tried something you said back on the first page of the thread. I went to the Settings -> Hide Adventures switch. I don't see it working at all. It says, depending on the circumstances?? I am very confused about this setting, if you or anyone else can shed some light on what it does would be great.
I do know from farting around with my settings, I can tweak them between 6 to 25 FPS on my GPU. I admit my GPU is old passive Nvidia card. While I might get better results from a newer graphics adapter, but the cost is not worth the only game that would benefit from buying one. Also I am not a big fan of cooling fans, they normally make a lot of noise. I am happy with the graphics and frame rate I am currently getting. I don't own a 4K monitor so there is little point to boosting the display beyond my 1080p.
They do have a lot of options in there, while I do find the settings puzzling, one just has to tweak, until you get the results you want the most.
As always, have fun!

The 'hide adventurers' function isn't systematical, it need to be triggered by a CPU event where it struggles to render many players.
This means you need to set up the option then enter a crowded area. if you activate the option while players are already rendered it won't trigger.
This said, such events do no harm to players not enjoying them, they can simply not attend them instead of wanting to remove enjoyment from people who like them.
Furthermore, since the event isn't only about fishing but also doing dailies, spreading fish spots obvisouly don't make sense unless you create 1 event area with quests per fishing spot otherwise people will start crying because they have to be arsed to travel to quest area.

My guess is that it's a combination of them wanting players to actually engage with the stuff at the festival site rather than simply fishing and of them wanting the fishing to be as exhausted as possible to minimize what players actually make from the fishing. I expect that players make more from the fishing events where the fishing sites are spread out instead of shoving most of the player base into a single spot.
You CPU and GPU are basically idle with BDO in tray but ok.
lol what? That's not the case for me. It runs just about the same % if not worse sometimes.
