At first glance, I would be in favor of this, then I thought it over, instead I say forget anyone that wants a refund and just change it to unknown adventurer, like has been asked for since day 1 ghillie suits went live.
Yeah screw the 80% of the player base that wants to keep ghillies the way they are.

its been updated and they will put unknown adventurer or something similar after all. too many people got super pissed they backed out of ghillie changes and people have been asking for these change since forever.
finaly devs listened. good change and will make pvp way more pleasant. (i have multiple ghillies and main a class that teleports and is hard to track as well, so i personally lose by removal of ghillie effect as well, but i hate it so much and i am happily awaiting for the next patch that puts nameplate on camo users)

Strikers who play season all collorbated en masse and sent a poorly written letter (they are striker mains, so this is to be expected) complaining that this change ruins the game and they will request refunds.
Joking aside, I literally just had a conversation on the fourms about having a tool that is a "gem of true sight" and would be affected by vision range to unhide guhille players. My friend suggested glasses (as you did) to unveil ghillied players.
Honestly, fixing flares is something that needed to be done 6 years ago, but the proposed changes showing "unkown adventure" was a much better solution. As it remains in its current state, the ghille suit stands as a unquestionable example of pay to win- you're literally paying for invisibility in PVP scenearios, which objectively is paying for an advantage in combat.
Another suggestion I had was just make the ghillie avaiable on the market place as a costume box priced as much as a premium outfit, just one that cannot have crons extracted-

[Male] Treant Camouflage Box
[Female] Desert Camouflage Box
[Male] Desert Camouflage Box
Edit: I just saw the "reconsideration" naming it 'The Hidden Adventure' I'm okay with this. Hopefully this isn't a sham and they stick to their guns this time.

You misstyped 8%, a good deal of people got Ghillie suits because they felt forced to in order to compete.
Did you ever think that maybe it helps prevent focusing in group pvp? Last thing some people want is 15 people chasing them around BA or RBF because they're well known. Shits mad annoying.
Also I havent actually heard anyone complain about ghillies in a long ass time, unless they're new players. So maybe its just a newbie thing.... 🤔 Welcome to BDO

For me, I had my mind off of ghillies for a very long time. I accepted that it was simply part of the game and would never change. It was something I hated, but it wasn't something I felt had any chance of change so I just didn't want to think or talk about it because it felt pointless. "Just deal with it" kind of attitude. While a lot of us love BDO, there are many things in BDO that we hate, too. And we've learned to tolerate or accept or look past the hated things, because we like the rest. Well today Pearl Abyss is listening! We can make noise about what we hate and if not get change at least get dialog. That feels great. 2021 PA >>> old PA, great work!!
When I recently heard they really might change to "unknown adventurer," I had a spark of hope. This would be so good! When that was rescinded, I felt so fired up, like I was teased with promise of what I wanted and then it was pulled back, I mean come on! So I (and many other people I guess) all get fired up and posting and yelling again like we have not done so for years. And I am just so glad that Pearl Abyss agreed.
I know my opinion is only my own - I'm lucky other people share it, and thatPearl Abyss chose to agree with us, this time. I hope we're right, and that the game will be better for this change - I think it absolutely will. I know some Ghillie-fans are out there who will be disappointed. Sorry, but I really hope they are 1: a super minority, and 2: I hope they quickly get over it.
