I glad that this function was added to the game, but why is it limited to Remastered mode? Why can't we use that function with lower settings like medium/high?

Sadly I can't stand this game when Remastered Mode is used with TAA. It just makes everything blurry.

I do hope this can be changed further, so we will have option to enable this option even with lower settings and without using anti-aliasing.

Thank you! i thought i was the only one who felt this away after i read so many posts about how amazing remastered look with Anti-Aliasing on. I dont care what anyone says, always turn off "V-sync, Depth of Field, Motion Blur and Anti-Aliasing". From the time ive been playing video games (pc, consoles, handheld, etc..)....these options have always been the four hoursemen of the apocalypse for lower frame rates and a blurry look that makes you feel like you're trying to view and play any game underwater. out of the four, V-sync you have to be a lil careful with, because on very old games it actually can help keep framerates stable, because the increase rates in certain older games will make the game feel like its being played on super speed as you are getting way too much fps. I do applaud the developers for their hard work on making remastered mode more accessible on lower and higher cards, but if there was a way to remove Anti-Aliasing, while keeping the increased frame-rate, that would really make remastered mode much more appealing.

Couldnt agree more with everything you said ... well except V-sync. I'm using it and have no problems with it.

AA is the worst, at least in this game, so sadly that new feature is just pointless to me, since I can't play this game with blurry settings :(

well ran the AMD FidelityFX on Ultra Quality for 1 hour made everything look cold and drab and the sight distance did not improve still all the hole in the mountains and green poping in at the last min

Are you using an SSD or HDD? HDD are notoriously bad for pop ins with BDO and it's so much better if you move the game to an SSD. It's still there of course but most of the time I don't really notice unless I'm in Kama and happen to get stuck in a tree because I'm going too fast on my horse lol. But again this is rare.

But yeah my frames are so much better with Fidelity however the TAA blur completely kills it. It's SOOO bad lol. I'm assuming it's because I'm using an older card but who knows. It doesn't help that my vision is already kind of bad even with glasses. Hopefully they allow us to at least change the AA settings in the future with enough feedback.

It's not a card issue. I'm using RTX 3070 and blur from TAA is just horrible. And I don't have any problems with my eyes for now.

Yeah v-sync is a lil tricky not as performance draining depending on system, configurations, game optimizations, video card, etc..but also can hamper fps. On a Moniter that has 120hz, 144hz, etc.. its not as bad being that it locks your frame rate to that of the monitors refresh rates so the higher the hertz the better. 120hz = possible max120fps, 144hz = possible max of 144fps. This means that you will go pass 60fps naturally and would rarely dip lower than 70 or 80 but off, you can reach those 120 and 144 fps easier. Now here is where V-sync can be a problem, if your moniter is 60hz, this means that V-sync will lock it to 60fps to match that of the 60 hertz. This means you cant go pass 60 and your fps will just sit at 60. Now with it off, you can get a lil bit pass 60, maybe to 65 or more dependant on video card and lowered graphics, optimization of game youre playing as well so V-sync OFF you will gain more frames per second naturally out of a 60hz monitor.

Now G-sync is a different story as it is makes V-sync feels obsolete, so that you want on especially on GTX, RTX, and RTX 20's and 30's series cards.

EDITED:

I also agree Anti-Aliasing is horrible, I honestly cannot understand how anyone can look at how blurry it makes games look and go,"wow thats beautiful" I just tell myself, maybe their vision is blurry in the first place and they cant really see s**t anyway!

Was talking to the person I quoted about the ssd. They said they were having issues with things popping in.
