I see where you coming from however, I'm unsure that BDO vocation being to teach to the masses what MMOs are. As you can tell it's rather a niche game with an MMO experienced audience.
Furthermore, dumbing down the first hour experience won't change the fact that those new players will hit the complexity wall sooner or later and no amount of shiny will save them from the hard truth: MMOs are complex games with a long and steep learning curve.
Lastly, and for the third time, Pearl Abyss. is. reworking. the. tutorial. Go watch last Ball already.
yeye i will watch it, dont worry. thanks for telling me multiple times. probably watch it next few days..
and u gonna support that stuff here already xD
I need a tutorial please, i don´t know how this game works..
Someone new and needs help on the overwhelming flood of information on the UI?
many new players now on season plus, whats your suggestion, newbies?
I don't see the source of your need of attacking me personally, are you trying to actually improve BDO or to shut down people who disagree with you.
Besides, there's plenty of video material on Youtube covering the needs you describe already, just don't tell me your traget audience also isn't capable of performing basic look up operations.
Lastly and despite common sense, Pearl Abyss stated that they're preparing a dumbed down tutorial that will spoonfeed your audience how to walk forward and backwards. This will achieve very little for teaching how to play this *MMORPG* in the grand scheme of things but you can bet it will be shiny and look not boringly old. Young people like shiny.
You're as condescending as always. You're not a new player, having a small tutorial help you adjust your game window and text size as well as telling the new player what all the garbage in their screen means doesn't affect you.
We don't care if you're so smart that you can figure it out your own. The fact that there are people who say "Give us an option to turn this on/off, or give us this/that UI option" that is already implemented tells you that the game's UI and introduction to it needs to be less hectic and more consolidated. Even today, we have constant complaints about how archaic and impractical the UI is. From having the constant "dO yOu FeEL iT?? a DaRk rIFt HaS oPenEd!!1!", the "Voice Chat" button (LOL) to the horrible pop up next to your map to click and navigate to the nearest NPC of a specific type (which I think was only kept for new/returning adventurers.)
We don't care if you learned to play blinflonded and with your feet. The fact is there, and the fact is in terms of UI and controls, this game is not new-user friendly.
You completely missed the point in maRee's suggestion cause you're so fixated on flaunting your "intelectual superiority".
He doesn' t want the game to tell the new player: "THIS IS A MOUSE, IT HAS TWO BUTTONS! MAKE SURE ITS PLUGGED TO YOUR COMPUTER AND YOUR COMPUTER IS TURNED ON"
He wants the game to tell the new player: "To easy access the settings of your chat windows, press this cog icon, you can adjust colors and visibility of channels to your preference. These are your buffs and hotkeys, you can go to ESC Menu and "UI settings" to adjust it as you like."
And even if the tutorial was: "Press R to interact with NPC or objects" How is that bad if transforms have a window of instructions? "LMB to attack, Space to Jump, Shift + R to end transform" How is OP's suggestion "dumbing down the game" if these things already exist?
Thx Pretzelicious, appreciate your idea.
