My turn.
CatDK..to assist you in silver and knoweldge
A yuria weapon venders at NPC for 18,000 silver or 255,000 on market.
I melt it down using Heating (press L)
I got :
8 melted iron shard-on market at base price 1 melted iron shard is 2,490, lowest price is 2,390
2 Trace of ascension.- on market at base price, 1 trace of ascension is 86,500 silver
ah...thats 173,000 for the traces of acension and (taking lowest) 19,120 silver for the iron
Total of 192,120 silver for one weapon.
Now for lifeskillers of alchemy and crafter, that trace makes guru potions in alchemy, leather glaze for hides etc.etc. , The melted iron-various crafting items and tools.
A lifeskiller either buys those weapons/traces/iron.
Or has worker nodes
Or just goes out and beats up mobs for yuria weapon- bypassing paying anyone silver -but gaining experience from combat/skills/ lifeskilling.
Yeah, so you say, that the solution to the lack of a given crafting material is having trash items dropped on low spots, that can be later reprocessed into that? (Which also destroys the crafting of the said item due to the materials being expensiver than the value of the item.)
I'm aware that people using those items for melting, I was also 100% sure that there will be people who will answer to me with this strawman excuse, tho I ain't expected that there will be this much stupid ppl defending a broken mechanism.
But since you seems interested I will help you out:
((5+9)/2*2390+(1+4)/2*92500+0.25*52500)-294000 = -32895 this is the profit you make for every yuria weapon that you heat.
Yeah, if you are desperate for trace, you can do them for a quick way to get them (assuming there is weapons in the market at the moment), but it's not profitable.
There are other weapon on the market that can be heated, and you actually make profit on them, tho the profit is relativly small (around 60M/h), and limited as the supply of weapons is limited.
It's still a bad game design, that only happens cause PA is way too lazzy to adjust market prices to be actually realistic.
It is unfortunate that this change doesnt apply to the areas that rly needed it. Today I still filled my 200 slot inventory with green weapons in just under the hour at Cadry ruins. Without sending the ones that had enhancement lvl to the CWH it would have filled even faster.
A bit strange, that they don't apply this to all green equipment, but i really like the change.

I was going to keep him guessing, since he thinks those weapons and boxes are trash. Also if you got high processing mastery, you can get a lot more traces out those weapons.

Simply looking at TrollDK alchemy levels tells you everything to know about their incompetence and the lack of clue their comment about traces and trace market situation are.

Nah, enlighten me, how much traces are you getting at what mastery? You really made me curious how a mastery, that only affects mass process amount, will affect how many results you get on single reprocess :)

Now that you just started seeking for education about traces, try obtaining them at a sustainable rate from the market then we'll talk about usefulness of drops giving you them.

Shhh.... don't give away all our lifeskilling secrets.
I didn't even mention the crystals from burning weapons and how they are used to upgrade alchemy stones.
