Hello everyone, Zeroden here! I'm coming to speak to you on behalf of our Horse Training community as a Black Desert Online Ambassador!

3.) Only allow one Old Moon Grand Prix track, and rotate the three tracks on either a daily or weekly basis. Add a Mount Skill Change Coupon as a tradable reward for Grand Prix Trophies: By allowing only one Old Moon Grand Prix track (instead of the current three), you create a focused funnel for all players to join into horse racing and complete the content. The problem with having too many tracks on offer is that the community cannot see what other races are currently on-going, how many players are waiting in each lobby, and this is a problem that is made exponentially worse by the fact that some tracks are objectively better than others (The Balenos track, for example, has the best balance of skill requirement & time spent to complete the track). Because of this issue, horse races simply do not take place. No one wants to join an empty horse race and wait for 10 minutes or longer to see a handful of people come and go. Offer a single track, everyone goes there. It's as simple as that. You can keep the other tracks in the game by either rotating them daily, or with every maintenance, and this also maintains the variety as the spice of life. An alternative would be to randomize the track on a per-instance basis, but I feel like that could be manipulated or abused. By adding a Mount Skill Change Coupon to be traded for Grand Prix Trophies, once again you are actively encouraging horse trainers to participate in their favorite content and rewarding them by making their lives better in their favorite life skill. I would recommend a rate of 20 Grand Prix Gold Trophies/30 Grand Prix Silver Trophies/60 Grand Prix Bronze Trophies for x1 Mount Skill Change Coupon. This is a fair rate of exchange and would require a decent amount of effort per token. It can be pursued actively, or over the course of a week depending on a trainer's level of commitment to active play. Essentially, you could grind Old Moon Grand Prix races instead of mobs.

You explained one of the issues about racing very well, but I will add some more points that I would like devs to consider about racing. And bump the thread once more.

🥕 Please give us a lobby or chatbox, anything! Where we can sign up first and only get ported when there’s enough people to start a race. Not even the terrible mechanics stop me from wanting to race… you know what does?

Port in, Wait, No Participants, Port out.
Port in, Wait, Two people join, Not enough participants, Port out.
Port in, Wait, 3 People, Port out.
Port in, Wait, The othe two people disappeared, No Participants, Port out.
Port in, Wait, No Participants, Port out.

🥕 Alternatively, since a lobby sounds like a foreign term for BDO. Add a system alert.
If you think I care about all my guildmates leveling up and reaching a lifeskill rank, then give me an option to see notifications when people sign up to a track. Even if it’s just the first person, I’m sure more people would sign up if they saw a pop up saying “A race will begin shortly in x Track!” and obviously an option to toggle it off.

🥕 Would be nice if MORE T10 materials were awarded for racing. More than just 1 Mythical Feather a Week, 10 weeks for an attempt? What a joke...If you guys have plans for an exclusive material for T10 Dine and Doom, please put it in racing; A lot of people who just bought their horses and got Apprentice for Auto-sprint started doing Wapra’s dailies to obtain a T10. It would bring an influx of participants which would benefit the otherwise dead feature. Win-win.

🥕 Provide more generic rewards for the Horse Race Seal Exchange. Most items you can obtain from this feature are horse related, meaning a big portion of the players are not interested in it. If you could obtain more generic rewards such as Ancient Spirit Dust, Cron Stones, Scorched Fragments, Caphras, Magical Shards, etc perhaps more players would be interested in participating. The examples I provided might be bad, but you get the idea. Because you have horse trainers who won't race because "in that same amount of time I grind 500m and just pre-order materials." -_-

🥕 Remove catch up mechanic. If you fail your start accel, missed your turns and screwed your speed boosts. You shouldn’t be able to reach the person who did it perfectly. Look at the first minute of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YAa4XvXlhk

🥕 Reduce the size of the colliion boxes. They’re far too big; that you can’t fit 7 players in the start line side by side. Unless you can wiggle your way and race separately from the rest, it makes the races clunky and annoying. I dont know how this person didn't miss their checkpoint trying to stay away from the others: https://youtu.be/TJ47b13xJ70?t=66 Cause I did the same once and it didn't count for me.

And it promotes desync and unfair physics during the race. Sure, if I was trying to headbutt right behind another player I would understand if I slow down. But 2-3 players can catch up and somehow push you behind. Funny enough if you try to do the same, you just waste your speedboosts as if you were running against a wall. Look at this video where the player without gear just seems to *pop* infront of the player recording, who then is stuck behind, constantly bumping in them.  https://youtu.be/teP1u_M7xZM?t=248 You could argue "but they bumped into the rock" sure, but I've had that happen to me when no obstacles are around except other players.

🥕 https://youtu.be/QbpEAZlsQjM Try to fix the issue where checkpoints can just "fail to load" and you're completely unable to finish the race.

🥕 Give better rewards for harder tracks. I have only raced a handful times in Velia and 0 in Calpheon. I have NO interest whatsoever on completing harder tracks for the same prizes. Specially when the more experienced players finish the race in a breeze and I don't even get completion rewards. This also divides the players who race. Some people just want to race Mediah for easy completion, other's don't like it cause their skill doesn't guarantee them any of the first three places. Inexperienced players don't want to fail Velia track over and over. It is frustrating to race for over an hour and hardly have enough coins for the daily. And Calpheon track? Eff that shiz.

🥕 Increase the window in which players can complete a race after the first 3 places crossed the finish line. If the catch up mechanic was to be removed, mistakes would be costy. But even if it was kept, I don’t think 30 seconds instead of 10 would hurt anyone to let others finish the race. Them getting their completion reward won’t take away the prize from the first three spots. Look at the vids I posted and check how many people failed to complete the Velia Track.

🥕 There should be a racing mode where you can “practice laps” and each lap you complete under a certain “time” gives you a set amount of coins.
Less coins than competitive racing ofc. Maybe have time trial with Gold, Silver and Bronze times. 3-2-1 prix coins respectively. Or 1 prix coin each and 3-2-1 Participant Certificates for Training EXP.
Would be a nice way to let players practice races, get rewards and not be stuck if there aren’t enough people. You could even explore shortcuts and beat your own personal records. A lot of people want “solo” races, but would make no sense to get trophies if you can race against 4 AI or NPC. So this is my idea instead.

Perhaps each track could have a solo, time-trial leaderboard for horses from tier 1-4. This way:

a) You race solo and get coins for dailies and exchanges

b) Have a reason to raise lower tier horses, while race horses are used for competitive real-time racing.

c) Have competitive non-frustrating Trainer fun. possibly with monthly rewards for top spots such as the trophies + other goodies.

Would reset each week or month and the same trainer cannot win the leaderboard twice in a row.

I have a +9 Krogdalo Horse Shoe and I dare not tap for +10 right now.

I think horse gear is similiar to sailing gear in that way.

Sailing gear (at least the carrack blue gear) does not downgrade levels while being enhanced at all.

🌿 Give us more way to obtain Royal Fern Root or Dreamy Powder

As Zeroden already mentioned, diving deep in making a 🍂 Mythical Horse is something what not every people would do. It is a very-very expensive ride and requires a lot of patience in a long run (except if you are lucky enough). Those who are dedicated to do this are already turned a huge amount of money into something which isn't really a "game changing" feature. Let's be honest, Pearl Abyss has made the progress pace in the game faster in the recent months in many terms and ways, so I can't see the point of making such a huge limitation for us in this cause.

Tapping a PEN item for example (or getting one) is something what we can do in many ways and we've never was so drastically "limited" in that like we are in getting a T10 horse - and the reason is the amount of Royal Fern Root we can get and the way we can. Pearl Abyss keep giving us more and more chance and new ways to get better gear and more money. How GS changes on what and how you experience in/the game and how a T8 - T9 - T10 horse do is totally different thing.

I'd suggest you to give us more options to obtain Royal Fern Root.
1. ) Giving failstacks is something which sounds fair, yet it looks like that the idea most likely sentenced to death anyways.

2.) Give us more quests to complete for extra Royal Fern Roots (or Dreamy Powders). One of my simple ideas is:

• In the first quest you would have to capture a T1 horse, for 1 Royal Fern Root. If you succesfully captured the horse and completed the quest, the NPC would give you an another quest, which would ask you to capture a T2 horse. If completed, you would get a third quest, asking for a T3, then a fourth quest, asking for a T4 horse - of course, depending on your Training level (so a person with higher Training level would be able to pick up more of these quests). If you are Guru trainer, you'd have a quest for T5 horse. These quest would give you the amount of Royal Fern Root equal to the tier of the horse you'd have to capture.

In short:
1. quest: Capture a Tier 1 horse : 1x Royal Fern Root [Requirement: Skilled Training]
2. quest: Capture a Tier 2 horse: 2x Royal Fern Root [Requirement: Professional Training]
3. quest: Capture a Tier 3 horse: 3x Royal Fern Root [Requirement: Artisan Training]
4. quest: Capture a Tier 4 horse: 4x Royal Fern Root [Requirement: Master Training]

5. quest: Capture a Tier 5 horse: 5x Royal Fern Root [Requirement: Guru Training]

If the quest would be daily quest line, the amount of Royal Fern Root you can get as a(n)...
Skilled Trainer: 1 Royal Fern Root / day ( x7/week)
Professional Trainer: 3 Royal Fern Root / day ( x21/week)
Artisan Trainer: 6 Royal Fern Root / day ( x42/week)
Master Trainer: 10 Royal Fern Root / day ( x70/week)
Guru Trainer: 15 Royal Fern Root / day ( x105/week)

This is something which requires extra effort to put in, and capturing certain tier horses can be difficult and time consuming sometimes (especially in long run), but considering how hard our situation is it is something what I think, that many dreamers whom are wishing for a succesful T10 horse tap would do regardless. Let's not forget that this is such a limited game we get into, as Kurosity already made a good math about that:

" I have a few suggestions when it comes to T10. So far, at master training we get x4 each day 7x a week = 28 + 30 (weekly) = 58 total.
In summary, it would take a year to get 30 attempts. (math: 52 weeks x 58 mats p/week = 3016 / 100 = 30.16) "

Is this really something which requires such a hard limitation despite that the whole game getting deja vued out of the old pace? Despite the amount of silver and base patience it actually requires? I'm sure that currently many of us would get into literally anything which would help us to make the period between two taps less long, even if we wouldn't get higher chance (so no failstack %) and we'd have to put extra time and/or money into that.

3.) Make the Royal Fern Root obtainable in different activities, like Gathering on certain places, Imperial Delivery (or even this action should get a daily or weekly quest for some extra Royal Fern Roots), Breeding Magical Crops etc.

4.) More Events which would grant us Royal Fern Roots, Dreamy Powder or the completed item for the taps ("The Incense Burner that calls the Dream").
• It could be even a Monthly Event or quest for "The Incense Burner that calls the Dream", for example.

In short, there are countless ways to approach the situation and this struggle, but I'd suggest to try to observe this situation in the same way as Pearl Abyss do their game and the pace it took now. It is faster, and offers a lot. Getting a T10 Horse? Now this is something which literally, one of the most limited things in the game despite the minimal effect it could offer for others - until they are dedicated people who really want a better riding experience, and personally I think that putting this huge amount of money and time into that just proves how much we are fighting for it - .

Additional suggestion pinned to my original post:
Looking at the items what we can exchange from 🍁[Seasonal] Sunset Maple Leaf, I would like to suggest that after the 🍂Mythical Feather 3x (for 30 Sunset Maple Leaf / Family), which is obviously a material for the T10 taps and isn't really a struggle to obtain:

• Pearl Abyss should allow us to use the upcoming Seasonal Exchange Items to get 🌿 Royal Fern Root, Dreamy Powder or 🦄The Incense Burner that calls the Dream. Let's see a simple example:

┌───────────────────────────────────┐

< Exchange at All times >
- x2: 🌿 Royal Fern Root x1-3

< 3 Quests per Family >
- x5: ✨Dreamy Powder x5

< 1 Quests per Family >
- x30: 🦄 The Incense Burner that calls the Dream x1

└───────────────────────────────────┘

I think that people who are really motivated to get T10 would actually do everything to get more of these Exchangeable Items (even by using Seasonal Pass) and focus on these items. After all, those who are aiming this type of horses are usually having a decent gear or already satisfied with what they have in the game overall (and what is reachable via Seasonal events), and would use the seasonal events to get extra chance to reach their mythical dreams. At a certain point, Seasonal can't grant us as many useful items, especially if you are a veteran player, or went through many Seasonal events.

On average, a it would take roughly 10-15 Mount Skill Change Coupons to create a courser from a horse with 16 skills using the lowest probability skill exchanges. I personally have experienced it taking up to 60 tokens to attain S: Sideways Move. Presently, Mount Skill Change Coupons sell for 250 pearls each. That means on average a single T8 Courser, given that your horse was lucky enough to learn 16 skills to begin with, costs over $35 to create. This is abysmal for everyone involved, and serious trainers most especially.

No it isn't, you said it yourself, you do it. There are T8 Corsers all over the market. People love this system. If people didn't like the system they would stop voting for it with there money. Either that or they are idiots. So which is it? You want PA to care? Start caring yourself, all of you.

And the OM Races were screwed from the beginning when they made it a lobby based system. The OG devs made the original races a sign-up system for a reason. It's the only way that makes sense. No one is going to it in an empty lobby for 5 mins or whatever and get booted. You will never see them again.

They also removed some of the incentives for racing and a bunch of other stuff like the 1% racing horse speed boost event that screwed over anyone who might want to race in the future.

Good luck with the changes, odd are no one cares. Active campaigns have been completed to makes sure that is a well known fact.

I don't think I've see anyone mention this but...

Another one of the important points of the Mythical awakening system is that a lot of us do not want the fern root to be a Mythical DIne or Doom material. If you don't mind the fern being shared between Mythicals is because you either:

a) Already got your Mythical Arduanatt

b) You have no interest in Mythical Arduanatt

Maybe this wouldn't be such a big problem if it wasn't because of how limited are the sources for Fern Roots. Maybe it won't be a problem if some of these suggestion are implemented but right now it's a big concern in the Training community.

People who already have their T10 are saving ferns incase they are needed for Dine and people who don't have the Mythical horse are upset cause the people who do, have a headstart on attempts. We are talking about about MONTHS of quests ahead in count.

It is SO bad, that some players are glad the T10 Dine was not released yet.

Nobody said life is fair, but it shouldn't be this way where players have to choose which T10 to invest their attempts if they have been unlucky in a year of attempts and if they are hard-working and willing to invest for all Mythical available.

Adding onto this idea, after discussing with some members of the BDO horse community discord....

Failstacks on t10 based on training level Master +
Reasoning: Training is such a difficult lifeskill for little reward. Getting to Artisan isn't too horrible but getting Master itself is a feet, let alone people who have invested 300+ ACTIVE hours into Guru. I have horse trained on the side since this game came out and was only able to reach Artisan by doing that. Therefore, master seems a reasonable enough level to start failstacking.

+1% at Master
+1.5% at Guru
Additional +.1% at Guru for every new level
Guru 2 = +1.6%
Guru 3 = +1.7%
Guru 4 = +1.8%
  Guru 5 =  +1.9 %
  Guru 6 = + 2.0 %
  Guru 7 = +2.1 %
etc...

A guru trainer just failed their #33 Mythical Attempt today PA. In 5 days it marks a year of the T10 release...Is this supposed to be content to reward dedicated horse trainers? The answer seems like a big fat no.

How this is allowed is ridiculous. The amount of effort required for literally only QOL skill and cool LED , and no stat gain is not worth it and will make your horse player base quit when their rng is anywhere from average - below average. I myself have said I will be quitting on fail 30  and having my bf manage my dailies until I get it.

Global Lab Patch notes as of Feb 25th, show that Mythical Dine will ue the EXACT same censer used for Mythical Arduanatt Awakening.

NOT acceptable. We have listed the reasons plenty of times.

Listen to your players PA, because I lost any hope I had left that you listen to NAEU feedback. I didn't want to believe the "trolls" who say posting on this forum is uselees. But it's looking really bad.

My last suggestion: At least let us cron our Mythical Attempts (100-200 crons) and in exchange we get back a random amount of ferns. Between 20-50.
