Can you implement some sort of system where, when we have S knowledge of a mob, we can see a list of the items it drops and their drop rates? I think it would be nice to make educated guesses on which spot to grind or which mob to focus when looking for a certain item

They don't want to show the drop rates, as that would not allow them to shift them silently in the background, and ppl would less likely to waste their time on grinding something, they know have a drop rate of <0.0001%

There was already requests about it, and while it would not be hard to do it, this is not information that they would ever disclosure.

Yeah it's a bad idea to release this information. This is how you unballance the market even further. People like numbers, they want to grind efficiently and make everything number based. "This is the best spot for this because of that" well, then you also encourage griefers to participate as well. Suddenly, only x becomes available on the market while the rest are hardly every bought / sold since they lost their purpose.

They also adjust numbers on drops and other things constantly and let's not mention the fact that RNG doesn't exist. They cannot create absolute RNG values, they are based on an algorithm that will give a range after a certain period of time but it will never truly be a 0.05% drop for this or that. The average can be 0.05% +/- something rather but never a static value. Meaning, you, personally could grind for 10 years straight and never get an item which drops 10% of the time if you are truly that "unlucky". So to compensate for this, and the ever changing market values, they adjust as needed or at least I presume they do and having a public % would be silly.

I don't know of any MMOs that inform the players of drop rates.  Some players operate unofficial blogs and forums to gather information while playing. One MMO I was playing, blacklisted the forum name and url, stating it was taboo to even study or discuss the drop rates.  Most of the time, I find the daily $1 lottery ticket has better chances than the drop rates in online games.

Have fun!

Your suggestion is alreay partially implemented through loot tables being readable from some window from the ESC menu.

Given the amount people grind and the existence of grind trackers, there's already a lot of number crunching going on. People alreadh min-max where to go for what. Adding visible drop tables would be a great way for Pearl Abyss to be clear and transparent about the game. If anything, it would enhance the player experience.
