I finished mine, now have a Pen crescent guardian ring.
My first and only Pen after 1.8 years.
I'm sharing what i did to achieve this to perhaps help others in ideas/ways to do it (besides just combat grinding)
Combination of lifeskilling & combat grinds & alchemy seals and black market partigo.
The old moon powder
3000 mobs- 2 powder quest daily.
Lifeskill/combat combo.
If you didn't know animals are mobs. Yes, snakes, grass beatles the works, everything.
Kill mobs, get combat silver
Lifeskill combat: kill bison/lions/snakes/foxes etc.etc for meat, blood etc.etc. adds to 3000 mobs.
Lifeskill hunting leads to other lifeskilling: kill for meat/blood/hides/rare drops, trophies. Trophies to market, rare drops to crafting trade goods, meat/blood to alchemy/cooking, hides to market or npc.
Lifeskill alchemy- 40 imperial crates. I did a range of imperial boxes from apprentice to master imperial boxes. Whatever i had the materials for.
Lifeskill cooking-imperial crates from the harvest of meat etc.
Old Moon Alchemy Catalyst
Combat silver -from mobs
Alchemy silver & Cooking silver -from lifeskill selling imperial crates.
Hunting silver-sales of trophies/hunting trade goods/excess meat/blood/hides
Magical Shards
Alchemy imperial crates-40 imperial crates of apprentice potions is 40 alchemy seals-exchange will give you 1 magical shard-i'll be honest i got 85% of my magical shards this way.
Combat mobs-black magic crystal drops-hysteria, centuars, aakman-some waragron.
Marketplace-buying black magic crystals to heat-this was one of the last resorts for me.
Yona’s Fragment
Mob drops
Black Stone
Mob drops-majority
Hunting seals-pila fe scrolls, forbidden book scrolls, boss scrolls, world bosses.
Refinary Crafting house-Level 2-1 armor blackstone per roughly 40 minutes -goblin artisian worker-long as supplies are there (alchemist here, others might use marketplace for ingredients) I had 2 crafting houses going on those black stones.
Patrigio the black market merchant-rng- bundle of 5 ( i have 616 energy so this is NOT a route for most, costs 50 energy per rng chance)
Please share what you've done so far or did?
I haven't finished mine but I'm really close. What I did:
Dailies: Miru (excellent way to get XP) or Basi (good Caphras yield + some BMC). Both are great opportunities for socializing and helping guildies level their season chars.
Blackstones: I get them exclusively from grinding / scrolls
Shards: some StarsEnd / Hystria grinding but mainly from alchemy tokens (guwu 3 here)
Yona: mobs drops (I stockpiled them for a long time and this was an excellent opportunity to use them)
I have this, not much, but it's honest work:
Its not my 1st Pen but it was def the cheapest there really is no trick BUT i do beleive the changes with the Valencia mobs are most likely the biggest helping hand and for all those that are at the begining of there GS climb i wish they would of implimented those changes when they came out with this PEN accessory.
It will take 90 days for those just starting and basically using desert Fogans for an example and a season char 2k kills then finish the hour using blue scrolls or #1 on the guage and agris for the hour nets you 3 trash per mob and i was avg 17k junk per hour not including scrolls and caphras. Now mind you this is with a season char nothing else, i avged about 240mil per hour after taxes you do 1 hour per day that is 21 billion in 90 days.... of which your gonna spend about 14bil at current rates and thats only 155 mil per hour needed to finish in 90 days so less than an hour a day will get you this Pen accessory.
Using the above new numbers is why i am saying i wish they implimented these changes 3 months ago BUT never to late. Now if you started with the event you only have like 77 days but its still do able. of course the direction your going if you do not have PEN weps would be better served doing a Dandi or Kzarka/BS 1st before chasing this accessory it doenst mean you dont do the daily everyone should be doing those period.
This was def the longest quest i have done in game am not doing the nouver outfit or the garmoth heart quest but this was almost a bit over board for PA putting a gate on an Item....
Congrats on your first PEN, dude. :) Well done. One day, when I decide to chase a PEN Crescent ring(or anything simillar), I will take this as an example.

Congrats! I got mine too. My method isn't as big brained as yours lol, mine was pretty simple.
1) Few grinding locations for the grind daily. These spots took me no longer than about 30 mins a day, for 2 Powders a day. Gotta be consistent, missing days adds up and delays progress.
- Centaurs = Decent BMC drop rate. Drops Centaur belts for Yonas as well.
- Manshaums = 20 minute grind at main rotation.
- Pollies = 20 minute grind and amazing skill points. Took my alt there.
2) Yonas fragments = I had a bunch stocked up, luckily. But for these, other than grinding and dropping them from mobs, and Dark Rifts, there really isn't much option but to buy accessories and melt them. Here's some cheap one's:
- Ronaro's Rings
- Cadry Rings
- Serap's Necklace
3) Magical Shards = Grind mobs. Got my BMC's from Elvia Red Orcs mostly. Some from Centaurs too. You can also buy BMC's from Central MP.
4) Blackstones = This one was the pain in the donkey. After getting all the above materials needed, I was short a few 10's of thousands of Blackstones. Here's what I did for Blackstones:
- Just over 2 hours spamming Manshaum Chief scrolls. Manshaum Chief scrolls will give you the most Blackstones out of all the combinable scrolls, I am pretty sure.
- Still didn't have enough. Didn't feel like spamming more scrolls. Then it dawned on me.............
- Bought enhanced Green Off-Hands, up to +12, from Central MP. I bought the load of +12 Rosar's, Krea's, and others. +8's, +9's, +7's, bought them out. Extracted them for Blackstones. Viola.
Double PEN Crescent Ring >:-)
EZ game.
This was def the longest quest i have done in game am not doing the nouver outfit or the garmoth heart quest but this was almost a bit over board for PA putting a gate on an Item....
I agree with this. BDO players, well, least the one's who have been here a long time, I don't think most of us like time-gated content.
But I think PA has realized that many WoW players, ESO, other "typical" MMO's, are playing BDO now. Stuff like Season makes BDO very, very casual friendly. And they found out, that by giving these players meanial tasks to do, they can keep them happy. Probably the guaranteed PEN boss gear will be the same.
It's a hand-hold. Simple, highly rewarding, takes a long time, cheap, easy, straight forward, predictable, no need to self-plan, just do X Y Z like the game tell you, and viola = EZ gains, EZ game. But hey, gains is gains and it was way cheapr than a normally getting a PEN Crescent.
