Hi guys simple question, has anyone already tried out BDO on Win11? i read somewhere that Easy Anti-Cheat was having some compatibility issues on win 11.

If you did, hows the performance of the game on it?

I would wait, W11 is a privacy nightmare. Wait until there are third party guides that let you disable all of microsoft's telemetry and spy crap that you won't want. It was bad on w10's launch but thanks to third party scripts like OOSU10 that can verify every policy, you can feel at ease knowing your personal data isn't being taken from you. Windows 11 doesn't offer any useful improvements to make the jump worthwhile just yet and I get it, some people really like to get the newest things but this is something you should reconsider and wait.

As for BDO and W11, people have been saying it works fine.

Installed Win11 last night.  It works fine with BDO.

Don't really see the "upgrade".  Start menu functionality has been greatly reduced.  What used to take me 1 click now takes 2.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows11/comments/pgcjc2/windows_11_lost_features/

Edges are rounded and user folder icons are more colorful.  The start menu defaults to the center of the taskbar.  Context menus are annoyingly shortened and Windows Explorer looks goofy with all the white space.  Those things can all be changed back to Win10 style if desired, but that's pretty much all I noticed is different so far.

As far as actual functional improvements, I haven't noticed any.  I'm hoping they've fixed the random occurrence of my windows resizing and moving around when I turn my monitor off and back on (fix was supposed to be in 21H2), that alone will make it worth it.  Although I could have stayed on Win10 and still got that fix.

I'm on Windows11 since about 2-3 months ago or when it was first released for Insider Program. Never had any problems with BDO and Win11 so far.

There were some general Windows glitches up untill insider preview 6 or 7, but ever since then I didn't find any problems.

Just for info, current Win11 official version is the same as Insider preview 11, so 4-5 patches since I last had any problems.

And for those who are sceptical about Microsoft collecting data ... I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, but even if you disable all telemetry services, they can still collect your data if they wanted to. Same goes for all of the smartphones, and basicly anything that's connected to internet. It is what it is, and we can't do anything about this.

I've been on Win11 for like a month and a half? Accidentally upgraded, but it runs - for me - just as well as it did on Win10. Technically, since FSR exists and didn't before I upgraded, its running better. That's not a Windows 11 feature though. lol. No FSR, it runs about the same as it did on Windows 10, but your milage might vary.

You guys know that Windows 10 support will last until Oct. 14th 2025?   You have 4 years to make a switch, but even so, just means there will be no more Windows 10 updates.  That might actually be a good thing come to think of it.  As for me, I plan to tough it out on Windows 10 until Pearl Abyss forces me to switch or they make a Linux port.  That should be about three centuries from now.

Take your time, the major bugs and exploits are always in the early release.

Have fun!

upgraded to win 11 pro insider preview build 25115.rs_prerelease.220506-1410

as of before upgrade, bdo worked fine. now, every time i try to run it i get a new driver error green screen of death. no matter what you do, it will not run on this version. do not upgrade if you want to continue to play.

ntoskrnl

thread exceptions

bthport

memory errors

and many more errors

if it was working yesterday, it should be today. only change was OS. so...... guess i will come back whenever it works again.

BDO works fine on Windows 11, but consider this,

Windows 11 actually gives better gaming performance than 10 BUT only very slightly (we're talking 1% here). And another thing is upgrading from windows 10 to 11 will result in worse performance than wiping the drive and doing a clean install of 11.

From my experience using 11 since October 2021 I'd say it's an unfinished OS, Microsoft released it way too early and major updates are not getting out quick enough, meaning that it turns out to actually be a downgrade from 10 apart from the aesthetics. And like the above comment said, it's a privacy nightmare.

Chances are you will have more problems with Windows 11's functionality (or lack thereof) more than you will have problems with gaming performance.
