I have been lumbering for more than 30 minutes and I got 0 drops of hards/sharps. Is it working properly? Don't tell me it only applies to herb gathering

Chance you’ll obtain Hard Black Crystal Shards and Sharp Black Crystal Shards from Gathering will be increased!

So typical shards chance is less then 1%:

So you can spend even 500 energy and get 0 shards.

But if they do event 2-3 shards per 500 energy is realistic (without mastery gear).

Of course mastery increases your chances, but even with a very high mastery, don't get your hopes up for the hundreds of shards.

I am waiting on some1 else telling me they got a drop in decent time

Time spent: irrelevant, this is too much of a varying factor to be considered as a serious metric

Usually with gathering the hards and sharps in events like these you will see a flat +25% increase in the overall amount collected.

For example:

If you gathered for 1 hour a day, 7 days a week. Ended up with 100 hards and 100 sharps...

During the event the number would be 125 and 125.

The modifier is based on a large number set.
