This is why I seldomly play BDO these days. My average FS to get a PEN boss gear is around 240 FS. My lowest successful FS was 202. Meanwhile I have to watch others get PEN Blackstars on 162 FS and PEN Dandies on 60ish FS. It just takes most if not all of the fun out of the forced open world PvP scene for me. I loved BDO's PvP scene before these Devs introduced costume melting. But oh well whatever.

1% means you have 1% to succeed at every attempt. Statistically it doesn't mean 1 in 100 chances, it means you will roll a 100 sided dice and it has to land on the number 1. If it doesn't, you fail.  In programming the actual values are different but they run algorithm simulations so it's approximately 1% chance at every attempt. But, statistically you could never get it, ever.

I only enhance on "lucky hour" which is when I notice my luck is good at enhancing and hope for the best. Otherwise it will always fail even on things with 80% chance. It's superstition, sure, but I'll take my chances.

It SHOULD be easier to enhance though and PvP should be more or less an equal fight based on skill. That is what makes FPS games and the like fun and why MMORPGs suck at PvP. But I guess that's a different topic.

I'd love it if the enhancement success percentages in general were far better, but overall, this game seems to be set up with the idea that it's randomness with poor oods which is going to prevent you from progressing (and thus in principle keep you playing). They don't keep pumping out content on a regular basis that will keep you engaged. Whether you're talking lifeskilling or PvE, it's purposefully designed to be a grind so that you do not progress quickly, because if you did, you'd presumably stop playing. If the enhancement odds were actually sane, then you wouldn't be spending years trying improve your gear (certainly not without PA regularly putting out better gear or otherwise screwing with existing gear so that you had to keep putting in the same kind of effort to always have high end gear). From what I can tell, PA has designed this game in a way that requires that you be dealing with terrible odds all over the place - especially with enhancing, since gear progression is typically the primary focus for progression in the game. So, if they were to actually improve the odds to be sane, they would be at a high risk of players walking away, because they'd gotten the gear that they wanted, and there wasn't enough new content to keep them occupied.

PA is having enough problems with the way that things are set up and players complaining about it that they added a different way to get a single PEN accessory, and they're going to be something similar with a full set of PEN boss weapons and armor, but then you have a bunch of people stuck at the wall that is Fallen God, which is such a garbage system that it makes getting PEN boss gear look like a walk in the park. So, they have made changes based on player complaints, but it's going to cause them problems down the road because of how their entire gear system (and a lot of the rest of the game) basically centers around making sure that you don't progress in any kind of sane time frame. For them to truly fix the enhancement system so that it wasn't such garbage, I expect that they would have to alter a lot of the rest of the game and likely pump out new content much faster in order to ensure that players stayed in engaged. So, I don't expect them to ever fix it.

Now, they did surprisingly improve the enhancement odds for Tuvala gear, but all of the other changes they've made to improve the gear situation have involved providing an alternate way to upgrade your gear rather than fixing enhancing itself. And they've expressed several times that they don't want to mess with the enhancement system. So, taking all of that into consideration, I think that your best hope is that they'll keep giving in and providing alternate ways to get gear over time as the Korean players complain about the state of the game. It's highly unlikely that enhancing gear will ever be sane in this game.

Enchanting is Rigged with hidden stats i beleive i doubt we are seeing the real numbers ive failed some high sucess chances many many times in a row hardly get that many sucesses in a row. I really hate enchanting now six months ago it felt so different now its just time and silver wasted. Ive had bad luck streaks in the pass but its never been this bad for me. Spend 4 billion and make only a single tri cresent ring is just wrong bro. i have over 100 of them man. How the fuck you fail 6 times in row on over 50%? let alone u get single tri out of over 100. This system odds are lower then i remember all lies if u ask me they want you to fail and spend cash on the game is what i think what is happening.

It's certainly possible that there are hidden stats, but the odds that are actually presented to you for enhancement are usually so abysmally low that they could easily account for a terrible streak of luck without anything hidden being involved. If anything, it's closer to a miracle when things go well.
