BDO is in trouble and will continue to lose players because the ones making the decisions at PA doesn't play their own game. There is so much potential with this game, but they don't even see it because they don't play their own game.

BDO is so much in trouble that is has a bit more players than during Steam launch five years ago.

It seems that ODIN: Valhalla Rising, a another very sucesfull game in Korea going to release in 2022 Q1/Q2 in the west, if Lost Ark alone would be not enough. And that game will be more close graphics wise to bdo than LA is....

ok while we meme about games being a mobile game ported to pc, odin valhalla is actually a mobile game that has a pc client lol.

i was excited by the trailer too but from gameplay trailer.... ure better off going back to wow or ffxiv.

IDK where PA is at with this currently, but I remember a group PvPvE end-game content called Thornwood Castle, or somehting like that, they talked about.  IDK if it's a zone or mode, or if they scrapped it, but basically, you farm mobs / bosses and have to compete with other players for them.  Sounded cool at the time, and you need gear / skill, hence, end-game co-op.

Hopefully they can pull off some compelling content for us after the class re-tweaks.  Lots of competition right now, Lost Ark is looking AMAZING.  Wondering what PA has up their sleeve for this game.

They did launch Thornwood Castle on glab, we could form a team to enter it... Then crash. No word about it from this moment on.

Numbers are saying the contrary on Steam charts. And that's Steam only.

Current numbers aren't different from half last decade trends, what do you even mean.

Tenku wrote that BDO is in trouble and will continue to lose players. Steam charts show the contrary, ie no trouble and a stable population, and on the Steam platform alone.

If they're not increasing their population, then what's going on? The likely answer is that they are probably losing players but are spending enough in marketing to get new ones to replace them. BDO mobile has supposedly tanked in numbers and BDO PC isn't even in the top 15 anymore (MMORPG).

FF14 just did their pre-release of Endwalker and the servers are so congested that they gave away a 7 day pass for compensation. It's not that they weren't expecting it, it's just that there's not enough hardware available to purchase. They've been trying for a year at least to buy new hardware but can't. So don't expect people to be doing a full exodus if they can't connect to the game.

With that said, how many people actually play BDO instead of AFK fish / Barter / Train? Those are the numbers that matter most (as a MMORPG, not as a money maker) since people tend to toss BDO in the taskbar and let it be. BDO nearly died completely before but managed to save themeslves through clever marketing to Xbox 360 under the guise of "Remastered". They did that again with BDO Mobile and right now they are trying to do it again with "Class remastered" but from what I've been reading, it's not exciting at all.

Don't get me wrong, I want BDO to strive but the outlook isn't good. Contrary to what you say, BDO is in fact, in trouble.

Well, we already heard that too many times. BDO is supposed to be in trouble since its first birthday, so...

Only New World threatened BDO but New World:
- has no content

- has no end game content

- it's completely exploited with bugs and copy items / money

- limited channels (2000 players per channel) and char tied to a channel is a very bad idea.

Is New World really on the same market than BDO anyway ? To me it looks like New World aim at a slightly different audience.
