Hey there,

I'm a new player too, I started earlier this month with the only goal for now to finish the season with a full PEN Tuvala gear.

I did not look past that point, I know it will be swapped to Boss somehow, I don't even read into it too much.

I got lucky while killing Afuari and got my 2 Sub weapons, Kutum and Nouver, from the goblin alone.

But I did not even look into how to enhance those items yet, because I will get Boss gear next month. Also I am not so impatient as to use my world bosses weapons too soon. I enjoy my Tuvala gear for now.

About my experience and point of view of the game so far and take on the OP:

Coming from Lineage 2, another Korean MMO, I felt the game way too easy so far. I always disliked the idea of being given gear (namely Naru and Tuvala).

Some pieces of equipement after completing some side quests is totally fine. But the Naru/Tuvala and their upgrades made the start of the game less interesting for me.

I like the struggle, especially early on. I even restrained myself from enchanting anything (weapon/armor/acc) until well into the level 50's.

When you are given stuff or mounts like mentionned above, it destroys an avenue of the game.

Making a T9 mount is a pillar of the game, that's content. I will learn how to do it, because I am totally clueless about it now, and I will give it a go myself. Buying it from the Central Market could be an idea, but I want to first get my hands dirty with as much as I can in the game, to explore whatever there is, because that is what makes it interesting.

Give me my end game stuff fully PEN, T9 mounts, T4 pets, Artisan workers, lvl 70... and I will have nothing to do but quit the game.

MMO are about the journey like said before.

As to the enchanting chance, BDO is still forgiving if you fail at enchanting (outside Accessories). In my previous MMO, the safe enchant is +3, past that you have a 60% chance to succeed. If you fail, whatever the item was, it breaks. Absolutely everything is dependant on luck in that game (Lineage II), your debuffs can fail, your auto attacks can miss, you can open a chest/or whatever you farmed for so many hours and end up with nothing inside, your skill upgrades can fail and go back to 0, all your items can break if you fail enchantment, you can drop your stuff if you get killed by mobs, crafting items is not garanteed...

So, maybe my point of view is biased because I am so used to this system, but I feel like BDO took an easy take on enchantment fails, just like anything that exists in games now, it is all getting easier.

So there you go guys, new player here, entireley opposite opinion as the OP and I embrace the challenge.

Maybe you will change your mind if you are still around, it's always sad to see people go.
