IMO it stinks.

I spent a total of 20 minutes there.

Did red light green light, failed to move 10 feet without being thrown out of the machine. Did not finish
Did the haunted house, that was a joke. Did not finish.


Not trying the other things.

Is it just me or does it feel like BDO's days are winding down ?

It's not like the festival events have ever been any good. It's just a question of whether the activities that come with them are worth putting up with to get the associated rewards. I don't think that I've ever seen anyone say that they actually like the activities that are part of these events. And yes, there's probably someone who does, but in general, the attitude that I've seen towards them has been quite negative.

The quests being weekly or 1-time rather than dailies you try to get through as quickly as possible each day is an improvement for me.

The red light green light minigame has to be played with sound on or you wont know when to stop. Also the horizontal balance part when you stop is way, WAY to sensitive. First 2 times I had that one it threw me off instantly on 1 single mouse click.

The haunted house was... frustrating but its mostly about learning the pathing and getting used to the awful pumpkin ghost controls. Took me a bit over 2h to complete it I think. Its a pretty big flaw that its way harder to do during ingame night because for some reason it gets pitch-black inside and you cant even see the room or doors anymore.

All-in-all its pretty okay.

I liked the red light / green light thing. It was neat and was able to complete it the second time around. It was buggy where I had to swap servers to see the machines but they claimed to have fixed this overnight.

For the mansion thing, it's terrible. Not only do you have to fight terrible lag but other players are able to attack you even if you're level 49. They can kill the pumpkin things that you ride in so the moment they spawn, griefers will kill them.

The whole place looks neat but that's kind of the thing with this game. Decent visuals but gameplay is never thought throught.

Based on what you wrote, it is you. 

LoL it sounds like none of you have played other MMOs Halloween events.  I heard the same complaints from many others on other games.  Such as;

This has all be said before about online events.  If you are going to state this one is bad, at least cite your basis of comparison. I think the very best Halloween online to this day is the original Guild Wars, not that bullshit #2 Guild Wars either. The original is king in my opinion, they have several quests that you do once, and they are fun, humorous, and challenging.  I still pop over there and do them all, even though they never change.  Mad King Thorn's lunatic court has you chasing an invisible pony, getting a dead body from a mausoleum gaurded by undead dragons, and making sure his dead wife is there for his resurrection.  Why do I like doing these old quests? Because they are very creative, it sure isn't for the candy corn, pumpkin cookies, and hat!  

Honestly BDO may not rank all that high on this event, but I am still working on the haunted house dungeon.  I got the first chest from the top floor and I was able to see where all the bad guys are down to level 3.  I just have to find a viable path without getting ejected.

I like the fact we get to meet Marni, face to face, but I would like to see more dialog.  Many of the small quests are too simple.  I have yet to attempt the Red light Green light challenge.  My only concern (especially if I were Pearl Abyss) is there enough content for the full 4 weeks it is active?  I basically ran out of stuff to do at the beach party event, collected more than enough for the items and put the extra in storage for next year.  Maybe they make them run long, so others can find the time to enjoy them at their leisure.

At any rate, I have seen much worse.

I've played many, that BDO events are pretty bottom tier. They seem to focus on frustrating mechanics, an event should be fun, not an ordeal.

That haunted  house is just terrible. In general I despise all these transformation things they keep putting in (feking otters, I'm looking at you)

This company doesn't seem to understand the concepts of game and fun. Effor / reward is also something they are really bad at.

Bottom line with this event, like so many in BDO: CBA
