Rework changes are a step in the right direction but especially with today’s drop of global lab patches you can see exactly why Shai players get mad. STOP treating our c l a s s like the outcast. This weeks patch reworked every c l a s s in the games passives besides Shai. There are reasons people say our c l a s s feels incomplete and it's because it is treated as so.

As far as the rework goes, I would say the boomerang surf NEEDS to be protected. With how much we lack mobility the cool down is very long, the animation lock of the ability is a death sentence in PvP we should be able to roll out of it, and with how much stamina consumption our kit has and when compared to the speed and mobility of other c l a s s e s this would be an amazing gap closer abillity when catching up to allies if the stamina consumption was removed. Also fall animation cancels the ability and feels bad.

Other Shais have covered the lack of LV3 addons and covered more specific needs, so I'll focus on some of the basic fundamental stuff that every other in the game has and is a must for Shai.

Shai is still the only c l a s s in the game without any form of mounted combat Archer gets awakening on horseback so it wouldn’t be a far stretch to give Shais talent on horseback.

The tag system is unnecessarily crippling for Shais when compared to every other c l a s s in the game. Artina Sol doesn’t have a tag equivalent and we don’t have a Blackstar Awakening weapon which I feel was a huge mistake. Anything we tag has no tag equivalent, so we are forced to buy another weapon for a specific tag character and if we want to change our tag characters, we are forced to either buy ANOTHER weapon/Sell and Rebuy for new tag /or Weapon coupon just for a tag. It feels especially bad when we are the only c l a s s in the game that has to deal with this issue. Normal Artina Sol should be able to be Caphras level enhanced and be a Dande equivelant. And we should have our own Blackstar Artina Sol. This would fix a lot of the issues Shai has when compared to other c l a s s e s and fix the issue of tagging with Shai.

This current patch on global lab is the perfect example of why Shais feel like outcast in the game. Because that's how we are treated. We lack some basic things that every c l a s s in the game can do that we cannot. And when changes are made as a whole, we are excluded as the special case outcast .

I appreciate the much needed inclusion of Shai in these reworks and just wish to be put on a more level field with other c l a s s e s in the game and not feel punished for wanting to main the Bard of BDO <3

I sincerely hope not. >.< That would be one of the worst options. I love the life skillers who enjoy playing Shai but if they remove all other aspects of Shai play and demolish what she has become then BDO will have proven that it is no longer a creative and welcoming game for players who care about helping others. 

I do want our dream donkey though...

Do I have this wrong or did PA bind the new skill (florang surf) to Forward+RMB?

IF so, WOW! You really do not know the Class PA.

I think few know the really well because it’s been made a joke of, and the community (Some streamers too) keep saying it useless… So no one really explores it tech and finds out what it is good at.

Sure its not good at 1v1s nor can it hold a grind spot most of the time, but it also is the most powerful disruption I have seen in game – and maybe other have seen... when they have been on the end of a good engage from me in NW (EU)… Shai Is no joke in the right hands and far from useless.. what is unless is the new key bind, and I have made a video demostrating why.

I don’t have access to Glabs, I don’t have A streaming channel and I didn’t win any tournaments on shai (because of  a few reasons 1*)

So its upto the streamers who are passionate about shai to look at my video, maybe even test out the tech, and make your slef heard. PA wont listen to little old me.

1*) Im shy and easy flustered when there is a lot on the line, such as a prize or 1000s of people watching.. Respect to people that took that on, one day I hope to get over that issue.

I didn’t think the torment had any perpose for shai apart from to perpetuate the joke that is a useless meme . But thankyou to the people that actually d PVP on shai and not just DP and waiting the timer out.

And at the time, I could not think of anything I wanted changed on shai, The class rocks, I love playing it in pvp and worry that changes could make it OP in the hands of a good player spoiling the game for others.

Thankfully someone did suggest one thing I had not thought of at the time .. I think, we will see if the issue of florage attack falling short in PVP is fixed, because Jump distances and florang ranges don’t always match up well… this lead to a lot of attacks failing to hit the targt by 1 meter (consistently… strangely, this disn’t happen when shai first came out, it was something that was changed, range was reduced?)

Can you lock it and put it on the hotbar at least?

I hear it cant be hotbar-ed for some unknown reason

Also want to add how people may be using forward RMB all the time without noticing... its just part of their grind.
I won’t make another video for this, as it’s a lot of effort for PA not to even look.

I'm watching a stream and there they are Shift+forward, then pressing RMB to hit a pack for there opener. Sometimes it just a one-shot of a pack and they carry on foward… Chances are most shai players are doing this without noticing (with weaker mobs, I do this a gahaz a lot, and when hunting smaller mobs for resources)

I don’t think holding shift will have any effect on the clients understanding of your inputs. Its will see Forward+RMB, and if that skill has cooled down, then it’s going to cast it (have the people that have been able to test shai given it a test using normal play? And given some though that not all shais will be at top end spots).

Have I got this wrong?, I don’t have Glabs. Is this really a pointless RP only skill for shia?

Can someone with access please look at this?

Remember, this skill is…hmm, mobility right? So it’s been put on forward, were we have the hop in forward direction when using shift. How many times have you hopped toward mobs (as you will still be doing that, the new skill dose not replace the need for that) and then hit RMB… and have hit the RMB without first releasing the forward key… well if that’s you, Weeee, now you are unexpectedly surfing away!

Please allow surf/skateboard to be locked and placed on the hotbar
