Sorry that this happened to you OP. I haven't traded my regular TET boss gear in yet, but I also didn't realize that there are additional limitations other than not being able to trade them in central market.    So can these untradeable TET gears still be enhanced with magic crystals, or is that also not possible?

So to answer you, the answer is no, you can't upgrade it any other way, you can't change it back, you can't sell it. I thought at first it was possible as it showed up for normal upgrading like any object but paying closer attention i saw it was a black stone i never saw before that was required for exactly the same chance of success. A corroded black stone or something around those line in english. My guess is it's an item available only in korea and they haven't implemented in NA/EU servers.

Anyway if you go for this method i'll recommend you to have the 200 magical shards ready before trying as the spots where to get them are now pretty crowdy (they were already before but now ...) and that's really a good way to loose crystals and % more than upgrade anything. I saw a lot of people in game complaining about it already.

You're complaining about a 100% enhancing system that's cheaper to get you end game gear? Wow.

The only timegate to worry about is doing your weekly quest, which is two clicks a week. Pretty hard.

Probably because they want the future new areas to be usable for both average players and geared veterans.

Completely untrue, i checked the market a few times already. A long time ago when it was possible to heat orange cristals to get shards too and they were already low on supplies as everyone was heating their viper to get better crystals.

Cristals giving magical shards never have been in high supply (at least not since they removed the orange heating and the easy crafting of them in life skills) and if i get into this at first it's simply cause in my mind you could still heat orange grade crystals which i have a lot in my stashes to get those shards.

But no, it have been changed and i checked the market history, the supplies where never high and you had already a lot of pre-order put on them, the difference is, before it was 100-200 pre-order on each with a stable price around 4M, since end of september, so BEFORE this update the price rocket jumped to 6.2M and you have 25K preorder on each of them.

Maybe you should read patchs notes watch twitch a bit less and play the game a bit more, cause apprently you don't know how to use the market before posting.
