The event didn't add all that much to the game tbh. Yea, cheap meals were nice but there's better gear out there and you'd normally get that before you were high enough to even equip oasis gear. I can't even complain that I'll be missing out on the box combines (I just opened a ton of em) because they removed one of the most common items in it that was debatably useful. Good items were rare, but juices were plenty, and it was an easy way to level health/strength/stamina without going afk or binging meals. Also the occasional accessory you got from the boxes wasn't enhanced, meaning you got more value out of playing the game and collecting rift boxes instead.
I will agree that certain aspects of the game are unnecessarily punishing and can be a turn off for new players, but I also agree with others saying the game has far too many handouts. They're basically begging people to play with stuff like that, and it's not exactly a good look. If you have to bribe players to stay, then something is fundamentally wrong with the gameplay. If they wanna continue to reward activity but not gimp their playerbase, it would make more sense to put pets and vanity items in boxes like they've been doing with furniture and costumes lately. It doesn't impact progression, but people still get a little something extra for their time.

Oasis was surely a lifesaver when I was playing by myself the first season and did not understand how fail stacks and enhancing worked, resulting in 200ap, 270dp graduation.
Of all the buffs that oasis gave, the compass and carrots were the most important to me.
This was designed as an event, but it ran long enough that it should be considered being permanent.

I think it is wonderful that they are removing Oasis for multiple reasons. I ruminate on much of the commonly shared thoughts already presented in this very thread.
With the addition and extension of the event, the game became less of a MMORPG and more of a singleplayer game. With the Oasis shop items being at 1g each, one could just click the desired meals without a presence of a chef in the market. With the Ramones set at a certain level you were ready for most of the world of BDO until it caps you at Star's End. In short, a player could breeze through content without a second thought. Desert debuffs were disabled and compasses came easy, making a myriad of items and a Fairy ability inconceivable since they concurrently have no usage in the game. Oasis chests became a big silver inflation that could buy out most of the stuff, leaving a market dry for the majority of time. There's simply too much silver/hr, too much "easy way outs" and too few actual players playing the game.
A new player could catch up to a veteran in an absurd short time. A new meta was presented as such, so the "97% ded content" meme was born. This became a bigger and bigger problem as time went on, not because of the catch up, but because the more this event goes on, the more bad apples it'll attract. The game simply became too easy. Notice how many trolls will leave the game when it ends, and how many will come back to Gathering to supply much wanted items after a long pause. Or how many will shift attitudes towards certain playstyles which is going to be hilarious considering how much Gatherers have been spat since last year. I'll admit I'm talking from experience.
If you are that worried that a new player will face struggles as a result of this event ending, then perhaps you as a veteran should take initiative and mentor them. After all, you've played the game for quite some time now, you know the tips and tricks in the game by now. So communicate, and communicate well so that you don't scare them away. If you are not willing, then stop talking on behalf of new players as you are unwilling to do anything about this issue.
This is exactly the way I was thinking too. Down to every detail. (just to correct you at one place: The prices of all this is just a silver coin. ;) )
As to the mentoring part - this is what I did several times. You have a rock-solid like from me. Too bad I couldn't share more detail earlier, because time demanded my attention elsewhere.

Did you buy an account? Only characters that completed the main storyline after introducing Naru get it.

IMO they should make the permanent compass not RNG but progression based on a quest-line kind of thing. No need to spend 4000 hours trying to collect what you need to collect for it. Same with the map. Some people get it in a few dozen hours but others spend years.
RNG is not a fun/valid game mechanic.
Progression = addicting.
RNG = not addicting. Casino slots are different than grinding mobs for years. PA should learn by now what is and isn't appropriate to add RNG to.

One more thing.
If PA wants to remove oasis ... stronger world bosses should also be removed.
Today only kutum despawn, but after November 24th, it will be like this for everyone when players lose half the damage they deal and die from one boss hit.

I dont really mind oasis gone, but its massive QOL, carrots,map,compas for every stupid ass puturum rift,buffs and gear for every class that gets past 56.
If it goes away I will let all my boss alts naked they just have to kit 1 time soo.
I will still buy carrots and crons from CM they don't cost that much but I will surely not refresh them after 30min anymore XD
Probably will abandon compass and map, I can deal without them, but like I said good QOL.

No. Just delete Oasis from this game and never bring it back.
I'm tired to see players saying "WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT ?" with a picture of full Oasis or full TET boss.
New players need to understand how the game works, how to play it, what to do to get better gear. Giving them free gear is the biggest recent mistake that Pearl Abyss did.
I'm also tired to see a new players TRI Oasis or with TET boss from PEN Tuvala asking a DFS and being mad 'cause I used only one skill.
"Gear carried QQ"they dare to say.
I'm not gear carried. I'm just playing the game since 5 years.
Oasis is killing BDO economy since one year and half. Free Crons food, free TRI gear, and more. I'm already laughing to players who still playing with TRI Oasis and getting mad because they are going to remove it.
We got a lot of season, but no, they didn't use it to get better gear.
