I mean your right and thats why my suggested changes to Witchards fix the issue. you give them a frontal gaurd instead of super armor you limit how long they can stay around well also opening them up to more forms of CC from the other angles. Positioning would then become key just like the rest of the classes in the game your out of position you are dead. The issue is Witchards are only killable if a grab lands. and I agree valk abuses this stuff as well but shes also not nuking 10-15 people at a time. ( without her ulti)

 

Grab is broken I agree but until the classes that litterally  require it to be shut down are nerfed and tuned in a fair way they have no right to complain and ask for a iframe to dodge it.

 

My class is fine as is probably one of the more fair ones I am a twig I cut through evasion like butter with the right gear and build. If things got fixed I would be fine with losing my grab but right now if an assassin even sneezes near me I am dead so having that button to get them out of the back line and shut them down is kind of required given Archer doesnt really have a way to deal with it either. althought he cooldown of the grab should be increased once things are fixed.

 

I see the overall picture and the overall picture with the right balancing is PVP where every class can flourish if they have the skill right now we do not have that. you have Zerkers, Tamers, musa, mehwa that are just being eaten alive by AOE damage and CC. Theres probably more classes then that but thats my top 4 I see struggling and struggling hard.

Seeryus point out a few important issues regarding this.

 

General descriptions won't reslove any of this though.  A Succ Wizard is completely different from Awakening Wizard or Witch.  Group combat is entirely different from 1v1.

 

So when you say "you have no right to complain about grab" that may pertain to a group fight.  For a 1v1 though it's completely broken.  In addition it's not just the grab that is a problem.  Warriors get dash, protections, and instant grab.  The combination of all of those is what makes it a disaster.

 

The overall problem is nothing works when you try to make MOBA style PVP or this ridiculous speed of combat.  The only way to die is essentially to just cheat.  It's like a broken ARPG.  You just force the player to die with whatever means necessary.  If you need to 1 shot them, reflect damage, or just disable them.  Which is exactly how BDO PVP works.  You just cheat the player and force them to die.

Just give all characters, awk and succ, grabs. Make quick grabs with short CD's have long whiff animations so they're easier to punish. Make longer range grabs have slower startup from average so they're easier to outmaneuver. If a class has high mobility, give them a quick grab with avg CD. If they have tons of ranged CC, give them a slower longer range grab with long CD.

You talk about protection, grab and no protection.

You say they're all infunctional. Which is wrong.
You are looking for a sacrosanct balance that does not exist.
*balancing* goal on Game design is always preserving or increasing the fun or engagement. It's not something fix.
All game, no exeption that do *Balance patch* thier intend is to intentionally frustrate the player but keep engagement high to encourage spending money to skip frustrating parts. WoW Token, Sesame 

The meta on wow forces people to reroll to be optimal, and to be accepted into Mythic +. There is voluntary turnover and arbitrary nerfs to push the majority of the mass playing one class to go to another. What renews the game and increases the progression time of these players is a pedatorial method to want as much as possible when renewing the Subscription.
All studios do exactly the same. This is the basis of service games. even GGG nerfs the harvest to death because people are having too much fun with it.

There is always a meta, and changing it is always a sign of profit. It's cognitive manipulation


I have already given an opinion on the witch and wizard in another post. you already know him. Stop pretending to be ignorant because it suits you.
I am against preferential treatment that challenges the basic design concept.
I have nothing against the wizard and witch except the 7 skills that they have in excess.

The solution is very easy.

Make SA prevent grabs, but keep grab as a FG counter.

Also get rid of the SA on the Q blocks.

 

There, it's fixed. Grab won't be an IWIN button anymore, but still counters shield users at it is indeended to do.

That might be pretty helpful.  I'm not sure how this would apply to every class across the board, but many of the protected rotations include both FG and SA.  Without a block SA I'm not sure how many classes if any could maintain indefinite SA?
