Yeah its really not anything but an optimization issue as far as I can tell.  I've read up on the fps issues within pvp here on the forums.

Unfortunately pvp is my main interest, and if its unplayable, well...

Maybe in the future they can work it out.  For now I am out, but I did enjoy the gameplay immensely.

Until maximizing fps to increase dps becomes a problem for you, you still have a huge wall of cathing up to do. In all honesty, depends what kind of pvp you're interested in. If you like owpvp then sure, you can find some fun there with not that much of a time investment but if you want to be competitive then find another game.

I think you can do a lot in rbf with 261ap. Or anywhere. Not top dog boss ultimate. Maybe not need that to have fun. If you're competitive, you're in the wrong genre I think.. this is not a competitive game like that, it's just for a bit of fun.

I would have no problem investing the time into my Zerk to get the gear required to get into pvp...

But not if the pvp isn't playable for me....

O well, thanks for all the feedback.

Organised and large scale PVP is mostly out of reach for newer players due to BDO being a 5 years old game based on progression. If you plan on joining such PVP it would take a lot of efforts and time and/or money spent in order to catchup to established players.

As Poly said, it's overall better for you if you take PVP as occasional fun, this will save you a lot of frustration.

What framerate are you getting?  I play at 60 just fine, PvE and PvP, and know a couple people that are temporarily running closer to 30 without too much issue.  A lot of these "performance" issue complaints are taking things out of perspective, or are done by people who aren't actually all that skilled and are just looking for excuses as to why they are dying.

The pvp forums are telling me that I need to upgrade my machine basically...and/or my connection... Which obviously isn't an option.

Apparently these "performance" complaints are a thing, especially in pvp, so I'm not sure why anyone would be skeptical and try to blame it on a perspective and skill issue.

- I'm a pvp oriented player and tried Red Battlefield last night, got completely obliterated.  I'm assuming i should turn gfx settings to minimum, so I can actually see something.

Well you need to either fork in a heavy amount of cash, or no life a half-one year into grinding to have chance there.

Performance/graphic:

Well yes, you not going to see shit in team battles, unless you put everything to min/use third party app to make the game look like runescape.

Leaving aside the too intensive effects/badUI/no visual indicator issues, fps matters heavily in this game. There are classes that literately do more dps with higher fps, and generally your abilities are more responsive with higher fps.

The connection is a big issue aswell, since there is no spell queing, and the entire server/client system is rather poor, even with good internet, you going to get desynced, with a bad one, well...

Althrough if you just want to run around casually, having 60fps is fine for that. Like the only one positive aspect this game have is it's graphic. If you ruin it, then you might aswell jsut go play a another game, since in every other field other games are either the same or better.

My comment wasn't directly pointed at you.  Given you are a newer player, I expect your skill level to be lower, you will probably die a lot more than most of your teammates, and kill a lot fewer people initially.  I was more just pointing out that a lot of people out there tend to think they are better than they actually are, so when they start losing for any reason, are quick to blame it on an external factor, rather than just taking the time to actually get good.  If you have posted your computer specs and/or performance numbers in the pvp forum and they are lower, then the advice could be correct.  But it could just be a lot of negative feedback from people who really shouldn't be giving advice out either.  And unfortunately it is hard to tell which people are which.

At the end of the day, you need to be having fun.  And if your current computer can't do it, then this game clearly won't work.  But I want to make sure that I have tried to help you make it work the best that I can, that you aren't just quitting because a bunch of whiny people are bad-mouthing the game for no good reason.

My guildie that is currently running around 30 fps is on a temporary computer while his is being repaired.  He still regularly jumps into the RBF, and does OK in there, because he knows how to play.  He is looking forward to getting his proper computer back because he does like to be closer to the 60 that he was getting, but he is doing what he can with what he has in order to still have fun.  And there is something to be said about learning on a slower system, because if you can kill effectively while handicapped, think about how much better you will be if you get an upgrade.

Just some thoughts to consider.

I appreciate the candor, but this is a serviceability issue that can't be fixed.

 Beautiful game, needs optimization.
