Global Lab Update - October 22, 2021

MUSA, MAEHWA

Main Weapon

● Chase - Removed the falling motion at the start of the skill.
● Retaliation - Changed to not automatically be activated even on blocks while in Retaliation Stance.
● Stub Arrow - Made the following changes:
- Changed to not be available for Quick Slot.
- Changed to not be available on cooldown.
- Added a feature where Stub Arrow now conjures an arrow the first time it's used.
- You can fire as many Stub Arrows as you own when using the skill again afterwards.
* Therefore, the cooldown was changed to be applied after firing the last Stub Arrow.
- Changed so that you can use Chase by pressing W/S + RMB after using Stub Arrow.
● Stub Arrow: Double Shot - Made the following changes:
- Changed to a passive skill.
- Increased the number of Stub Arrows created when using Stub Arrow by one upon learning the skill.
● Stub Arrow: Triple Shot - Removed the skill.
● Stub Arrow: Evasive Shot, Charged Stub Arrow: Evasion - Made the following changes:
- Changed the stamina consumed from 150 to 200.
- Charged Stub Arrow: Evasion - Removed and combined into Stub Arrow: Evasive Shot.

- Changed the cooldown from 4 seconds to 12 seconds.

● Charged Stub Arrow - Made the following changes:
- Changed the attack style from firing projectiles to piercing through enemies. Therefore, the damage was changed.
- Changed so you cannot discontinue charging.
- Changed to combo into another skill when all hits are applied.
- Changed so that you can only move while using Stub Arrow: Evasive Shot
Stub Arrow has been improved to introduce a new, uncoventional playstyle where you can create Stub Arrows and fire them at any time. Also, the attack styles differ for Charged Stub Arrow and Stub Arrow, allowing you to use the skills depending on the circumstances.
● Arrow Grapple - Made the following changes:
- Changed the motions.
- Adjusted the damage.
- Changed to be activated even when a hit misses with Stub Arrow or Charged Stub Arrow.
- Added the Stun effect to be applied on hits.
- Added to combo with Upper Kick, Blunt Kick, Sweep Kick, and Roundhouse Kick.
 
 

Awakening

● Chase - Increased the time the Invincible effect is applied in Awakening mode by 0.2 sec.
● Chase - Increased the movement distance when using the skill forward in Awakening mode.

You couldn't use a basic attack after using Chase to cancel a delay motion in Musa and Maehwa Awakening like you could with your main weapon, which prevented you from approaching your enemies quickly. Accordingly, we increased the movement distance of Chase in Awakening as well so you can approach your enemies as quickly as when using a basic attack to cancel Chase's delay motion.

MAEHWA

Main Weapon

● Removed the following skills and added their effects to their standard skills:
- Ultimate Chaos: Red Moon
- Ultimate: Chase
● Chase II - Fixed the issue where the Super Armor effect was not applied at the end of the skill motion.
● Whirlwind Cut - Made the following changes:
- Changed the skill description to match its actual motions.
- Adjusted the damage. Therefore, the skill's PvP damage was reduced.
- Increased the lateral attack range.
● Ultimate: Whirlwind Cut - Made the following changes:
- Removed the "Stiffen on hits" effect.
- Changed the last hit of Whirlwind Cut to apply the damage of Chaos: Red Moon.
● Whirlwind Cut: Cyclone - Made the following changes:
- Changed the passive skill where the extra hit effect is applied to Whirlwind Cut on all hits after learning the skill.
- Changed the level the skill can be learned to Lv. 50.
- Adjusted the damage of the skill.

We changed Whirlwind Cut and its flow skills so that you can inflict great damage after moving behind your enemies by using these skills. For Maehwa Succession, you can use it as your main skill after learning Prime: Whirlwind Cut.
● Whirlwind Cut: Grinder - Removed and added the "All DP reduction" effect to Whirlwind Cut.
● Chaos: Red Moon - Made the following changes:
- Increased the attack range of the 1st and 3rd hits.
- Changed the attack range of the last hit so that all enemies around your character will be hit.
- Fixed the issue where the Air Attack effect would be applied on last hit.
● Maehwa: Ascension to Heaven - Made the following changes:
- Removed all of the hit damage.
- Changed the motions and attack range of Chaos: Red Moon after learning the skill.
- Changed so that the Floating effect is not applied on 3rd hit after learning the skill.
- Decreased the number of hits for Chaos: Red Moon in PvP.
We changed Maehwa: Ascension to Heaven to cause Chaos: Red Moon to perform differently upon activation. We made it possible for you to inflict great damage by comboing much more quickly into Chaos: Red Moon.
● Carver - Made the following changes:
- Increased the movement distance.
- Changed to activate the skill's hits by charging instantly.
● Carver: Typhoon - Made the following changes:
- Increased the attack range.
- Removed the cooldown.
- Removed the previous damage and % of Max WP extra damage and changed to apply the damage of Carver.
- Removed the Knockdown effect and added the Down Smash effect.
- Changed to apply the Down Attack effect.
● Backstab - Made the following changes:
- Changed the cooldown from 12 sec to 20 sec.
- Improved the skill to be activated more quickly.
- Removed the "Stun on hits" effect.
- Removed the "pushes target on hits" effect.
- Adjusted the damage.
- Fixed the issue where the Air Attack effect would not be applied.
- Changed so that the number of hits would not increase even in Succession.
● Arrow Grapple - Added so that you can combo with Backstep Slash and Prime: Stigma.
● Maehwa's Will - Changed to not be available for Quick Slot.
● Ultimate: Maehwa: Decapitation - Removed the skill.
 

Succession

Maehwa Succession was improved to make it easier to use Red Blade. We made it possible to maintain the Red Blade effect so that you can continue inflicting damage in PvE. You can activate and deactivate Red Blade according to your needs in PvP with the addition of Succession: Maehwa's Will.

● Red Blade - Made the following changes to the effect:
- Removed the All AP Increase, All Accuracy Rate Increase effects applied when you have 1 or 2 Red Petals created from using Prime: Dragon Bite and Prime: Divider.
- Changed so that the aformentioned effects will be applied instantly when Red Blade is in effect.
- Changed to reset the duration of the Red Blade effect when using Prime: Decapitation when the Red Blade is in effect. The All AP and All Accuracy Rate Increase effects were reset accordingly.
- Separated the description for the skill activated when Red Blade is in effect.
- We changed to enhance Prime: Divider instead of Prime: Dragon Bite when Red Blade is in effect.
- Changed to deactivate Red Blade when using Succession: Maehwa's Will.
● Succession: Maehwa's Will - Added so that you can use the skill after learning Absolute: Maehwa's Will.
- Changed so that you can use Maehwa's Will even on cooldown. Recovers less WP in this situation.
- Recovers HP after Red Blade is deactivated. However, this effect will not be applied when Maehwa's Will is on cooldown.

We made changes so that all buffs will be applied when Red Blade is in effect from the previous complicated way of applying buffs by using Prime: Divider and Prime: Dragon Bite when you have 1 or 2 Red Petal(s). Also, you can choose to apply or remove the Red Blade effect with Succession: Maehwa's Will so that you can get the enhancement buffs.
● Prime: Whirlwind Cut - Made the following changes:
- Increased the duration of the Super Armor effect applied on the last 3rd hit.
- Changed to increase the attack range after learning Whirlwind Cut: Cyclone and apply damage of Prime: Whirlwind Cut as the extra hit effect. Changed also to be applied on cooldown.
- Added an All DP -20 effect as Whirlwind Cut: Grinder was removed.
- Adjusted the damage.
● Prime: Blind Thrust - Made the following changes:
- Removed the extra hit effect applied when pressing SPACE or RMB.
- Changed all the attack range of the skill's motion to match the attack range applied when hitting forward with the skill.
- Adjusted the damage.
● Prime: Dragon Bite - Reduced the Stamina consumed on consecutive hits when the Tiger Blade is in effect.
● Prime: Decapitation - Made the following changes:
- Changed the hit damage effect to match the extra hit damage effect.
- Changed the number of hits for extra hits that would only increase in the IV level of the skill to increase in all levels of the skill.
- Removed the number of hits decrease effect in PvP. Therfore, the PvP damage was adjusted.
- Alleviated the damage reduction on cooldown effect.
- Changed so that the Super Armor effect is applied even in situations where the extra hit effect is applied with the Red Blade in effect.
- Changed the Stun effect to not be applied when activated with the Red Blade in effect.
- Increased the speed of the skill's motions when activated with the Tiger Blade and Red Blade in effect.
● Prime: Carver - Made the following changes:
- Increased the attack range.
- Adjusted the damage.
- Removed the Speed Attack effect and added an Air Attack to be applied to all hits.
- Changed the All DP reduction effect to 20.
- Changed to not apply the Floating effect when activated when the Red Blade is in effect.
● Prime: Divider - Made the following changes:
- Changed the Recovers HP on hits effect to not be applied on cooldown. Due to this change, we changed to recover more HP when not on cooldown.
- Adjusted the damage.
- Added buffs that are enhanced when Red Blade is in effect.
- Increased the attack range applied when Red Blade is in effect.
- Removed the pushes targets on hits effect.
● Prime: Red Moon - Made the following changes:
- Changed the cooldown from 9 sec to 7 sec.
- Changed the attack range so that all hits would be applied regardless of the distance when Red Blade is in effect.
● Prime: Blooming - Made the following changes:
- Removed the skill's starting motion. Therefore, the Invincible effect applied at the start of the skill was removed.
- Improved to activate more quickly.
- Improved to combo more naturally into Chase, Backstep Slash, and Prime: Stigma.
● Prime: Charged Stub Arrow - Made the following changes:
- Changed the cooldown from 6 sec to 4 sec.
- Decreased the time it takes to switch from Stub Arrow to Charged Stub Arrow.
- Adjusted the damage.
- Removed the "movement speed decrease on hits" and "Evasion Rate reduced on hit" effects.
- Changed the "Knockback on hits" effect to the "Stun on hits" effect.
- Added the "Bleeding Damage on hits" effect.
● Prime: Decapitation - Improved to combo into Prime: Sticky Snowflake on extra hit when holding LMB.
● Prime: Sticky Snowflake - Changed the attack range that differed for every hit to match the largest attack range.
 

Awakening

Awakening Maehwa mostly focused on the Tenacious Edge to New Year's Eve combo in PvE. So, we tried to focus on varying her combos. In PvP, we added the Knockdown effect to Flow: Frostflower, so that it can be used to start her combo. We also made it possible for her to combo with other skills even if Flow: Cloud Stab missed. Furthermore, Flow: December and Petal Drill were combined, and a new skill will be added later.
● Oppression - Made the following changes:
- Significantly increased the area where enemies are pulled in from while casting the skill.
- Reduced the cooldown from 20 sec to 9 sec.
● Flow: December - Removed the skill and added the extra hit from it to the skill Petal Drill.
● Petal Drill - Made the following changes:
- Reduced the cooldown for Lv. III of the skill from 7 sec to 5 sec.
- Improved the All DP -10 effect to -20.
- Adjusted the damage of the skill as the extra attack from Flow: December was added to the skill.
- Improved to be able to combo into extra hit of the skill after using Flow: Moonlight Dash.
● Moonrise - Made the following changes:
- Removed the 1st hit and adjusted the damage of the skill.
- Changed the WP recovery on 1st hit effect to apply to all the hits of the skill.
- Added the Super Armor effect to apply to the skill after learning Core: Moonrise.
- Increased the attack range on the lateral 3rd hit.
- Improved to combo more smoothly after using the skill Flow: Tip of an Iceberg.
● Sticky Snowflake - Made the following changes:
- Changed the Reduce Evasion Rate, Reduce Movement Speed, Reduce Attack Speed effects to be applied to all 10 targets hit.
- Changed the Criticial Hit Rate effect to apply in PvP.
- Fixed the issue where the attack range of Black Spirit: Sticky Snowflake was smaller than the skill.
- Changed the visual effect of Black Spirit: Sticky Snowflake.
● Frost Pillars - Made the following changes:
- Increased the attack range.
- Adjusted the damage of the skill.
- Changed the Cirital Hit Rate effect to 30%.
- Improved to combo more smoothly after using the skill Flow: Moonlight Dash.
● Flow: Tip of an Iceberg - Made the following changes:
- Increased the attack range.
- Adjusted the damage of the skill.
- Reduced the cooldown from 13 sec to 7 sec.
- Improved to be able to combo after using the skills Petal Bloom and Stigma.
- Improved to combo more smoothly after using other skills.
● Petal Bloom - Made the following changes:
- Increased the charging speed.
- Adjusted the damage of the skill.
● Sleet Steps - Changed the Increase Critical Hit Rate effect to the Increase All DP efffect.
● Sleet Steps - Increased the distance traveled when using the skill.
● Stigma - Made the following changes:
- Increased the distance traveled backwards. Following this change, the attack range forward was increased.
● Stimga - Improved to combo into the skill Flow: Moonlight Dash.
● Flow: Frostflower - Made the following changes:
- Added the Knockdown on extra attack hits effect.
- Changed the Increase All AP effect to +20.
- Improved to combo into Frost Pillars and the extra hit of Petal Drill more smoothly after the extra hit of the skill.
- Changed to combo from Stigma into the skill starting from the 2nd hit.
● Flow: Cloud Stab - Made the following changes:
- Adjusted the damage of the skill.
- Reduced the cooldown from 16 sec to 9 sec.
- Changed to no longer combo after using the skill Stigma.
 

Global Lab Update - October 29, 2021

● Fixed the issue where using Backward Chase with 2 or more Stub Arrows would continuously fire Stub Arrows.
● Fixed the issue where you couldn't use Stub Arrow: Evasive Shot while idle.
● Maewha's Will - Fixed the issue where using the Absolute version of the skill would cause the Succession version to activate even when you were not in Succession mode.
● Succession: Maehwa's Will - Changed to no longer be usable while on cooldown.
● Succession: Maehwa's Will - Changed to reset the cooldown upon entering Red Blade state.
● Stigma - Fixed the issue where the All AP Increase buff wouldn't apply when comboing into Flow: Frostflower.
● Moonrise - Fixed the issue where the Critical Hit Rate text wouldn't appear in the skill description.
● Frost Pillars - Fixed the issue where the skill's HP Recovery effect was recovering 30 HP instead of 20.

This information below is only for Succession Maehwa:


Looking at the bigger picture in regards to 1v1 PVP I think the only thing that needs to happen for her to be decent again is to have SA blocks removed from the game. I don't know why S blocks and non-SA blocks are being nerfed as the only complaint I've ever heard is about classes with SA blocks. If you don't have a grab or outgear them, you simply have no chance if they don't make mistakes.

 

I have no experience in large scale combat - that being said she needs some kind of immunity or heavy resistance to slow on Chase to even function in small scale. Getting slowed is an actual death sentence on our already slow (comparatively to things like 240fps awk warrior) SA movement.

 

PVE and damage wise I have 0 idea anymore cause I stopped maining Mae at 269ap because it’s on life support at best lol

It's been very obvious that the person doing the maehwa nerfing has any idea what they're doing. You were literally given fixes 3 yrs ago by this very community on how to fix awakening. Have you gotten anywhere near close to that? Nope. If you haven't figured it out yet a lot of us have purely lost faith in the development team seeing classes that were already brokenly OP getting buffs of all things yet some of your worst classes somehow getting nerfed more. I said it 3 yrs ago when you first did the horrible job of class balancing and will say it again, fire the development team and hire competent people who are willing to learn their own game that they dev for.

The amount of incomptetence of the person deciding the skill details on maehwa is staggering. That person should be reassinged to take care of the papu wars and making sure there are no textures clipping when using the rock climbing skill. You give 1 buff to a class that needs 10 buffs and take it away the next week while buffing the strongest classes massively at the same time. You people have no idea how much you are damaging the litttle goodwill that a lot of players have left for this game. Lost Ark cannot come soon enough. You will regret alienating the many players that loved and hoped for the old classes to be put on par with your grab bots. You are utterly incompetent.

More than a reboot it seems to me the extreme unction with a death certificate, at the end of this "reboot" can we have a ticket to transform our maehwa into another valid class ?

The only changed I really liked so far got reverted this week so I'm not quite sure how to feel. (The Chase change)

Dunno if I'd say the lack of damage is part of maehwa's issue?

I guess they gave carver a protection with a cc.. but I lock it for less issues using petal drill since I don't like having a lot of skills in my quickslots, which I'll probably still use drill as my core skill.

 

Haven't quite figured out how I feel about Icepick, I like the ice effect but overall hate the animation.

Don't particularly like the two unprotected 2-part skills in general though (Frost flower and Ice Pick) Which they are now our buffing skills.... great for pve i guess

The Guard Breaks on Red Moon and Petal Bloom.. eh.... Someone else can give their opinion on that.

 

So Tl;dr I preferred the chase before it got changed this week.

 

Obligatory give Iframe back to sleet steps kthx.

Also not that it'll matter much since they haven't reverted it by now but I preferred stigma into cloud stab over moonlight dash.

 

 

Edit: Oh right, the passive change.

Yeaah not good. I'd rather keep the 10% Melee evasion.

Awakening

 

Changes I like.

 

Chase slow immunity/Move distance - I was super happy when they made chase immune to slow and increased our distance. This was the most significant change to our class so far. This change was awesome and more impactful!!

Damage boost to our skills. 

Lower cool downs on our skills. 

Larger AOE on our skills.

 

Combo flow skills I like.

Petal Bloom > Tip

Stigma > Tip > Moonrise (Bon SA)

Changes I don't like

 

Stub arrow - This needs to be change to what we currently have on live servers. The new Stub arrow change is a straight up nerf.

I honestly don't understand how this is an improvement and will allow us to use our arrows depending on the circumstance and at any time.

We can already do that on live server, all this does is limit our arrow playstyle and the amount of arrows we can use within a certain time frame.

 

Recent Global Lab change (19th November 2021) - Chase immunity/Move distance got reverted because they gave us guard break and with chase immunity it was "too strong" to have both. I'd say, remove guard break and let us keep the chase immunity. 

 

Guard Break - They introduce Guard Break to some of our pre and awakening skills. So far, this is very underwhelming/useless and it only affects 1 target (1vs1). Guard Breaks on Red Moon and Petal Bloom is still a risky skill to use in close proximity on guard classes..unless you want to get grab.

 

Passive - The new passive for Maehwa is All attack power +12, Max Stamina +150. This is straight up laughable for a passive. I thought we were going to get some class exclusive passives? 

 

Passive  Solution? -

Let us choose between 2 diffrent types passives from a tree list of other passives. This gives us and all other classes the choice to go with which ever build we want.

Or give us a Increase stamina Regen or something like a 10% damage boost to guards. At least give us something intresting that will help our class in a meaningful way!

 

Frostflower (Knockdown) - I don't like the knockdown on this skill since it messes up our float combos. I would of perfer SuperArmor on the skill.

 

Moonrise Skill (Increase attack speed buff) - Attack speed buff moved to Ice Pick skill. I don't like this change at all. Let us keep the Attack Speed buff on Moonrise.

 

Ice Pick Skill - Don't like how this is a two part skill that's unprotected. Also the animation isn't all that good. 

 

Stigma > Cloud Stab - Can we have this back? I like this better than Stigma > Moonlight Dash.

I-Frame on Sleet Step. We've been asking for this for 3 years now. It's time to give it back to us.

Chase Immuinty/Movement Distance - Let us keep this!!! Chase immunity is WAY more impactful for our class than guard break.

Nerfing the worst class in the game, excellent reboot. The business end of your crackpipe must be hot to the touch if you actually think you're improving anything.

 

Please just refund all maehwa players the pearls they've spent on the class and delete it, since that's pretty clearly what you want to do (but obviously without refunding anything).
