This is your fault for deciding to play a class that was advertised for life skilling and was never intended for combat gameplay. What did you expect for them to rework shai into a actual combat class? If you wanted to fight things you shouldn't have played a shai. The devs never intended it to be good at combat.

All of this is extremely inaccurate. If shai is a life skill class then so is Corsair since they have a sailing passive lol.

No it is accurate because when Shai was released PA made it clear that they designed the class with the intension of it being a support class for group content (to bad they refuse to give us viable group content to do though), and that its primary focue was to please people who focues primarily on life skilling, thus why the class has a higher base weight than anyother class, a passive that gives it boosted combat XP from gathering, and why it starts out with two life skills at professional.

So sorry if you don't like how your class is ass at combat based content, but that kind of your own fault for choosing a class that was never designed to be good at combat.

They have those passives because they come from florin. A gathering and alchemy town. Just like all of the classes after shai got passives related to their lore. So no, she isnt a life skill class. Like I said that is a EXTREMELY inaccurate description. There are 11 life skills, she has two passives related to them, corsair has 1. No one is saying corsair is a life skill class.

What do we see the Shai doing in these vidoes? Gathering, processing, fishing, cooking, alchemy. literally running away from conflict. The only time we even see her engage something is when the ad show her with other classes in the game, and even than the video cuts out at the end before she even does anything.

Let look at the corsair ad an see what she does in it.

The result PA clearly wanted shai to not feel like a combat class they designed it with the intent of making a class that life skillers would flock too. So your dislike for the state of the class is a you problem. You can blame PA all you want, but they made it very clear they never intended for Shai to be a combat focued class & that it's purpose is for life skilling.

You spoke of Shai being a life skill class, yet she's terrible at it. I would love if Shai was a fantastic life skiller but if you put whip cream on a dog turd it doesn't become a 5-layer chocolate cake. That is what you're suggesting a few dated videos and a couple of trash passives make us. However, the reality is that Shai is still a dog turd at life skills. You may not like that she is involved in PvP and that sounds like a you problem because she is involved and we the players of the class feel she should be involved.

We don't disagree with the support role, we disagree with being neglected for over 2yrs and then asked to wait more time after. Shai players want to play as a support, but our developers won't even conduct our ART. They fail to support Shai and leave her with no true end game. She cannot PvP very well at the 700+ gs range and even loses in her niches such as siege which leaves the class underwhelming in nearly every area of the game including support roles. If this game loses the Shai community then they lose it loses the players who would invest in future support roles or related areas of the game.

Pearl Abyss is morally wrong for leaving this class in such a state for so long and continues to be wrong with every excuse they make when they nerf or neglect Shai players and try to sell it as the class being too special to change. Where the hell is all the stuff that makes us special? /rantOff

If the Shai are being told to "go pound sand" does this mean your next character will be the HasHasin, I just made a Hashshashin or is it Hashasheen?  Whatever.  They are a odd combo of the Prince of Persia, Altair Ibn-LaʼAhad, and Gaara of the Desert from Naruto.  So if you want to pound sand you can, is all I am saying. 

I still have my seventh slot open to make my Shai ... I think, it depends on what they announce at the Calpheon Ball.  Also  I'm still thinking about what type of Shai I want there.  But I am not concerned about the mechanics as much as most players.  I don't depend merely on the character's skills, I have skills too.   I must have tested a dozen or more variations and I even posted some to the game beauty shop album.   I have a chimney sweep and I am working on a bearded sage shai class, among others.

Honestly the shai don't fit into just one or two classes and this is the real issue.  Healer, monk, fighter, alchemist, gathering, and support bard is what I am seeing here.  I would call the shai a jack of all trades, master of none, but it is not true.  They master them all.  The shai are overpowered, and personally, I would thank them for not nerfing it into the ground.  I am not saying they need nerfs, but they to need definition.  A character is not just some random avatar to me.  The definition of character is; features and traits, morals and ethics. 

I really wish there was a meaning to the character profiles in this game.  As it stands, there is no reason it inspect another player's character because there is no detailed biography about the character.  Most people will tell you, purpose is just to better yourself, but we humans need purpose to exist.  My characters need meaning to be more than just another Lahn, in sexy underwear, pounding a mortar and pestle at the storage keeper.
