ITT: Entitled players attempt to circumvent open PVP system by Karma bombing because they don't want to participate in the "pvp" portion of an OPEN WORLD PVP game.
You consented at level 49 to hit 50 to open world PVP. Stop trying to split the game into PVE and PVP servers and change the identity of the game to be like Final Fantasy and WoW PVE themeparks.
If it costs so much karma just for them to respawn nearby, I say limit the amount of times they can spawn nearby on a cooldown.
3 times in 20 minutes, otherwise you're forced to respawn in a town [only when killed by another player, PVE unaffected].
It is less punishing than losing progress towards levels and a temporary debuff, but it would add significant value to the silly amount of karma cost. Wouldn't be mad at a raise in the max karma either; 500-600k instead of 300k.
Because as it stands now, dying to a player already costs you nothing. There should be value to BOTH sides in a game where OPEN PVP is part of its IDENTITY. You can always reroll shai and stop at 49 if you don't like pvp.
There is a tool against griefers called "mob feeding": you CC the griefer until mobs kills them so that they experience XP loss and cristals breakage.
This most often makes them lose any will to grief you anymore.
I used to do this. Whitle them down a bit until they're almost dead, and then freeze/stiffen/stun them. Didn't always work as a deterrant, but it definitely did work sometimes. Usually it would take them a couple deaths before they would leave, but they usually would.
Haven't done it in forever though, but it can work if done right. I would like to think an accuracy-heavy gear build would work wonders in not killing them + chain locking them. lol
They can't steal your mobs if you kill the mobs first. If they kill the mobs first, then they were never your mobs.

Fun fact in law. It's not a valid contract if I don't get given a choice. I'm forced to accept PVP in order to access level 50 and higher game content. That's not a choice, that's a coerced consent.
More importantly, if I abandon the game for 30 days, I get access to full PVE servers (level 50 and above) so again this is not a valid argument in bdo anymore.
The reality is that there are two playerbases in the game. PVP and PVE and NEITHER player should be forced to play the way the other wants to play.
I honestly cant believe how arrogant some players are. Instead of investing some time to properly learn their class and some match ups, which by the way doesnt take so long that you need to be a hardcore player, they ll whine about their rights on forum. You should be glad there is a dfs otherwise every constested spot would be full of griefers. I am 606 gs grinding SE. I still duel ppl that are a lot higher gs than me and i lose because of it sometimes. Its still a better alternative than every other player, higher or lower gs than me, just coming to the spot, either trying to kill me or simply griefing me when he realizes he cant.
I think the problem isnt solved with the dfs system. You could implement the etiquette system of "spot taken". As it makes no sence at all, that a higher geared or higher skilled or better pvp class player should have the right to grind on a spot. dfs is only a etiquette system wich is followed by most players right now. But in the end its only a etiquette system. As the gear gab is growing bigger and bigger this system is outdated and comes from a time where the gab wasn`t that big.
Most grinders take area of 3-4 players could farm normaly and when you come to spot they start crying spot taken. Most time in this spot at least 2 players could farm normaly but no. So karmabomb them all with no regreat they should learn to share
There is no karma bombing problem. In almost every case, the friction is caused by the player with the elitist/entiltled attitude & not the normal player....then they come here to cry about an unfair system. Laughable. Guess what? friendly players don't get karma-bombed.
This is just subjectively wrong everyone gets karmabombed or griefed at some point whether your a friendly player or not the reason why duel for spot is so good is because it basically just gets rid of arguments win or lose and mostly avoids friction with the players.
We have one of the best community driven systems in all the regions if you look at the asian regions it's just whover can grind faster so let's say you're at SE aand yourr a tamer and aa succ valk or striker comes into your rrotation good luck outgrinding those people that probably have more gearr than you and just kill the mobs faster so yeah I say DFS is very good and I am thankful.
You will be karma bombed by some players because that is just how some players are but mostly players are reasonable.
honestly, I have gear but if someone comes to my rotation and starts griefing me I just grind over them most of the time I'm ready to leave the rotation but I'm petty and if they flag up I will karma bomb them without hesitation its main reason I own a gear bag to drop my gear then the moment they go red I break their crystals back when we had the old karma system you could get 10 kills before you went red cause max karma loss for killing a player was 30k so they could potentially kill you over and over while still grinding back what they lost I'm honestly happy with the current karma system and if someone tries to dec me since I'm in a dead guild I just put myself under protection I ain't got time to deal with an entire guild that wants to push a single person out of a spot cause they got 10 people fighting one person
Karma bombing is just an excuse for high geared player ,they can't kick low gear player for free thanks to the karma system
high difference of gear affect the quantity of lost karma, this mean a overgeared one will go redkarma with a single kill of a n00b, this is already the protection
So, I see this is a trend in EU servers right now.
They come on the spot, lose the duel and the next thing is griefing and karma bombing. ( or they don't even ask for a duel )
Our karma is enough for 4-5 kills or less if he takes down a few pieces of armor.
We need a fix against people like this since this has become a daily routine for them.
Guildless + Ghillie outfit and they grind like I was never there.
I know is not the same thing in KR but EU players are toxic to the moon and beyond.
We need a punishment system for players like this.
It's a little bit sad, I grinded 3 years to get where I am only to be pushed out from the spot by a random kid on a lvl 60 with 250 AP.
Ya Karma bombing, are you being "karma bombed" or are you one of the asshats that thinks the entire monster zone is their "rotation".
